Keyword stuffing

Just wondered whether you think the footer text here on tis page constitues 'keyword stuffing'.
I think it does but wondering why they haven't been penalised for it.

Thoughts?
Many thanks.

Definitely manipulative. However, as others here have said, give Google some time. They are constantly refining their algorithm to identify these kinds of manipulations. Again, this is one of hundreds and thousands of techniques people use to manipulate their SERPS and with millions of websites on the web, Google wants to automatically identify these, not manually.

Hi,
That screen shot is from SearchMetrics - organic visibility.
Another tool for visibility you can also use is sistrix.com
Both are more or less the same as far as outcome.
Those visibility graphs in correlation with the actual traffic can give you a lot of information.
Hope it helps.

Thanks very much Tom and eyepaq, responses much appreciated.
eyepaq, just wondering what tool are you using there in the screencast?

Hi,
Just wondered whether you think the footer text here on tis page constitues 'keyword stuffing'.
** Yes, that's the definition of keyword stuffing right there.
I think it does but wondering why they haven't been penalised for it.
** Well .. give google some time
On a serious note, if the sites performs well on the organic side and you don't rank and get a lot of traffic from the keywords / queries listed in the footer Google won't apply a filter. I've seen several cases with sites that used this approach and didn't rank for the keywords that were stuffed and they did fine.
On the other hand the site looks, form an organic point of view, almost flat line
http://screencast.com/t/2uZTXOSRq
So visibility is very very low .. there is not much to cut from that at this point. More then that even if the site will have organic potential due to that heavy footer it won't rise - so even if you don't have a penalty in place you won't be able to get a real lift off.
Hope it helps.

Yeah, that definitely looks manipulative. Wouldn't be advocating that.
As for why they haven't been penalised - clearly the site hasn't been manually reviewed/penalised, so it's up to the algorithm to flag the page. You look at the rest of the homepage and, while it looks a bit crude, it serves the user pretty well. Nothing else on there looks manipulative, it's relatively clean etc - so you'd say 90/95% of the page, for a user, is helpful. With that in mind, it's a bit easier to see why it may not have been flagged and penalised yet by the algo.
Rest assured though, it it was detected, it would be penalised for that stuffing. It's not a massive offence, mind. The irony though is that the ramifications of any penalty would be much larger than any SEO benefit those keywords are having.

Keywords moving up, except...
The keywords on my page are moving up, except for one. I have routinely ranked between 13-15 for one particular keyword. I am aware that it is a broad term, however, at one point, I showed up on page one at #6, and then dropped right back down to where I was. The website it "sexaddict.com" and, don't worry, it's for addicts so you won't find anything but help and resources there. The keyword is "sex addiction." Thanks, Ryan

Keyword research for new website
Hi guys, I'm pretty new to all this so please bare with me if I sound like a total noob. I've been tasked with doing keyword research for our new website to work out what we want to rank for. We are a b2b outsource provider of telecommunication services, contact centres etc. I'm looking for advice on how best to start the keyword research, what I should be looking for etc. At the moment I'm using a list of keywords provided by the sales team, running these through uber suggest for other variations and then putting them through Google's keyword planner. Once I've done that I'm looking at ones with higher volumes of searches with low competition. Is there anything that I'm missing? I'm trying to cross reference this with intent, looking for searches linked to people wanting help, a provider, to buy etc. Thanks in advance for any help guys, I really appreciate it. Leo

Setting Up a Keyword Matrix
Greetings MOZ community!! My real estate web site contains about 500 pages with perhaps 70 pages targeting low volume, somewhat valuable but not very competitive keywords. Three to four URLs target very competitive terms. The following terms are among the most valuable: New York City office space,
Keyword Research | | Kingalan1
New York office space,
Manhattan office space,
NYC office space Such variants as: Office space in New York City,
Office space in New York,
Office space in Manhattan,
Office space in NYC
ETCETERA convert really well How would I match different terms to different URLs? For example I have just re-written the following two critical URLs: www.nyc-officespace-leader.com (home page)
http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/commercial-space/office-space (product page) Would it make sense to use "Manhattan office space" and variants on the home page while excluding "New York City office space" variants? At the same time I would use "New York City office space" variants on the "office-space" product page while excluding all mention of "Manhattan office space". Is this logical and does it conform to SEO best practices? For the "NYC office space" terms I would add them to http://www.nyc-officespace-leader.com/listings. This URL has almost no text but a strong potential to rent because of a high number of incoming internal links. Is this approach sensible? In general what measures should I take to prevent URLs from competing for the same keywords? Also, is there a software package or tools that I can use to come up with keyword variants? As a non SEO professional, can I create my own keyword matrix or is this really in the realm of a professional SEO consultant? Thanks, Alan0 -

Ranking for more keywords - Noob question
Hi, I've noticed recently that our site is ranking for a fraction of the keywords that our competitors are ranking for. In terms of increasing the number of keyword rankings per page would it simply be a case of adding optimised copy to each page? Thanks, Dan

How can I do to improve ranking for head keywords?
Hi guys, I'm currently working for an italian restautant finder web site http://www.cibando.com The site currently do not rank for any of the cityName pages eventhough all this pages received a B grade in the on-page report card by Seo Moz and have a great amount of internal links. This is an example of the pages I'm speaking about: http://www.cibando.com/ita/ristoranti/milano/milano As I can changeso little on this page, I'm thinking about creatinng a new cityName page having this URL http://www.cibando.com/ita/ristoranti-milano in which I add some text about the city and the restaurants people can have dinner at and add some link to the currently cityName page and categoryCuisine page. Is it a good idea? Do oyu have any suggestions? Any expert out there give an insight? Thanks in advance. Francesca

Evaluating Competition of a Keyword
I'm curious about how others evaluate the competition of keywords when putting together an SEO program: Do you place any faith in the competition listing in the Google Keyword Tool? Do you find value in SEOmoz's Keyword Difficulty tool? What other tactics or processes do you perform?
