Hi,
What would do before you starting a new online business in the financial field for preventing reputation issues and start to branding your new company name?
Which services / tools would you choose to use?
Thanks in advance.
-
First of all thanks for your wonderful response.
Now, what is the first steps you will make to start build your reputation back-up?
- Create a social activity like: Facebook, linkedin, Google plus etc?
- Build you own site in a few languages with high quality contents via wordpress multisite / joomla?
- Work on a press release plan?
- How will you track and measure about the value of all actions you will do?
I have another small question for you pleas:
In case are you going to work with many affiliates for your online business, there is any way they will ranked higher then your company main site?
I suggest to build our brand for a few month in advance and then start to work with affiliates but our owner refuse to work this way.
Hope to get your help again.
Thanks.

In most cases the financial field created quite of reputation problems so that's why I'm trying to find a way (with your great support ; ) to create some kind of protections for our Brand in case there will be some reputation problems.

I think you are referring to the fact that many frown upon many financial institutions and you want to build a great name for yourself if someone researches your company correct?
Moz has many great tools to get you started for this.
I work for very large financial instutions like banks, credit unions, tax refunds, cpas, CA's, payday loans, etc. I hold rankings like payday loans, cash loans, and 426 other financial terms all that get 150 + exact hits per month. So I am decent in this area. So I can tell you a little about this field.
1. This is very competitive. Don't think for a second that the company above you wont write 100 articles bad about your company. Don't think that for a second they wont try negative SEO. I had a company spending $10 a day on 100 word articles and submitting it to blog networks like linkvana, etc., just to try to bring them down in the SERPS.
2. You are going to want an ethical everyday site to use that you only use the safest tactics on possible. Never use a questionable tactic on this site to rank it up ever. Use very clean tactics like prweb, high quality guest posts 1 anchor per post and make sure your link is natural. Engage in social media marketing a lot to try to build up your brand name. A free $25 gift card of some type goes a long way on Facebook if you offer it for a competition or some goal you want to meet.
3. You are going to want several rinse and repeat sites where you rank them up quickly to grab top spots and let Google penalize them in 3 months or so. The reason you want this, is because 90% of the top terms for financial is going to have others do this. I ran into companies using hacks where they would inject footer links into popular sites after they hacked them. They would make private networks and buy every domain possible with DA 50+ and even if it was irrelevant they would still place their link on it. The point is, you will have to do these if you want to rank for competitive terms in your field regardless of what anyone says.
Other than Moz I can't recommend much other than hootsuite, maybe some email marketing, mobile marketing, etc.. Other than this, Prweb's financial press release is great. It's going to take a lot of hard work and dedication in the financial niche so be patient and get ready for a ride you will never forget. It took me a long time to get the hang of it, but when you do, you will understand what I am referring to above.
Have a great night.

Hi Joni,
Your question is a little vague? By preventing reputation issues are you talking about reputation management? I imagine you wouldn't need that immediately if you are a new company as one would hope you don't have any negative reviews prior to opening?
In regards to starting to brand your new company it is less about tools and more about assets i.e. where can your clients go to find out about you and engage with you? Most businesses generally build websites and social media properties.
I hope this steers you on the right direction, but if you can clarify what you actually need I can give you some clearer advice.

Two companies merging into a new website. How to merge two existing websites into a brand new website and preserve search rankings.
Brand A and Brand B are merging to form Brand C. Brand A has a great search presence (prominent rankings, answer boxes, and impressive organic traffic). Brand B has a good reputation in real life but their web presence was extremely weak (we've been helping with that over the past few months and it is improving). What are the steps we need to take? The previous domains from Brand A and Brand B are going away and we need to promote the newly minted Brand C website. This Q/A summarizes what we want to do but with one exception: They only discuss merging Brand A into BRand B and there is no Brand C.

