Solve "Too many links on page"

I own a Opencart site with a lot of products , I am getting this error in the campaign report, how can I fix it? Read other members replys but I dont understand how ..
I would appreacite if you could explain it easy because my native language is spanish and my english is really poor

There are lots of products on Category pages. However, SEOMoz campaign suggests it as a warning of "Too many links used on a page". Now, what is the best way to solve this problem?Should we leave it, as it is suggested by "smarties954". Or should we use Pagination? If that is the case, how can we control the duplicate content errors. We have a Canonical tag but what link should be given in Canonical?Another question: If we have used Canonical tag in case of pagination, does Google crawl the rest of the pages?

I agree with smarties954 I would not try to reduce the number of links on your page. From personal experience I have done site redesigns that have increased the links on the page to around 160. The first version of the site was optimised and doing well but after the redesign rankings increased even with the increase in links. The site was also much better from a user point of view which I think is very important.

Estoy de acuerdo con la solucion que brinda "smarties". No es problema muy grave, solo es un aviso. La recomendacion es tener 100 enlaces dentro de una pagina. Sin embargo es una recomendacion que en ocasiones es dificil de cumplir en sitios "ecommerce" como el tuyo, con tantos productos. Lo que pasa es que aquellos enlaces superiores a 150-200 no los va a contemplar el robot de google.
Lo mas esencial es que el sitio sea totalmente navigable y sea facil de usar para los internautas.
Tu pagina inicial no tiene tantos enlaces, es en las categorias y productos donde se detectan mayor cantidad de enlaces 200-400. Una solucion es quitar lo que no es esencial para la navegacion y agregar mayor contenido de valor. Veo por ejemplo que quizas algunos enlaces en busqueda avanzada se puedan obviar.
Si es posible tratar de reducir a menos categorias tu sitio. En general el diseño de tu sitio me gusta. Solamente siempre tener en mente la navegacion para el usuario.

I agree with overall comments of smartie. The general guideline is to have 100 links per page. This a recommendation made by Google however the limit is flexible. With more links you risk losing the ability to have additional page crawled by Goog.e
The most important thing is that your site is SEO Friendly and has the right user experience!
Your homepage doesnt have that many links. The problem arises in deeper links found in categories, and products where i found 200-300 links per page. A possible solution is to have only the most essential links and add more value content. For example, i see that some links in advance search could be trascended.
If its possible try to reduce the overall categories. I like the overall feel of your site.
Its vital to have always in mind, the mind of the user.

I guess the error is Too Many Links.
In a perfect world you might want to keep the amount of links per page at 100.
However, due to the size of your site and the amount of categories and products, it will be hard to do so.
You are caught in a dilemma, you want to give your customers ease of access with the menus at the top on the other hand it costs you in pagerank since each link will give away some pagerank.
It it were my site, I would not try to lower the amount of links, but not exceded 200-250 links per page, and focus more on getting quality inbound links to increase the pagerank and offset the problem.
I would also add more content (text) to each category/subcategory since it looks like you have lots of picture but not too much text.
Just a personal point of vue.

Home page and category page target same keyword
Hi there, Several of our websites have a common problem - our main target keyword for the homepage is also the name of a product category we have within the website. There are seemingly two solutions to this problem, both of which not ideal: Do not target the keyword with the homepage. However, the homepage has the most authority and is our best shot at getting ranked for the main keyword. Reword and "de-optimise" the category page, so it doesn't target the keyword. This doesn't work well from UX point of view as the category needs to describe what it is and enable visitors to navigate to it. Anybody else gone through a similar conundrum? Dashes "-" in keyword?
Just running over the page/keyword analyzer and Moz picked up the fact that my link and title are not the same as the keyword I am targeting. I am targeting the keyword "Battlefield 4 CD Key" However my title (and therefore link) are Battlefield 4 CD-Key. Note the dash. Does the dashes matter in SEO or should I try to remove them and have continuity through all of the page.

