Struggling to get indexed and ranked

I am working on a brand new website and really struggling to get the site indexed and listed for it's business name! I don't normally struggle and have got clients ranked for much more challenging keywords so I'm a bit stuck!
The site is a new domain and has been live for about two months. The business previously used an old domain and this has been correctly 301'd to the new domain.
There is no duplicate content with any other website when checked through Copyscape.com
Webmaster Tools has been set-up and verified and this shows the site is being crawled but in Google site:www.website.com.au shows no pages as being indexed.
Google Places has been set-up and verified, the site has also been added to local citation sites.
There are also a few incoming links from other sources.
Robots.txt is fine and has been checked.
Business name mentioned in the title tag, footer and throughout the site.
Does anyone have any ideas how I might be able to get ranked or is it just a waiting game? Or have I missed out something really obvious?? My last step is doing a crawl test to see if this brings up anything I have missed.

This is little funny as a whole...
Usually developers makes a little mistake while developing a website by adding no-index tag in the meta tag area... try and check the code on pages to see if Meta tag does not say no-index, no-follow!
If yes, just remove the tag and submit the sitemap again!
I have the same question as David, Is Bing crawling the website ATM?

Might seem obvious but I've seen pages being robots noindexed via meta tag at the page level, checked for that:?
Have you tried the Fetch as Goole tool in Google Webmaster tools?
Checked for crawl errors in GWT?
Submitted an XML sitemap to Webmaster Tools?
Is Bing indexing it?

Thanks for the response and I don't think anything is overly simple at the moment
I didn't do the 301 redirect but there are no pages of the old domain indexed anymore so it looks like that has been done OK.Karen

Hi Karen,
It sounds like you investigating the right things. You mentioned that the old domain was 301-d to the new domain. My next question might be too obvious, so [please forgive me if it seem overly simple. What about all the pages on the old domain? Are they still indexed? Did you 301 just the domain, or did you also 301 all of the old pages to relevant new pages? I'm just trying to maybe help you get to the bottom of the problem by proceeding down the path you've already started by using the process of elimination.

Redirect effecting ranking?
I manage the SEO for several different regions which are also based on the same site e.g. example.com/au, example.com/us The /us site has pretty good rankings and changes I'm making to the site are having an impact. The /au site has really bad rankings, even though much of the content is the same. (The /uk site is also awful but we had an issue with 4,500 duplicate pages which were only resolved last week). Crawl diagnostics are only showing 1 major error for a 404 response, I'm receiving a domain authority of 43 and A grade page ranking for some of our targeted keywords. I could believe that this isn't necessarily going to get us a top 10 rating but I would have thought we would be in the top 50, especially for branded keywords. Could the lack of ranking be to do with how our domain redirects? If you go to example.com.au you are taken to the home page rather than being redirected to example.com/au. Once you head to an internal page the URL changes to example.com/au/page

Do Sitespect links get indexed?
I put a link on one of my websites using sitespect because the next release is not for a few weeks. The reason for the link is to pass domain authority (SEO Juice) to the linked site. In my next release I will add the link in the actual code, but am hoping that from now till then google will crawl and index this link. Pages to be indexed in Google
Hi, We have 70K posts in our site but Google has scanned 500K pages and these extra pages are category pages or User profile pages. Each category has a page and each user has a page. When we have 90K users so Google has indexed 90K pages of users alone. My question is. Should we leave it as they are or should we block them from being indexed? As we get unwanted landings to the pages and huge bounce rate. If we need to remove what needs to be done? Robots block or Noindex/Nofollow Regards

Should We Index These Category Pages?
Currently we have marked category pages like http://www.yournextshoes.com/celebrities/kim-kardashian/ as follow/noindex as they essentially do not include any original content. On the other hand, for someone searching for Kim Kardashian shoes, it's a highly relevant page as we provide links to all the Kim Kardashian shoe sightings that we have covered. Should we index the category pages or leave them unindexed?

Modx revolution- getting around index.php vs. root duplicate content issue?
Basically, SEOMoz bots are flagging our index.php and root files as duplicate content of one another, therefore cutting the page authority of each. What we want to do is make the root the canonical preference over index.php. Ordinarily, we should be able to do this in the htaccess file. For some reason, as the site has been built into a cms using ModX Revolution, this does not seem to work. We've tried A TON of htaccess rewrite mods to resolve this issue to no avail. We have also tried revising our sitemap to include only the root address. Any ideas? We'll try most anything at this point. Thanks in advance.

What to do if my site was De-indexed?
Hello fellow SEOs, I have been doing SEO for about a year now, I'm not expert, but I know enough to get the job done. I'm learning everyday about better techniques. So enough about that... Tonight I noticed that my site has, I believe, been de-indexed. Its a fairly new site, as we just launched it a few days ago and I went in and did all the title tags and meta. I still have to go in to do the h1 and h2 tags...plus add some alt tags and anchor text. Well anyways, after a couple of days after the title tags were implemented. I was propagating all over the place. Using my keyword tool here...I was number on the first page in Google for 71 or the 88 keywords. My new site was just indexed yesterday and thats when i noticed all my keywords. Well today I noticed that I am no where to be found, even if i type in my company's name. My website pages (www.ommrudraksha.com) is getting good rank slowly. But no good sales ?
My website has been doing good slowly. I have been using seomoz recommendations. And it is a great help to see that my pages are slowly coming to the first page. I am also running PPC on google.
