What's the best way to switch a campaign from sub-domain tracking to root domain tracking?
-
I realized after the fact that one of my campaigns also has a mobile website sub-domain that I'd like to track (ex: http://m.website.com). How can I switch this campaign over to root domain tracking without deleting everything and starting over?

Thanks Peter!!

Hello there!
Thanks for writing in! This is a great question indeed! In our campaign tool, because the need to have the correct rankings tracked which is directly tied to sub vs. root. Our tool doesn't have the ability to edit root or sub domain information once the campaign has started With that being said, I would recommend you download your historical rankings and relevant information using our export CSV function to preserve your historical information. Once you have done that, archive the campaign and start a new one with the correct root domain tracking.
One way to get this feature added into our next iteration of tools is to go to our feature request, chances are that other people are thinking the same great idea you are! You can visit that by going to this link: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/categories/6327-known-issues-feature-requests.
I hope this helps! I am going to leave this question open so other folks can chime in on this topic, perhaps there's a web dev wizard or a excel data master that can figure out a work around
Best,
Peter

I'm thinking there's got to be a way. Many people set up their entire sites with dozens of root domains. The real issue is whether that has to be done at the initial setup or not. Don't forget you can also email help@seomoz.org

Thanks for the suggestion Marisa, but unfortunately all 5 slots are taken, and I'm hoping that by tracking at root level it won't require depletion of those very valuable spots just to track the mobile version.

Do you have a free campaign slot? You could start an additional one just for the mobile site. But if there is a possible way for it to be added to an existing campaign, I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

Why does a word show as 'Google en-US Mobile Friendly' = FALSE when it also shows that it ranks 3 on mobile?
I pulled a recent report for all words I'm tracking locally and it states that a specific term ranks #4 on desktop and #3 on mobile. But in separate columns, specifically "Google en-US Mobile Friendly" that same terms shows as 'FALSE'. Any idea what this means? Thanks!

Authority from Linking Root Domains: youtube.com / wikipedia.org / adobe.com
Hi there, Presently doing competitor analysis and note two competitors who have a way higher 'moz domain authority' than my client. Using moz tools I notice their top 5 linking root domains all have a score of 100. Refer to screen shot. Of note, both list youtube.com and _wikipedia.org. _ Similarly, my client's domain is ALSO linked from their user profile on youtube.com. They also have a published wiki page with their URL linked. BUT, youtube.com or wikipedia.org are not listed in their "top 5 linking root domains". Their highest scoring linking root domain is prweb.com - with a score of 97. If my client has links on these top domains why would they not be listed in my client's top five domains list like they are listed in their competitors top five? Researching for reasons I came across this old post (2009) here - http://moz.com/blog/followed-links-from-four-unexpected-sources - and wonder if the competitor's links are 'followed' links - even though all resources suggest wiki and youtube are definitely 'no follow' links? Other interesting "Top 5" domains that are listed for my competitors as top "linking root domains" are microsoft.com, adobe.com and europa.eu - again, refer to screenshot. Questions are IF these top linking root domains are in fact 'followed' links/valuable links and help with domain authority scores calculated by the moz tool then 1) HOW do I get these links to show/provide the same value? AND 2) How are my competitors, who are simply travel products, getting links from top domains like adobe.com? I do hope all the above makes sense and that I'm using/interpreting the moz comparative tool correctly! Cheers iGe864i.jpg?1

Confused on setting up my domain in a campaign
I have a website that is www.example.com. When I first setup my campaign in SEOMoz, I missed the instructions that stated I need to set up my domain as it appeared in the browser. Thus, I set it up as example.com. When I realized my mistake, I setup a second campaign as www.example.com and am running them side by side to see the differences. My question has to do with the best setup. I have a blog that is a subdomain as blog.example.com. It appears that the www.example.com campaign is not crawling the blog pages but example.com is. Are there any downsides in setting up this campaign as example.com? I have a number of other sites with the same issue so would like to get this resolved before I setup the additional sites. Thanks for any assistance or insights into ways I may be "shooting myself in the foot" with the wrong domain structure in my campaign settings.

SEOmoz report vs. Google's Algo
Hello, I got an SEOmoz Report for one of our clients and the report is showing these pages and many more others as duplicate page content. Thing is the page content is not duplicate however there is very little data differentiating the contents. My question is does Google see the following pages contents as duplicate? because seomoz does. http://dallastxlofts.com/blog/2012/06/using-a-loft-for-commercial-or-office-space.html/img_9632/ http://dallastxlofts.com/blog/2012/08/newly-renovated-in-victory-park.html/3-2/ http://dallastxlofts.com/blog/2012/08/pedestrian-friendly-uptown-west-village.html/attachment/18/ http://dallastxlofts.com/blog/2012/06/using-a-loft-for-commercial-or-office-space.html/img_4322/ http://dallastxlofts.com/blog/2012/08/historic-deep-ellum-lofts.html/2012-08-18-11-24-30/ http://dallastxlofts.com/blog/2012/08/pedestrian-friendly-uptown-west-village.html/attachment/13/ http://dallastxlofts.com/blog/2012/06/using-a-loft-for-commercial-or-office-space.html/842-4/

Moz's customer service. Is this normal?
A few days ago I noticed an issue with the on-page optimizer, when I couldn't find a solution, or even any mention of the problem in the forum I posted a ticket at the help desk.
Moz Pro | | Abidos
After ten hours I got a generic reply that didn't answer my ticket so I posted saying so.
After two days of not getting any reaction I looked through the forums again, this time searching for reactions about Moz's help desk. I found the post saying that sometimes the mail with a reply isn't received correctly so I went to the page of the ticket.
Here I saw that not only didn't I get an answer but my issue had been marked as solved, even though my last message clearly stated that it wasn't. This was three days ago. So my question is, is this how Moz usually treats it's clients? I'm new and my free trial is about to expire. At this point Moz should be impressing me with their great tools and services, convincing me it's worth my money. If I can barely get their attention now I don't expect it to change once I have payed them.0 -
Does anyone know of a crawler similar to SEOmoz's RogerBot?
As you probably know SEOmoz had some hosting and server issues recently, and this came at a terrible time for me... We are in the middle of battling some duplicate content and crawl errors and need to get a fresh crawl of some sites to test things out before we are hit with the big one? Before I get a million thumbs downs- I love and will continue to use SEOmoz, just need something to get me through this week ( or until Roger is back! )!

Keyword tracking
I'm tracking keywords. In the past past i used Rank checker. I have compared Rank checker and Rank tracker of SEOmoz and they give different results. Which one is more accurate?
