Landing Pages
-
My question is with regards to my Adwords campaign. Is it best practice to have the user, or potential customers, land on a single page landing page or to an actual website? Does a single page landing page, with no other links, help with conversion?
i would be greatful for any opionion.

setup an A/B test......measure results ...then pick a winning strategy for your product.
I have clients that perform better pointing traffic to a relevant page on their website (usually products with longer buying cycles).
And I have other clients that perform best pointing traffic to a landing page with no other click options...all clicks lead down the conversion path. These are usually impulse buys, "free trial" signups, low cost products, etc.
The real question is , what works best for your product/company. Setup an A/B test..measure results ...then pick a winning strategy for you

Just to piggyback a bit off of Marcus's point -- the benefit of PPC is that you can get a lot of information in a short period of time (at a cost though of course). Generally, I agree with Marcus' advice, but the key to PPC is experimentation and learning from what works for you, your site, and your visitors/customers and then what doesn't.
i.e. You can set up the two campaigns run them head to head and see what converts better.

Hey Robert
As ever, it all depends but as a general rule of thumb you want consistent messaging throughout.
We are looking for consistency throughout:
- Keywords Targeted
- Advert Copy
- Landing page copy and goals
If we go with the tired old green widgets example then:
- Keyword: Cheap Green Widgets
- Advert Title: Cheap Green Widgets
- Landing Page Title: Cheap Green Widgets
The action we want the client to take is tightly aligned from keyword, to advert to landing page copy.
This approach can increase quality scores so give you better placement for less money and more importantly we don't want to pay people to visit unless they are as likely as possible to follow through to whatever our conversion goal is.
Hope that helps!
Marcus

Individual statistics (not aggregated) for 'local pack' and 'organic search results' when both on the same page
Hi, For a particular keyword combination we show up on the local pack but also on the organic search results on the 1st page. I have never been able to find out what the CTR, #clicks, conversions for this two different kinds of positions are individually. The aggregate figures I can find out in Google Search Console / Analytics, but I would like to know on an individual level as I am testing out different things. With the statistics on Google My Business I can't get along actually...no CTR as far as i know. Any hint? Cheers, Cesare

How can I track if a landing page assists a lead/goal to another page in Google Analytics?
For example, I'm running a PPC campaign for site.com/landing-page and it consists of different product pages like below: site.com/product-1 site.com/product-2 site.com/product-3 How to determine if /landing-page assists a lead/goal to a specific product page in Analytics? Example scenario: /landing-page -> /product-3 -> Lead TIA!

Any General feedback or Experience on Page Titles and Click Through Rates ?
Moz, I have managed to climb onto page one for a couple of keywords i am really happy with, Just looking for any feedback on page titles and different effects on CTR The page i am working with is product pages I tried a simple headline which was a branded product keyword, this way when the keyword matches the user search it will stand out as the the majority of the title is bold because of this match,, Example below
Jeffs Lollipops
and my other option is to look at testing a more descriptive title to fit the limit
A selection of sweet Strawberry and Cherry Lollipops from Jeff<//Title>

has anyone looked into this and tested for results in CTR ? i can see there being a youmoz about it somewhere?

Alot of people i assume will just say test test test, but any feedback on how other moz users tackle title tags for CTR would be great,

Thanks

James

Help with ecommerce duplicate pages and SEO advice(magento base site)
Hi, We have a magento build site (www.mokee.eu) and are selling our own branded goods. So far it is a very limited range of products. It's 1 baby crib in 5 variations. We recently started getting more sales from the site, so I started to look a bit more into optimising our site. I rewrote item name, created better descriptions, added meta titles and description etc. and subscribed to the MOZ analytics platform to understand a bit better ways to improve things up. From what I saw we have a big issue of duplicated content because our product pages are the same and only the product colour changes, which is something google apparently doesn't like However it is important for us that each colour get referenced by google so people who search for grey cot can find a picture of our grey cot etc... Also I was thinking to create only on multi variation page with all colour but when you have only 1 product to sell it might look a bit empty on the site. 1- Do you guys have some advise on how to go round this issue? 2- Do you have any other advise for my site in particular to optimise things and actually do you think i should be worried at all with such a small catalogue? Thanks Sam

Duplicating Product Titles in the Page-Content
I have been debating this with a few others within my office and we would like an outside opinion on this issue. This screenshot is of a new product grid I have been designing. I have decided to try something new for SEO that I have seen elsewhere. (see attached image) The page-content below the last products on the page, now have a small paragraph that contains all the products "titles" that are visible on the page. The intention is to capitalize on multiple search terms by using modifiers to replace special character sets within the title. For example: 46" 3 Seat Perforated Square Picnic Table = 46 Inch 3 Seat Perforated Square Picnic Table Not only does this give a secondary search term that could convert but increases the number if instances of "Table" within the page. Suggestions or Thoughts? Thanks! GviGn.jpg

Landing Page Conversion Rates
I had a client claiming his industry (replacement home windows) conversion rate was around 15% based on his research. In my research i could find nothing of the sort, and really couldn't find a single place that provided this type of information. Anyone out there have some advice on where to research industry conversion rates (averages) or tools/thought processes to explore? Thanks! (these stats would primarily be used for goal setting and competitive analysis)

Landing Page Conversion
Hi, I'm having a few issues with my landing page conversion. I have followed several guides found on this site (especially the unbounce.com ones) but what'ever I try my landing page CRO doesn't seem to increase. the landing page in question is http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk/find-driving-test-cancellations. I'm getting traffic to my landing page solely through PPC traffic from Google. My stats are rough as follows: Arrive at landing page - 100% (obviously)

Click through to buy now page - 15-20%
Actually complete the buy now process - 1% Conversion from organic traffic landing directly on the homepage at http://www.drivingtestnow.co.uk is having a conversion rate of about 5%. It seems odd to me that my highly targeted ad campaign and landing page are convertign so badly compared to the less atrgeted organic search traffic and homepage. Have you got any ideas why this might be occurring and also any tips on how I can improve the conversion rate for my product? Gary...0
