On Page Optimization Report

Does this tool also guard against an instance of over-optimization or keyword-spamming?
-
Hi Brendan!
Moosa was correct that the On-Page tool will let you know if you're keyword stuffing. The section you'll want to take a look at are the High Importance Factors of the report (http://screencast.com/t/3lpHLhKhhi). If you are spamming, the "Avoid Keyword Stuffing" alerts will show up as unchecked and the read more section will provide you with specific details.
Best practice is generally to have at minimum 4 and no more than 15 mentions of the keyword on a page. Just a heads up that our crawler will look at the content in detail to find an instance of a keyword. Example:
Keyword = tanning salon seattle;
Page contains phrase; best tanning salon in seattleThis would be tagged as an instance of the keyword since tanning salon seattle appears in that exact order within the phrase.
The reason we do this is because of best practices and the way we've seen this effect search engines in the past. Since the search engines really don't tell anyone how they determine these metrics, we try to err on the side of caution to cover all bases.
Thanks!
Sam

RE: "it does tell you if you are in to keyword spamming within the page"
Can you please indicate how this is identified?
I can see total numbers of keyword.
But isn't keyword spamming a ratio to body text? -
I dont think it will be yes for over optimization but it does tell you if you are in to keyword spamming within the page!

Thin Content pages
I have a couple of pages that are thin content. One is essentially a page with the icons of our customers and a link out to their website. The other is a summary portfolio page that has some images of some of the client work we have done with links to internal pages that have more details about each client situation, approach, etc. These deeper pages are just fine. What is the recommendation for handling these thin content pages? We could add content, but then it wouldn't really help the user very much.

Too Many On-Page Links
Ok so I am very new to MOZ, and we have just set up our PRO account and campaign. When we got our crawl results we had 4 pages with "too many on-page links". All of these pages correspond with our blog, which is a wordpress hosted blog that is integrated into our site. Our site is www.moxicopy.com and the blog is www.moxicopy.com/blog I am confused on how we have over 100 on page links on these pages, as we have very few links on our blog.

How do I best SEO optimize a landing page that is mostly graphics?
I have a social networking website built on a SocialEngine platform. All of the pages (except the home page) are password protected for members only. My web designer wants the home page to be primarily graphics - not text. It looks nice, but with no substantial copy on the page, can I still get the page to rank well with just meta title, description and keywords (even when those keywords aren't actually on the page?) What's the best way to handle this? Kim

My website is saying I have duplicate page content and page title. How do I fix it?
Hi, I created a website on webstarts.com. After I launched it then ran a scan through SEO it says I have duplicate page content and page title. The 2 pages it is reading are technically the same page. www.mobilemowermedicsinc.com and www.mobilemowermedicsinc.com/index . I am unsure how to get rid of on of these as it keeps saying this is an error in the SEO scan. Could someone please advise me of what to do from here. Thanks!

Links to Product pages
Hello all, I am still rather new to SEO and learning a lot every day. I do have a question. On our product search result pages (example http://shop.ferguson.com/search/bathroom-lighting)
On-Page Optimization | | Ferguson
It is currently set up so the image, text, price etc of a product is linking to that product page. Our question is, if we were to link the image and the product name - will this be seen as two links to the same page? Is this a bad thing having multiple links to the same page? I searched around to see how other ecommerce sites have similar pages setup and it seems they link the image and also the product name, and the description is not click-able, which allows a user to "Highlight" the text (this is not possible on ours) Which would be to correct approach for SEO as well as User Interface, the way we have it set up, or by going with the method of the question I asked, Thank you for any information on this! Should one page with markers or six separate pages?
Hi - I'm working on a site that was set up with 6 bios on one page, with markers jumping to each person's name. I was thinking about separating those into 6 different pages, but not sure if that's the right thing to do. Advice about keeping the bios on one page vs splitting them up? (Am I more likely to rank for those peoples' names if I have a unique page, or is the one page url with each different marker in it, just as good?) Ranking well for those names isn't a huge goal of the site, but it would be nice to make the choice that would help with that rank. Thanks for your input Emma
