Will Repeating Shipping Info on product pages affect SEO?
-
Hi Mozzers,
Just wondering what your thoughts are on repeating Shipping Info on each product page? Example: http://www.vintageheirloom.com/classic-black-tweed-shoulder-bag-1368793069
I guess I could simply link to the Shipping Page, but it takes the user away from the product page, not good user experience. Other big brand sites seem to do this, but it just struck me this could be looked as duplication.
Any thoughts on anything I'm doing wrong, always appreciated.
Cheers, Kevin

Hi John,
Ah, thanks for the reassurance and Google article, very helpful.
Thanks for the feedback re my site too.
Cheers...

Hi Kevin
No, I would not worry about that at all.
For your own clarity, here is Google's official stance on duplicate content
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.ie/2008/09/demystifying-duplicate-content-penalty.html
Its quite common for e-Commerce stores to have varying duplicate content snippets, like shipping details, address details. We have e-Commerce stores with similar content on each page without any effects to ranking.
Actually, you have good unique content on each product page, considering its an E-Commerce website, which will hopefully benefit your website going forward
BTW, nice website, really clean and contemporary.
Regards
John

Affect of ™ and ® in title for SEO
I am looking at adding the trademark and rights reserved symbols to some of my titles. I think this might help with click through rate. From what I have found, this shouldn't have an affect on SEO unless it makes the title too long. Is this correct? Stephen

Why will my page description not update??!!
I updated my page title and description along time ago, the title updated but not the description. I updated it in google search console, but it keeps pulling the first few lines from the page content instead, which isn't really an attention grabbing sentence?? Any ideas? Here's the page http://thumannagency.com/personal-insurance/home-insurance This is what my Title/ description comes up as... Homeowners Insurance Quotes Dallas TX | Thumann Agency <cite class="_Rm">thumannagency.com/personal-insurance/home-insurance</cite>When shopping for homeowners insurance in Dallas, TX our local agents will provide you with home insurance quotes from highly rated home insurance ...

What's the best SEO tactics when you have a dedicated web address pointing to a page on a different site?
Hope someone can help with a question I've got about sorting out some duplicate content issues. To simplify the question, imagine there is a website a.com which has a page a.com/newslettersignup. In addition to the a.com domain, there is also a different web address, ashortcut.com, which points to a.com/newslettersignup. ashortcut.com is the web address that is advertised in marketing material etc. So what is the best way then to tell Google etc. that ashortcut.com is the preferred URL for the page which sits at a.com/newslettersignup? The advice I've read about the canonical tag, for example, doesn't cover this exact scenario so although it can support cross-domain information, I'm not sure if that's the best route to follow. Thanks!

Page Title in Local SEO Title Tags?
Hi All, Still working on my title tag usage for local SEO, and I was hoping for some more feedback. My question is this: In Local SEO titles, I'm using location + keyword combinations, unique on each page. However, since each page has a specific title for the client, I figure I should be placing that at the front. My thought here was that this helps with the overall usability to the reader of the website. Ex. Contact Us page for Pizza shop Contact Us | Springfield IN Gourmet Pizza | Moe's Italian Pizza Anyone have thoughts on this one? Thank you!

SEO capability on web pages v blog posts
firstly, apologies if this is a daft question, I am very new to this! We are about to launch a new website (very exciting) and our CEO is mad about incorprating a "tag cloud" because it looks good! Our web designer therefore has to convert all our web pages to "posts" in order for the tag cloud to pick up the "tagged" words associated with the specific pages (soon to be posts). Question: With regards to SEO, will the change from "web page" to "post" have any positive or negative effects? Thanks in advance

Excessive Internal Linking...But it's a product page. What to do?
A few of our companies sites' product pages have the warning about excessive internal links. But these pages are product pages (for example). Should we be worried about this warning? Are there ways to avoid it? Or is it just the nature of the beast...? Thanks in advance!