Kickstarting a New Site
We have recently launched a new website, (domain has been registered to us for a time - just never got round to developing the website). Any suggestions on kickstarting quality traffic to get the ball rolling? Basic on page SEO work has been done and a little bit of link building, although the latter has been rather difficult to find bona fides sources. So far most of the traffic comes via referrals from bot's no actual valuable referrals or organic traffic (According to GA). And by the way, I'm NOT interested in people offering traffic bots 🙂 I'm just looking at ways of getting the site established organically, not interested in PPC at the minute. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. P.S. Please keep your answers as short as possible, I will request if I need any more information. Also please note down if you had a positive experience of your suggestion actually working. Many Thanks

How to Force Merge 2 Place Listings (Both Incorrect & Different) for Same Business
Hi,
Branding | | emerald
I'm not sure what action to follow as nothing online seems to describe my Google Place situation - trying to merge 2 completely incorrect business listings for our company, that are also not identical. We have 2 listings on Google Places for our 1 company but a recent address number change has added further complication to already incorrect and different listings. our first/oldest listing was created by google but with incomplete business name, wrong map pin, completely wrong address, but shows our trip advisor reviews. created by us a year ago (we didn't realize the dupe issues) with full business name, correct address at the time (now incorrect since address number change), correct map pin, full description photos and info. This does not link to our trip advisor reviews. How to merge these when they aren't curently identical or correct? All online help seems to explain identical dupes but not this situation. What updates I tried recently: After some research, I changed all citations on the web to no.2 business name (except trip advisor who would not change), our new address number and then updated our no.2 address listing. But has stayed pending for months. It seems to be live, but still with the old incorrect address that does not match citations or our website. When I tried claiming both places with same account it showed the same pending new info I updated for no.2 in dashboard (so I can't edit no.1), but this data is not is not live on either. Last week I decided to do something radical, so logged in with a different account to reclaim no.1 and copied all information pending in no.2 to no.1 so that they should be exact same and hopefully force to merge. Both are pending and 2 different accounts now. What else can I do? We can rank locally while the 2 listings are like this. Should I call Google helpline and explain?0 -
Why has Google started to re-write my page titles?
Since earlier this week I've noticed that Google has started to re-write several of our page titles and I'm not entirely sure why - does anyone have any info? We are a UK business and currently have top spot for the keyword 'toilet cubicles' - however, our index.html page title has changed as follows: FROM: Toilet Cubicles | WC Panel Systems for Washrooms | Cubicle Centre TO: Cubicle Centre: Toilet Cubicles | WC Panel Systems for Washrooms Is this Google favouring a more brand-led approach to search? Be interesting to hear everyone's thoughts... Cheers, Craig.

Google+ business pages and Schema.org
Hi All, I'm an SEO for a company that runs a number of brands. I'm in the process of setting up the Google+ pages for these brands and decided to watch the Microformats & Schema.org - Real life Use Cases - Mozinar by Richard Baxter and the Online Reputation Management: Branding for SERP Domination Mozinar by Rhea Drysdale to help understand the best way to achieve this. One of the suggestions by Richard Baxter was to include the authorship schema.org, but I can't see how this can be done for an organisation instead of an individual. My question is, how do you manage authorship when your not able to link websites to Google+ business pages, only profiles? How have you managed this on SEOMoz for example? Hope you can help. Thanks Jojo

Link local online newspaper ad to newspaper's spash page or my site?
We just started advertising on the web version of our local newspaper. They suggest our ads go to a "splash page" they created for us on their site. The page haslinks , images and text taken from each of our main categories,. Plus links and feeds from our twitter and facebook pages. And a google map. This page shows a page authority 1 with 0 links. Is there any reason to link our ad to a page like this rather than going direct to our website page? Thank you Handcrafter

Business Acquisition: Balancing SEO and Customer Awareness
I'm looking for opinions on the following scenario: SuperWidgets buys GreatWidgets. That business acquisition involves the purchase of GreatWidgets.com, a standard but well-established website with some nice backlinks. The business acquisition is communicated to previous customers of GreatWidgets through the normal channels. What should be done with GreatWidgets.com. Re-direct to a splash page informing visitors of the acquisition? 301 page-to-page for directly relevant content? If a splash page, how long would you keep it up? Also, any opinions on how to handle any non-claimed local listings for the now-acquired business? Claimed ones will of course be handled, but what about the non-claimed and unclaimable?

List Quick and Dirty places to seo-tag images/content for new brands
I'm helping a new brand (service industry) to try to dominate the first page for their own name. They have a name that also exists in another state AND a negative Yelp review which (shows up #4, whilst they show up #1 on google unpersonalized search). Aside from Linkedin/Facebook/twitter, what are good places to Tag Images and have them show up under the search for this company's name. This is a picture/heavy industry (jewelry) and I'm looking to create profiles on several sites that would immediately show up if I tag the content properly. Are quora/pinterest good choices? I need to grab-bag as many properties as possible. Secondary question: would these properties on quora etc, respond well to exact-match anchor text links to shoot them past the negative yelp rating that is showing up #4 for their brand?