Does Google follow link path or url path when it comes to passing link juice
I noticed something with one of my sites and now I am thinking I made a boo boo (I think) here is what I have On my homepage I have 5 links Link1

www.mydomain.com/Link4 So naturally my link juice passes down to these links evenly. Link5 also goes to another page, but on that page I have more links that go down further. www.mydomain.com/Link5 -> more links On page Link5 I have links that go to more pages, BUT my URL structure for these pages go like this Lets say on Link5 page I have another link that goes to AnotherLink1, AnotherLink2 and AnotherLink3 When you click on those links it takes you to those pages just fine, BUT my URL structure is like this www.mydomain.com/AnotherLink1

www.mydomain.com/AnotherLink3 Basically I put all the "AnotherLink1-3" in the root directory as well. My question is concerning how Google passes the link Juice from my pages and if it is passing based on the path of the links and how they point to those pages, or do they pass link juice based on the URL structure. So since "AnotherLink1-3" is located in the root directory am I dividing my link juice from my home page to all the links as well based on the URL structure. For instance www.mydomain.com/Link1

Too Many On-Page Links Reported By SEOmoz
Hi, I recently did run a crawl report for my blog dapazze.com, and found that SEOmoz is reporting many pages on my blog having more than 100 internal links. I opened OSE, and made a search for one of my pages which was reported to contain more than 100 links. And I found it to contain 464 internal links. Here is the link: http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?page=1&site=dapazze.com%2F2012%2F10%2Fwin-a-commentluv-premium-single-site-and-multi-site-license-worth-about-154-giveaway-of-october%2F&sort=page_authority&filter=&source=internal&target=page&group=0 Please have a look at it. I have chosen - Show "All" links from "only internal" pages to "this page" option in OSE, which reports me this. I see almost every page in my blog linking to every page. This is not the problem for me. I have also tried to make a search for some popular bloggers, like ProBlogger.net, ShoutMeLoud.com, HellBoundBloggers.com, etc, and all of them have the same problem. Should I be worrying about this problem? What is the problem actually?

Duplicate Page Content on Empty Manufacturer Pages
I work for an internet retailer that specializes in pet supplies and medications. I was going through the Crawl Diagnostics for our website, and I saw in the Duplicate Page Content section that some of our manufacturer pages were getting flagged. The way our site is set up is that when products are discontinued we mark them as discontinued and use 301 redirects to redirect their URLs to other relevant products, brands, or our homepage. We do the same thing with brand and manufacturer pages if all of their products are discontinued. 90% of the time, this is a manual process. However, the other 10% of the time certain products come and go automatically as part of our inventory system with one of our fulfillment partners. This can sometimes create empty manufacturer pages. I can't redirect these empty pages because there's a chance that products will be brought back in stock and the page will be populated again. What can we do so that these pages won't get marked as duplicates while they're empty? Write unique short descriptions about the companies? Would the placement of these short descriptions matter--top of the page under the category name vs bottom of the page underneath where the products would go? The links in the left sidebar, top, and in the footer our part of our site architecture, so those are always going to be the same. Dynamic pages on a static html pages websiite
Good evening everybody. I am new on SeoMoz that I find very helpful in my work. I am not a web developer so please excuse me if my technical language is poor.I have an issue that maybe you can help me to solve. I work for a company who has a website, which is old and very well positioned on google for the most important keywords for the field of the company I work for (dentistry). It is a website made some years ago and it's made of static html pages.I would like to add a section in my website where I can post articles, like a blog (I think of a wordpress-style website) with daily posts (so with a dynamic page). Is there a way to do this without modifying the structure of the website and without losing pages, urls and ranking? We're on the first google page for many keywords of interests in our city and it would be a great damage for us to lose those positions.Thank you very much!

Too many links
Hello, sorry question 2! I run the report it says we have 120 links roughly per page. I know this is bad however I have question about an oscommerce site. I identified some links that can be deleted for example Product picture is a link then the title and then its says details (so I can delete the details and that should save about 15 links) Now I really can only delete the breadcrumb for example car>>ford>>spareparts>>engine If I delete the breadcrumb I would lose four links would you say thats a good idea? or leave the breadcrumb due to the seo benefits. Too many 301 redirects to home page - is this possible?
If a site has a bunch of 404’s that are basically old URL’s that no longer work and point to pages or documents that don’t exist anymore - Can someone clarify if it’s a problem when fixing a bunch of these 404’s to point them all to the home page? so if there is not really anywhere else that is applicable for the old broken URL, is it really a problem to 301 old pages to the site home page? I have read some different things on this recently on some different sites, so I just wondered what the latest thinking on this was….thanks...
