Is it currently possible to have a company logo appear with a Google search result?
-
Hello,
We're experimenting with rich snippets. It seems fairly easy to attain authorship through Google and have a headshot appear in a search result...
However, we are wondering if it is possible to have a company logo appear (perhaps through rel="publisher"?). Surprisingly, I can't find much info on this.
Thanks!

Rel=publisher will display your company logo and Google+ page on the right hand side of branded search terms (search terms close to or exactly your company name).
Google will not allow you to upload a non-headshot (such as a logo) for a rel=author snippet that will appear directly in your search result.

I've considered this but would this be a problem considering it is not an author but a company? I'd like to see someone who is implementing this where they are using their logo.
Meaning wouldn't Google frown upon this?

you are talking about something like this
or this
Either way there seems the answer is yes

here is a great blog post on why you should do it as well
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/google-author-photos
the reason I ask is you say company logo. You could make your Personal & company photo the same in Google + photo your company logo and thus it would show up as you.
I did a little research and I think that is what you have to do is make them both one you can only have one unfortunately what I understand however these links I believe will shed a lot more light on this. I strongly suggest using a photo of yourself or your company's logo regardless and putting it as Google author

What are your opinions on the Google News vs Spanish Government Issue ?
Greg Sterling said: "Governments across Europe are justifiably alarmed by the declining fortunes of their respective newspaper industries. However punitive or parasitic taxation measures targeting Google, masquerading as copyright protections, are not the answer." Do you agree?

Google penalty removal expert questions
We have searched online for a Google penalty “expert” (individual or company) and have located what appear to be “experts”. Please provide feedback on the following 2 individuals/companies we have found that can help with penalty removal. Have you or one of your clients used either of the “experts” below? What were the results? How many disavows and reconsideration requests did you/they have to make? 1.www.penaltypros.com . To give a quote and to see what your links are they use links from Google Webmaster Tools only. Penaltypros.com disavows first and then removes bad links second. This is opposite of what Google and Seo’s recommend but penaltypros.com claims 100% success using this non-traditional approach. See imgur.com link for screenshot. 2.http://www.hiswebmarketing.com/ To give a quote and to see what your links are they use links from https://ahrefs.com/ only. Please provide any and all feedback on the above 2 “experts” and also post the websites, individual names, company names of those that you consider Google penalty removal “experts” so that we may obtain a quote from them. SEO For Local Searches
I run a driving school of over 100 instructors in the UK. We cover around 60 different areas. My homepage www.driveJohnsons.co.uk is optimised for 'driving lessons' and 'driving school' search terms mainly. My area pages are optimised for the same but with the area included ie: Driving Lessons Birmingham or Driving Lessons Leeds I've taken a drop in many areas... I've cleaned up my incoming links using the disavow too and upped more relevant links associated with the same industry as myself. The question i have is should i change my URL's for my area pages from www.driveJohnsons.co.uk/driving-lessons-leeds to: www.driveJohnsons.co.uk/leeds I've been told stuffing the URL with keywords for an area actually dilutes the strength of my homepage and all the other areas. At the moment i have 60 area pages with: www.drivejohnsons.co.uk/driving-lessons-area It use to work a treat, but i've started seeing some companies change their URLs to: /area and excluding the driving-lessons If i make this change then i'm either going to have to bit the bullet on build up links for those areas again or do a redirect for each area. I've added most areas to google places and i've added google map to many of area pages too. If anyone knows a bit more, please let me know...

Anyone drawn a Google Penguin?
Just a bit of light relief in the world of SEO. Hey SEO people are funny and can laugh as well 🙂 Our SEO team has had a go at drawing some penguins and the results are funny to us as they are so childlike. Anyone else fancy adding their drawing to the flicker group. This is just a bit of fun for us all! http://www.flickr.com/groups/googlepenguincartoons/

Do "big" SEO companies remove links after termination of service?
Or worded differently: Has anyone heard of "big" SEO companies removing links after termination of service? I have a client who isn't particularly happy with the SEO he's getting from a big Aussie SEO firm, and he wants to terminate, however they've built thousands of links for him and he's a little concerned they might all get pulled. Has anyone heard of this happening, or; Do you think this is a legitimate concern? I think its physically possible to remove backlinks like this because it seems the SEO firm in question is building links by using other client's websites. I also wonder if they might have large content farm style sites where they place links for clients which might be quite easy to take down. Please discuss!
