Google + Business Listing created with lost gmail account

Hi I wondered whether anyone can give me some guidance on how best to tackle this issue. A client of mine has claimed their spot on google Maps and has created a very basic local page on google + but now has forgotten their password for the gmail account. A colleague of mine has tried unsuccessfully to retrieve the password and to claim the listing. Question I have is - would you suggest creating a new gmail account for the client and a completely Google + local and claim the duplicate? I am so wary of local at the moment as the guidelines seem to be constantly shifting. Oh and I am based in New Zealand so all the most recent changes announced for the US haven't meandered their way over as far as here yet!

Unusual Google+ Local listing ranking well
If you search for locksmith Phoenix, this Google+ page is ranked #3 in the local results: https://plus.google.com/117543374216451236579/about?hl=en The phone number is a VOIP number, they don't appear to have many/any citations, no reviews, etc. They've listed the Yelp search results page as their website. Strange. How are they ranking so well? Is Google ranking them well because it's associating them with Yelp.com? Any thoughts?

Merge google plus and google plus business
Hi guys While logged in to my Google account Ive noticed we have 2 Google plus pages. https://plus.google.com/103609762965753667153/posts https://plus.google.com/b/112981948934843525105/112981948934843525105/posts Both accessed through the same email login. One has different posts than the other!! Is there a way to merge both of these? AmI right in thinking one is a personal profile and the other is a business one? We have multiple authors for our blog and each has their own google plus page and correct authorship set up etc but having these 2 pages is more work to manage. Any ideas? ThanksRobert

Thoughts on Google's New NAP Dispaly on Google+ Local
Hi, Do you think ACTION needs to happen based on Google's new NAP formatting change? They are changing Suite or STE to #. So for example 265 Racine Dr #100 Wilmington, NC 28403 Even if you enter in Suite they change it to pound. I am wondering the thoughts of the community of the following: 1. Do you think Google knows that STE, Suite, and # are all the same 2. Do you feel that we need to change ALL online local business listings and our website to match this change. 3. Here is the letter from Google on the matter FROM GOOGLE: Thanks for informing us about your address appearing differently on your local Google+ page than it does on your dashboard. After looking further, we've determined that 240 Stockton St #300 San Francisco, CA 94108 is an appropriate way for your listing to be displayed. Note that the address on your page might be different from what you've input into your dashboard. What to do if your categories are missing from Google Places/Plus page?
A client's Google Places/Plus page used to show four or five categories. Now, Google only shows one category. When I go inside their edit page, all of the categories are still listed. Is this a temporary occurrence? Does anyone have a similar experience or advice on this?None of the competitors seem to have the same issue. Ever since the Google plus integration, it's been impossible to see any changes updated.

Is creating great content not important for Local seo?
I'm helping a friend out with Local SEO/Google Places and his content is lacking - no blog, no articles, etc. I've read the major "How To" guides for Local seo by Andrew Shotland and David Mihm and their ranking factors but I never see anything about content or linkbuilding (aside from directories).

Hi Folks, How to compete against the big SEO-powered pages like Yellowpages in the SERPs? I mean, they have thousands of Rd -> Rd Links as well as super Page and Domain Authority. How has a let's say Dentist or Electrician a decent chance to compete against those? Does Google give credit to them because of the Content they have on their page? These yellowpages totally take the fun out of it for my clients. Answeres would really much appreciated. Thank you. For me it feels like Don Quijote.

What impact will Google removing 3rd party citations from listings have on citations being ranking factors?
So now that Google are going to remove 3rd party citations from listings, will they still carry the same weight for local rankings or will this be reduced? If so, how much and when?
