Will feeding a blog through a widget onto a wix site help rankings?
-
I have a client I am writing blog content for, however his site was recently redesigned on wix html5. They offer no native blog. I have used a widget to embed blog from another site, however does this help seo in any way? When people share on social media, etc., it is linking the embedded page, not the clients site, right? So it would not be giving any link juice to site. It also doesn't help for organic search of content if it is embedded, is that right?
I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to overcome this issue. Would creating a "faux" blog on the Wix site work (as in multiple pages that I would then categorize and link to each other to navigate like a blog myself)? Wix looks like it has page length maximums too, so I'm not sure how I would get around that. It is also clunky to share on social media without a "share" button for viewer, but perhaps I am mistaken.
Is that a ridiculous solution? What have other people done to deal with this issue and get better rankings with Wix platform?
Thanks in advance for any input! I'm feeling a little frustrated with what to do.

Why would you stick with the platform?
You seem to already clearly understand it is not future proof for your client. Cut bait now and move to a better platform that will give you all the SEO advantages. IMHO that would be Wordpress.

Subdomains, blogs and redirects, oh my!
Hello! We are currently hosting our blog on Medium which I would like to move away from. The options now are to host the blog with our custom CMS or use the HubSpot blog capabilities. I know their blog has built-in SEO best practices but I'm pretty sure it hosts the blog on a subdomain. I keep getting conflicting advice on this. In a whiteboard Friday Rand once said to NEVER host on a subdomain. But I know that google now associates links that redirect to the original site. I.e. If redpepperland.com redirects to repepper.land then redpepper.land should have all the link juice of redpepperland.com, right? But Moz doesn't recognize any inbound links to redpepper.land, I have to actually put redpepperland.com in as an additional site to see those links and the domain authority which worries me. So I guess two questions: 1. Does anyone have experience with Hubspot's blog? Will the subdomain hurt our SEO efforts? 2. Does google now know how to associate a redirect's link juice and domain authority to the page it redirects to? Not sure I know what I'm talking about at all but any help would be greatly appreciated!

How Many Keywords & How Will They Take to Rank?
Hi Guys Just taken on a new site with around 80 keywords with no links because the site is new. Each page is optimised correctly, very user friendly with completely unique content for each and every page. I'm interested to know what would be your online marketing "plan" for such site to begin ranking. Thanks Gary

Anchor Text vs Rankings!
Let's say I have a page about houses for sale (which has the biggest number of search queries/month). I want to rank with that page for another variations like house for sale, and house sale. Now, if i build links only with anchor text **houses for sale **(presuming that Google is OK with that) and i will take top 3 for that KW, i will rank very high too for the other two combinations of words? Or Google treats different plural vs singular and the stop word for. This is an example based on site for one client of mine. His site is about Hotels in Mamaia (hoteluri in mamaia in romanian) and i build links with anchor text hoteluri in mamaia. For this KW i took pos 4 but for hoteluri mamaia i am on page 9 from Google.ro. These two combinations of words are 90% the same in my language. For you to know hoteluri mamaia has bigger numeber of search queries/month (6 600 vs 260).

Page Rank Update
I was hit by Google’s latest Page Rank update. I know “don’t be obsessed with Page Rank”, but it concerns me. I thought that I was developing a very good link profile and actually was hopeful that it would go to a PR-5 and it dropped to a PR-3. www.simply-bags.com I have another site www.keepsakes-etc.com and have done very little link building and it also dropped to a PR-3. Can anyone give me some honest feedback about my concern?

Keywords Ranking Secret?
When I searched "long dresses" in Google.com, and found the following page is ranked on top 10 http://www.shopstyle.com/browse?fts=long+summer+dresses But there is no back link pointing to this page, so why does this company manage to rank high for such a competitive keyword without link building? Any opinions?
