Google is no longer ranking home page but sub page lower, why?

We were ranking on page 2 and number 4 for the key word motorcycle tires. Google was ranking our home page jakewilson.com; however, we have been adding new content to our site and doing some internal linking. We pointed some links about motorcycle tires to http://www.jakewilson.com/cl/52/Motorcycle-Tires and now that page ranks but on page 3 not 2. Any thoughts?

But why would they rank the page lower than the home page was ranked if they think it is more relevant? And the linking is something that needs to be worked on. Up to this point there has not been much done. We are doing more social now though and that should help a little.

Yes we know we need to fix that, it is just a really big project!

When that happens it's usually about relativity IMO, G sees the other page as more fitting to the search term but it can also be over optimisation, carefully with your keywords, don't over do them if you can avoid it.
I'm sure there are other considerations like linking but thats what I have found previously.

The link profile of your homepage is very well optimized for "motorcycle tires" so it was ranking decently well, whereas your new landing page is not. So, it was a good step creating a specific landing page for that search, both on a SEO level and usability level, but you will not just transfer over rankings.
Perhaps contact those websites that are linking to your home with your ideal anchor text, and get them to switch it to the new landing page? Just don't overdo it with the anchor text.
On a separate note, I'd also work on your taxonomy. You should really have things broken down like /tires/motorcycle and parts/sproket, not the /##/Keyword you currently have. I just tell my designer what I need changed, so it's super easy for me to tell you that lol

Backlinks on Moz not on Google Search Console
Moz is showing thousands of backlinks to my site that are not showing up on Google Search Console - which is good because those links were created by some spammer in Pakistan somewhere. I haven't yet submitted a disavow report to Google of well over 10K links because the list keeps growing every day with new backlinks that have been rerouted to a 404 page. I have asked Google to clarify and they put my question on their forum for an answer, which I'm still waiting for - so I thought I'd try my luck here. My question... If Moz does not match Google Search Console, and backlinks are important to results, how valid is the ranking that Moz creates to let me know how I'm doing in this competition and if I'm improving or not. If the goal is to get Google to pay attention and I use Moz to help me figure out how to do this, how can I do that if the backlink information isn't the same - by literally over 10 000 backlinks created by some spammer doing odd things... They've included the url from their deleted profile on my site with 100s of other urls, including Moz.com and are posting them everywhere with their preferred anchor text. Moz ranking considers the thousands of spam backlinks I can't get rid of and Google ignores them or disavows them. So isn't the rankings, data, and graphs apples and bananas? Google Website Ranking Problem
I have a website with not so big amount of backlinks and PA 16 DA 6. I try to search it in semrush and its do not show me any result for it. But I have different website with DA 18 and PA 9 and it is indexed in google. It is have 4 keyword not so well but at least it is indexed and I can begin to bring backlinks and blogs and it will grow up. What can be problem about this website. I do not give website link here to avoid problem. But i can send link in private. But what you can recommend to me to do to make this website show up in google.

How is this site ranked so high on Google?
How on earth does "southeastasiatravelblog.com" rank No 3 on Google for "Asian travel blog"? It's just a collection of basically PR type travel articles. I have profiled its backlinks using Open Site Explorer and 71% of them are dead. The rest seem to be mostly "run of site" links from his other websites, which aren't particularly travel or Asia related. The highest PA for a live backlink to this site is a link from within his own website (PA 27, DA 15). Most of his backlink anchors are URLs and look fairly EMD to me. The site has few shares (6 FB shares, 7 FB likes, 1 Twitter share). So what makes it rank so highly for this phrase? My site I'm comparing against is "travelnasia.com" which is a fairly new domain with a DA 23, PA 31 and about the same amount of shares but far fewer backlinks at this stage because I recently changed URLs to shake off what might have been an algorithm penalty from Google. I am now receiving a growing level of Google search traffic again, but it's a long climb back. I'm looking at strategies, which is why I was checking out the site above.

Should I offer our free eBook on its own page?
I work for an e-commerce website and we have written a super helpful eBook about one of the kinds of products we sell. The original idea was to offer it on the main page that we direct people to when they're shopping for this product, but it occurred to me that it might be better for link building and less cluttered if it has its own page. But we are concerned that link building to a separate page will not help with SEO for the main product page, which was the original goal. What should we do? Pros/cons?

Link exchange with nofollow bad for ranking?
Hi, I wanted to give my EMD (Exact match domain) some more links and added it to some general start pages, just as my competitors did. The disadvantage of such link sites is that you have to add a link back to them. So I created a new page in my footer "links" and added a link back to those who requested that. However, I made all links a nofollow because I don't want them to benefit from my rankings. Those sites really have nothing to do with my subject and are just interested in a link to give them some boost I guess. I'm sure not everybody like my approach, but my question is. Will those nofollow links on my page back to the ones that requested it affect my rankings?

Fresh set of eyes on this page please. Why isn't it ranking?
Morning all, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a quick look at this page and see if I'm missing something here. The targeted keyword (wedding favours) is pretty competitive and the rank had been slowly improving until recently and we've now slipped to 25th on Google UK. I've added a "Pay with a tweet" button for our eBook which has been pretty well received (around 100 downloads) so far so the social side is better than our competition. I've also written a few guest blogs with links back to the page from a variety of sources. Here is the page analysis on OSE. Google unranks target keywords

But as of late I am having some problems with my website, and I am curious if anyone of you are also experiencing the same.
The problem is this in SEO it is a SOP that you use your target keyword as your anchor text having the url as the landing page for the page you want to rank for.
But recently the pages I want to rank for specific keywords are going down instead Google is ranking my homepage for keywords I don't want to rank for.
So instead of having my target pages rank it is my homepage that gets shown in Google, now this is what is really interesting the keywords I rank for are not in the meta title, description, keywords of the homepage in fact there are no specific keywords at all in the content!
I checked the backlinks and I have never created any backlinks to my site using those keywords I rank for.
And this is happening at a very fast rate, rankings and pages going down and only the homepage is showing up in Google.
I really want to know your thoughts.0
