Would you allow guest writers to have google adsense on your site
-
Hi, i am thinking of building a website where 30% of the writers would be guest bloggers and i was thinking about letting guest bloggers have adsense on the site.
What i was thinking of doing was, allowing the guest blogger to have one google adsense advert on the page of the article but not sure what people think.
The new magazine would be on one topic but i am worried incase the person kept on pressing the google adsense advert to get money in.
The google adsense code would be there code, does anyone know if there is a way from hiding their code so they do not know which one is their google adsense advert, and do people think this is a good idea.
This would only be offered to people who write good quality interest content.
will be interested to hear your thoughts

cheers thanks for this

Sure - not sure how they do it but an easy way would be to generate a random number from 1-100 and then show the code based on what appeared. So if you want the author code to appear 80% of the time, you would do:
$num = random(1-100)
if $num <= 80, show their ad code, else, show yours.
You can scramble the adsense code via a javascript obfuscator.

hi can you explain more about this
You can make it so that their code shows up a certain % of page loads and yours for the remaining.
the reason about hiding the code is to stop people from pressing the ads to gain revenue

There are a number of sites who do things similar to this - search for "adsense revenue sharing" Why would you want to hide the code?
Your best bet is to replace all adsense blocks with their ID on their posts. You can make it so that their code shows up a certain % of page loads and yours for the remaining.
In general, unless the blog is gets a lot of traffic and the writer has many posts, they probably wont make much.

We Just Found Out One Of Our Writers Has Been Plagiarizing - Now What?
I just found out one of the writers we employ has been simply copying and pasting content from other websites into our clients' websites. She's been doing this for about six weeks. We are going to speak with our clients to apologize and let them know that the problem is being rectified, but my question is how to best address this issue from an SEO standpoint? I know that the content needs to be rewritten, but those links are now six weeks old - is it best to remove them altogether and start from scratch, or just rewrite the content under the old link? Are there any steps that I'm missing to solve this?

Google authorship works on posts, but not on root domain.
When I check Google authorship via the tool Google provides, it says I am confirmed for individual posts, but not for my root domain. I’m using WordPress, and individual posts are fine, but not the blog as a whole. I am the only author… and have given it a week, thinking perhaps it needed time... but no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you!!

Have i got my google adsense in the right place
Hi, i am working with a new site which is in wordpress and i am just wondering if i have the google adsense in the right place. I want great user experience but i also want maximum exposure to earn money to pay for the site. I must say i have no experience with google adsense, have used it for a couple of years but never sure where the right places are to put it. here is the page and i would be grateful for your thoughts. i was thinking of moving the top google adsense above the title and replace it with a 300 by 250 box in the middle of the content and either keeping the bottom or moving that to the side. any advice would be great. http://www.cheapflightsgatwick.com/rome-the-ideal-location-for-a-wedding-abroad/

If you were guest blogging would you prefer a link or revenue share
I am looking at ideas at the moment, we have been getting a large number of guest bloggers wanting to write for our site but i have to say we are turning down around 90% of the articles as they are low quality. So i am just wondering, to attract high quality articles, should we carry on offering a link in the articles or offer them revenue share by asking for their google adsense code and putting it somewhere on the page. If we did offer this, how would we impliment this, we work on a joomla website and have read about rev share but not sure how we do this correctly. Would like to know people's thoughts on this

Can having similar content on my company's two sites hurt our rankings?
We have a very successful website that has been up for a number of years (www.comellaortho.com). We rank high in the natural rankings for that site. A few months ago, we started seeing patients in another nearby city. I purchased a new domain name, www.dansvilleortho.com, and had our web company duplicate the website under the new domain name. The reality is that the content on these two sites are nearly identical. Some of the pages are different; for example, there are fewer pages on the new site. But the pages that do exist are nearly identical. My question is: Can having similar content on my company's two sites hurt our rankings? Based on what I've read thus far, I believe the answer is "Yes". However, I'm curious how bad this may hurt us. I'm not as worried about the new site (dansvilleortho.com) because our competition in that city is slim to none. But I AM worried about harming the original site/business (comellaortho.com). Which site(s) rankings may be affected by this, and if so, how bad? Thank you.

Onsite Blogging Vs Guest Blogging
Hey all! I have a limited amount of time allocated to writing instructional blog posts for my company. When I complete an article I can do whatever I want with it: pitch it as a guest post on an industry blog, or post it on my company's onsite blog. I know there's not a magical solution regarding the percentage of time one should devote to guest blogging v. focusing on the company blog, but I figured I'd throw the conundrum out to the Mozzers anyway. In your opinion, how many of your writing resources should be devoted to guest posts, and how many should be devoted to maintaining the onsite blog? What if our onsite blog isn't currently receiving a lot of traffic? Thanks! Meg

Guest Blogging Question!
Hi, The anchor text link connected with an article used for guest blogging, say the anchor text has 3 words and the link is in the byline, do these 3 words need to be used within the article content? For example if the article is 500 words long and the anchor text from the link is not used at all in the article content will this have a massive negative effect against using the anchor text in the article a few times? Cheers

Please help me stop google indexing https pages on my wordpress site
I added SSL to my wordpress blog because that was the only way to get a dedicated IP address for my site at my host. Now I am noticing Google has started indexing posts both as http and https. Can some one please help how to force google not to index https as I am sure its like having duplicate content. All help is appreciated. So far I have added this to top of htaccess file: RewriteEngine on Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} ^443$ RewriteRule ^robots.txt$ robots_ssl.txt And added robots_ssl.txt with following: User-agent: Googlebot Disallow: / User-agent: * Disallow: / But https pages are still being indexed. Please help.
