Should I use a Google Plus page or Google Plus for my business?
-
I am looking to write regular good quality blog posts about the niche subject my business is in.
Should these blog posts come from a Google Plus page or my personal Google Plus profile?
These blog posts will feature on our company website.
How does that effect Google Authorship etc...
Thanks

I have to agree with Rich. I do the same thing. My company page is linked to the site and I am setup as the author using Rel author. I see both my company and my authorship listed when running third party tools.

Are you posting the articles on your site? if so i believe you can probably do both here, the Business account can be linked to the website and you can also promote the posts through here, and you could use Rel author to associate the article to your personal account in order to build a reputatuion as an authority. If you will have multiple writers contributing that may move on then maybe using rel publisher and focusing on building the brand reputation may be better.

Hey Everyone, I've been wondering for the longest time if I should use my Google Apps business account google plus profile or just continue to use my personal google plus profile. MY personal account is what I am currently using. Does it really matter? Thank you for your input!

Facebook Likes, Google +1s tactic - is this a good idea
Hello, For our eCommerce site, we're considering doing the following: When people call in to place an order by phone, we take their order and tell them while we have them on the phone that if they click the Facebook Like button and Google +1 button on our site's home page, we'll knock $3 off their total. We would just show them where the buttons are and refresh our screen to make sure the count went up by one like and one +1 when the customer said that they pressed the buttons. Then, we would continue with their phone order and just knock off $3.00 I may not do this just because it may be grey hat, but it seems 100% safe forever. If you recommend against doing this, can you think of any 100% white hat way to do the same thing? Thanks.

Social Icons Link to Inner Pages
We have the social icons (facebook, twitter, youtube etc) in the footer of our homepage linked to inner pages instead of our actual social accounts. So, if you click on the facebook icon you go to one of our inner pages talking about our facebook profile and why to like us on facebook. Then on this inner page you can get to our facebook profile. We do this so we can pass on PR juice from our homepage to our inner page, and not lose it right off our front page. Is this a good idea? Or does it just confuse users? Most people think when they click on a facebook icon they will go to an actual facebook profile. Here is my homepage, http://www.buyautoparts.com/ click on the icons on the footer and let me know your thoughts.

Adult dating site. How can I get people to share content on facebook or google plus..
I am working on http://www.top-10-dating-reviews.com an adult dating review website. I want to build a presence on social networks so have set up twitter, google plus, and a facebook page. As I understand it retweets, like, shares etc... Play a significant part in seo. Therefore I want to get as many shares etc as possible. My initial idea was to create a fan page on facebook and pay to promote it on facebook gaining likes on the fan page. Will likes on the fan page impact the main site? I would imagine not? However I can see how someone visiting the main site and liking a post would have a positive effect on rankings. The problem I've come into is facebook won't run the ads as the page is adult so they won't accept paid ads. If I add a post to the facebook page how can I get it in front of people to share or like it? Equally how can I get google plus shares? I'm new to social and am unsure of how I should proceed? Especially as facebook considers the page adult. Finally how important is social. I've read it can get short term wins and optimised posts can appear at the top of search results but don't stay there long. Link building is still the long term strategy?

Current and Potential Impact of Google+ on SERPs and ranking
After watching Rand & Dharmesh's The State of SEO and Internet Marketing in 2012 webinar, I've been trying to learn more about the (current and potential long-term) impact of Google+ on SERPS and ranking. How can one leverage Google+ to improve SEO? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks! Sherry

Does the value of Twitter/FB shares change depending on the url used?
I have a really hard time wrapping my head around the use rel canonical. I just watched WBF and it brought up a question that I had. I had a situation where some of my pages could be accessed a couple of ways: www.mydomain/question1.php?id=24-keyword-rich-url, or www.mydomain/question1.php?id=24 I used rel canonical to tell the search engines that the keyword rich url was the one to index. Now, we all know that shares on Twitter, FB, etc. can add value to my site's SEO. So, if someone happens to be on the non-keyword-rich url and they click a button to share, do I still get the same seo benefit? Which brings me to a related question...if someone shares your content via a bitly or other shortened domain, is there any difference to the benefit you would get as compared to them sharing the full domain name?
