How To Increase Back Links
-
Our web store, www.audiobooksonline.com has good PageRank (6) compared to some competitors for the keywords audiobook, audiobooks, audio book, audio books. One big difference is that most top ranking competitors have significantly more back links including from .gov and .edu sites.
Our domain URL has been on the Web since 1997 so naturally occurring back links likely has run its course.

Larry,
I think the question you really should be asking yourself is:
Why should anyone bother to link to me?
Once you can answer that question you'll find it a lot easier to build or "earn" links to your website.
As for Link Building tools I recommend that you use Open Site Explorer or Majestic SEO to start to learn what types of content in your niche gets linked to the most, and then create a better resource than them or approach an old concept that was covered in a piece of content from a new angle.
I could literally write for hours on link building and link building techniques but if you can answer that first question you're in a better place than 75% of people who come to me for link building advice.
-
I would start with a list. I have my own set of spreadsheets I maintain each month. Message me for a direct link to some places to start.
I would start with all the oldest directories with high authority for branding. Those include DMOZ, Jayde, DIRNext. Actually you should list hunt first to start your own list. There are tons of list that people have started and posted.
Also submit to local directories. I also have my own list I have manually put together and also update.
*I don't submit to more than 10 directories per month. If you do start doing this type of authority and inner directory listing, just do it slow and consistent.

What premium directories do you recommend?
-
I would focus on your content conversation with your target audience. This will produce natural content that you can have featured on other websites.
This would take some research to see what you have, keyword research to see what people are looking for information on, recycle and update older content (revisit it with updates).
I would also take this content and see if you get into a relationship with key niche groups and organizations.
Last I would focus on a light road-map that involves branding. Premium directories, like some of the oldest directories on the next and slowly hand-submit using your brand name. So come up with a keyword list and variation of your brand name and products. Avoid any exact anchor matches (maybe one or two).
You could also look for ways to reference your products to bloggers for review and maybe an inner link to your product pages. This will pass authority through your website.
To ensure this page juice is distributed properly, silo your website and ensure you have dynamic content throughout the framework of the website.

Produce some awesome content and post it on your own site. This content has to be so good that everyone everywhere will be sharing it with their friends and talking about it on their blog... it should be so good that even the Pope and Chris Christie will hear about it and comment.
That's the best way to get backlinks.
Best tool to get back links with?
If you are using some tool other than your brain it could be a good way to get in trouble with google.

Disvowing Links?
I ran a report through SEM rush and it came back with 174 toxic links ( score 100-60). I have been reading mixed reviews about what to do. Most of the websites are not relevant and appear to be linking to the images. Should I disavow these links? Would it help SEO? Or should I leave it be?

Value of Links? What is each link worth?
Morning Everyone, I just had this thought and wondered what everyone's opinions were in terms of link value in monetary terms. We'll assume for the purposes of this that the links come from contextually relevant sites and that the sites in question have got the Moz DA from being high quality and have a good quality incoming link profile. Its a bit of a theoretical question, but i guess imagine if the only way you could get links was to pay for them, what would they be worth to you. This is link value for SEO purposes, they will have in addition value from traffic from good sites, that no doubt varies wildly depending on topic. I assume everyone also agrees on: The first link from a domain is the most valuable High DA sites are worth more than low ones. So could anyone who has an opinion on the link value suggest a monetary value for links. Its really just using a monetary amount to see how best to target my time. Here is my example of what might be expected, but I am hoping people with more knowledge will perhaps correct it. DA Rating First Link 2nd-5th Link 5th-10th Link 10Plus Links 5 $5 $2 $1 $0 15 $7 $3 $2 $1 25 $25 $10 $5 $2 35 $45 $20 $7 $3 45 $65 $30 $11 $4 55 $95 $45 $19 $5 65 $200 $100 $45 $6 75 $350 $120 $65 $9 85 $700 $240 $95 $15 95 $1100 $450 $200 $30

Unnatural Links To Your Site — Impacts Links warning, Should I do something?
Hi, I got: "Unnatural Links To Your Site — Impacts Links Google has detected a pattern of unnatural artificial, deceptive, or manipulative links pointing to pages on this site. Some links may be outside of the webmaster’s control, so for this incident we are taking targeted action on the unnatural links instead of on the site’s ranking as a whole. " I don't see any dropping at rankings, could the best solution here to be, just to leave everything as it is and be more careful with the link building in the future? Or is there a danger that Google gives further penalties if I don't act on this one do something? I am little afraid that if I start removing links, my rankings will drop, even though they have remained same if don't do anything? Any help is appreciated.

Gathering links
There are numerous "Ultimate Guides" to linkbuilding, outreach, etc., and they are all written to teach you the art of linkbuilding. The only thing these guides don't tell you is that following them takes a massive amount of time and doesn't guarantee to get good links at all. We're all in online marketing, and maybe we online marketeers are familiar with linking to other websites, posts that we like, etc. and maybe that's why we can write these guides but in other niches it really doesn't work that way 🙂 I'm wondering what techniques/tactics/strategies you guys are using in less straightforward niches to get quality links to your blogposts. To give you an idea, we launched an article a couple of weeks ago targeting a very competitive keyword. The article got shared over 100 times on LinkedIn/Twitter/etc. and already ranking pretty good, but REAL backlinks are still missing. How to get people to link to that article?

Internal Links - How to Increase them, Categories not being considered as Internal Links
Hi All: As per my understanding, Internal Equity Passing Links is a metric defining PA. Now my website has around 65 internal links while few of my competitors have more than 180 links. I am unable to understand how to increase the internal links passing equity on my website, because I can see, more number of links on my website than my competitors but opensiteexplorer does not show that. I am really confused. Please help out if anyone knows something about this issue. Thanks in advance.

Why are none of my incoming links showing up in SEOmoz or Google? How do I get good legit incoming links?
There are hundreds of sites that are linking to my website, but nobody is showing it. Google wont display any when using link:eugenecomputergeeks.com, and in webmaster tools it only shows 46 incoming links. SEOmoz shows only 3 links. This just isn't so. Why is this? I DESPERATELY need valid incoming links from well ranked websites , and having lots of trouble getting them. Nobody in town with a well ranked site seems to want to do a link exchange, and I've already made the mistake of buying my way into directories, which didn't do anything good for my rankings. Thanks!
