Has anyone heard about Facebook's Revenue Problems? Duh right. Well have you seen how they are losing money yet?!?!
-
So about a year ago now (maybe more/less), Facebook changed the way their ads are displayed.
On the desktop version of Facebook (for me at least), the Sponsored ads in the right sidebar display anywhere between 3 and 7 ads at a time.
Well in the case of 7 ads, that is a lot of ads to look at and read through.
All seems pretty ok right??
Well, here is the problem.
I cannot tell you how many times I have seen an ad that interests me, and then read through the others below them, then before I can go back to click on the one that interested me, the ads automatically refresh, and I don't get to click on the ad.
Maybe they figure that by refreshing ads, it gets them more chances to catch your interest, and that the value of that is higher than the value of me getting to click what I wanted. (It kinda upset me honestly. I thumbs down things that tease me.)
Either way, they could have both.
My solution?
A small button that you can click to view the ads that were previously displayed.
(imagine how much money that could bring them. Especially if I saw the ad yesterday, left the window open for 24 hours with the computer on, and just sat there clicking until i found it. You are BOUND to find MORE ads that interest you, and click on those too.)
((ok, ok, ok, maybe 24 hours is a little ridiculous, but at least SOME amount of time and a button is necessary))
If we were really going to build a marketing playground, then we could also throw in a "More Like This" button.
It would open the doors to some AMAZING data.
Full to the brim with advertisement related feedback coming happily from your users.
When you are talking about positioning your brand, it doesn't get much more important than to talk to them while they are enjoying themselves. (i.e. they click button, and next page has 10 links. you show the links, based on how many times people are clicking them. Not to mention, when you are that big, you can look at the value of what they do immediately after, the next day, and even the next week, and really tell what is the most valueable add, in terms of egagement, and further CTRs and Conversions for later in your relationship )
Anyways, I thought everyone would find that interesting, and hopefully it would inspire some people to get analytical with their thoughts today.
Do you think that Facebook could use some conversion rate optimization?
Do you think that Facebook could be doing more than they are to make more money?
Do you think that Facebook (being such a powerful site), could make a lot of money by implementing an SEO/Content strategy?

Hi,
I've seen a few of your other posts.. welcome..
Q. Do you think that Facebook could use some conversion rate optimization?
A: I would be shocked if there isn't a team (if not an army) doing this now.
Q. Do you think that Facebook could be doing more than they are to make more money?
A: Sure and I suspect they are working on it.
Q. Do you think that Facebook (being such a powerful site), could make a lot of money by implementing an SEO/Content strategy?
A: I'm not FB usability expert, but I would invest in improving their site search capabilities first. Just an opinion.

We changed our domain, I used the move tool in Google Search Console and I am having our site redirected and go daddy, and now I spoke with someone who suggest we do a 301 redirect for all pages on our site and I’m not sure that’s the correct move.
We just changed our domain name after 15 years. when I bought the new domain name I called Go Daddy and they instructed me to contact my google G sweet admin account and change all of our emails over which I did and then I went into Shopify who is my host and changed my primary domain there and then I went back to Go Daddy and had my old website forwarded to my new site. since then there has been nothing but problems with Google. my product feed from my merchant center account has been suspended three or four times now, I tried to rename and move all of my Google accounts from my old domain to my new one, but I am not an SEO person... after making the changes I have started google chats with analytics department with the merchant center with Google as they all keep saying that it looks fine but I’m not convinced because the product feed keeps getting disapproved. So I posted an ad for help and the Guy I spoke with suggested I do a 301 redirect for every single page on my old site, But I’m concerned that might confuse things further? I’ve already started the move in Google Search console And in Shopify I added the old domain back into the domains section and am having it redirectEd that way too... I guess I’m just looking to know which way I should proceed, any and all advice is warmly welcome thank you in advance Maureen

Facebook conversions - issue in calculation
Hi, I have a few campaigns for conversions on Facebook, but any of them don't show to me real numbers. There are 4 times more conversions on Facebook than in GA. I did a little research. The problem is that - Facebook pixel calculates all possible conversions from all sources, and because my campaign results are wrong e.g.: Facebook campaign results: Conversions: 10 | Cost per conversion: 1 GA for that campaign (real numbers): Conversions 1 | Cost per conversion: 1 GA from all campaigns and sources: 10 It's that correct? Pls help. Br. Marco

How to fix canonicalization so Google shows our company's website and not LinkedIn
I work for a company that builds and manages apartments. I would like to know how we can fix canonicalization. You see, we have been posting our company's blog articles not only on our company's website, but also on LinkedIn. When people search for one of our articles, Google is displaying the article for LinkedIn. Except, that's not what we want. I'd prefer for Google to display our company's website, to drive more traffic to our website and not LinkedIn. For instance I just Googled the title to one of our company's blog article "Great Leadership is about Influence not Authority." The first thing to show up was a link to see the article on LinkedIn. There was nothing referring to our company's website. Here is a link to the LinkedIn account where we have been posting the blogs: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/great-leadership-influence-authority-mike-kaeding/ Here is a link to the same article, but on our company's website: https://www.norhart.com/blog/2018/08/08/great-leadership-is-about-influence-not-authority/ Why is Google showing the article for Linkedin and not our Company's website? Might LinkedIn have canonicalization over Google? If so, how might we be able to reverse this and drive people to our company's blog instead. Any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks.

Metadescription (SERP's) with green checkmarks: spammy or not?
HI Will a Metadescription with GREEN checkmarks be perceived as spammy in general? Or is one with BLACK checkmarks better? Depends on the topic/target audience, etc.? --> see screenshots. No doubt that the green will stand up more (increases CTR) in the SERPS but if it is perceived as less trustworthy or even spammy by the target audience its not worth doing it. Any experience with that? Would really like to know what do you think about it. Cheers, Cesare 0G3Fd

Facebook Pixel Installation
We are looking to setup conversion tracking for an Ad on Facebook. Upon selecting the Ad objective as a conversion, the pixel code is eventually provided. However, we are unsure, do we put this pixel code in: In the head tags of the header.php of our Wordpress website In the head tags of the page where a conversion is recored (i.e. the Thank You page of our website)? If it is the second option, is there a Wordpress plugin that will enable this to be easily done? Thank you for helping us clarify this!

Have you notice that more you spend on a Facebook boost, less you make?
On a Facebook page I manage it has been noticed or atleast argued that the more you spend on a boost for a specific day the less conversion it makes. for example: spending 10 euro/dollars on a boost would give: 160 likes, 6 comments, but by spending 40 euro/dollars would give nearly the same: 170 likes, 7 comments we have run this a few times with similar outcomes.. Any ideas or did you have a similar outcome?

Facebook Connect login preventing traffic source conversion data. Any solutions?
We're buying traffic to the website via Adwords, and when they hit the website and go to sign up for an application (enter into our conversion funnel), the session concludes as a bounced session, a new session starts and that session now has a referral from Facebook rather than the original referring source. This means we can't monitor adwords conversions properly (or any other traffic source conversions) this seems to be quite a common problem with Facebook/Google account logins, in the case of Google, people block account.google.com but we can't afford to block Facebook outright as we're wanting to see other Facebook referrals. Has anyone come across this problem? Any suggestions of how to fix this?
