Link Building Tactic Advice
-
Today, a link builder contacted us, and in exchange for a link to his site he will be willing to give us a blog post on his sites..
The sites he is willing to give us a Blog post/links on are all around PA 25 and DA 25..
The site he wants us to link to has a DA of 78
Can someone advise us on any positives or negatives. on positing on his lower quality sites in exchange for links to his quality site..
Should we go ahead and partner with them ?

I think that the answer to this question has nothing to do with the PA or DA of either site. Exchanging links is not a bad thing. It can actually be a good way to get links if you do it correctly.
To answer your question, think of the following:
-Are your sites closely related?
-Would it make sense to have links to each other even if search engines didn't exist (i.e. would it benefit both sites' readers?)
-Does his site consist of good material or is it all a mashup of low quality blog posts from other sites who are trying to get a link?
My guess is that in this case you will find that the answer to whether or not you should do this is no. But this may not be the case every time.
I'll give you an example. We have a real estate site. I have a colleague with a home staging site. His site is new and has low PA/DA. My site has really good PA/DA. I found a page on my site where it made sense to link out to a home stager. In return, he allowed me to write a blog post for his site. The blog post was a helpful one that his readers will benefit from. Google is not going to get upset at a link exchange like that. However, if you are doing this over and over and over again then it can start to look like a link scheme.

I would be very weary of any such reciprocal link scheme as this would be a breach of Google's guidelines. Any link exchange of such nature could have a negative impact on your ranking.

Look at it and see if the site has engagement and check its backlinks. I just look to see if it was made for seo or for real people.

Thank you David,
Do you have any tips of how we can identify bad site? is there a test we can do and it says Yay or nay to exchanging links/posts with a site ?
If we write good content blog and post it on a "bad/spammy" site .. will that still count as a negative.
-
You need to look at the sites you will get the links from and see if they are good sites - it sounds like a tactic you would want to stay away from

We just redesigned, and weren't very strong before the redesign either.
DA of 32 and PA of 38 for the index page.We can write a good quality content and add our link at the end or into it.
But the one thing I am afraid of is penalty via association,
If this tactic of "Neha Gupta" is a spammy tactic, will our link or post on his lower quality sites affect us by being connected to a Bad link Neighborhood ? -

How to link build?
Hello all. I've been having intense conversations with an experienced SEO, who has told me that the only way to get consistent links to your website, and to build you business through the web is through blogger outreach, and then paying the bloggers to put your appropriate content on their high Page Ranking website. To me, this may well be right. But it sounds dull as anything. Any thoughts? William

DA vs PA when building links
When building links to your site from other sites, what is more important or what weights more heavily? Say a site has a DA of 20 and PA of 34 for that page I want a link from. Say another site has the revese, a DA of 34 and a PA of 20. All things being equal, which site's link to me would be better? The one with a higher DA or the one with a higher PA for the on the specific page I would get a link?

Is it time to pay for link building?
I've been using the Moz tools for a while now and love them. Our SEO efforts are certainly paying off as we're ranking well for a lot of our desired keywords. That being said, I'm finding link building to be a very frustrating process. As much as I like to be hands on and try to do everything, I'm wondering when it's time to "throw in the towel" and hire someone? Is there anyone else who might have gone through a similar evolution? I'd love to hear some other stories about how or why you decided to hire out your link building. I'd like to think that whatever we spend on link building could likely reduce our reliance on AdWords, although I'm not sure how this would really play out over time.

Building links to reviews: Movies, Restaurants, etc
My site has lots of reviews: Movies, TV, Music, Restaurants, etc. I'm looking for sites that take critic reviews and link back to the critic's site. We're already on Metacritic.com and Rottentomatoes.com, which seems to be the two biggies for movies & tv. But I'm sure there are more out there. Also, I'd love to find sites for restaurant reviews (specifically in the Boston area). Are there any lists out there of sites like these? I'm NOT looking for UGC sites that allow user reviews. I'm looking for sites that accept professional critic reviews, preferably via some sort of automated feed. Thanks Mozzers!

Your opinion of link building strategy
Hi all, I just started working on the optimization of highly competitive keywords on one website. I already started posting articles in reputable directories, but as you know, more quality links are needed. To do that I created the following strategy: (see the uploaded image or http://i.imgur.com/9HCiM.png) The idea is to buy new domain and build page rank to this domain by other 3,4 domains that I will buy with PR3. Those 3 domains will contain low quality text generated by spinner just to keep that PR. Then those 3 domains will give PR to the newly created website which will contain only professionally written information and sometimes will give links to me. At the end I will get high quality links. I know it's hard work, but posting PR articles will not be enough. I will continue to spy the competition via SEOMoz OSE but for now that is the idea that I have for quality links. Share your opinion 🙂 9HCiM.png

Link building tools/sites
I am looking for a way to share my content in multiple locations to build back links without having to upload one at a time per location. For example- if i write an article and i upload it to ezine articles and then post it over on my blog- it will then post over on my twitter and facebook and linked in. However- how i can also get this article with back links into shared sites, bookmark sites, and other locations online to help build my inbound marketing for back links. I'm trying to find a way to save time while building out the links.
