I am looking for a reputable Q&A forum vendor. Any suggestions?

A vendor who has high domain authority; with a platform that is social media integrated, can provide a backup database, has advanced navigation options, is designed to be SEO savvy among other things...
And basically anything that I can make look similar to the SEOmoz Forum!

Thanks for the helpful advice everyone. Xenforo looks like it has everything what we need.

If you are seeking forum software that can meet your needs I highly recommend XenForo http://xenforo.com/
Facebook automatic logins and likes are integrated into the platform along with twitter widgets. SEO is integrated into the base software also with features such as friendly URLs, thread id's which allow threads to be moved without breaking URLs, HTML 5 data embedded into breadcrumbs which Google reads, and more.
I am not clear on your "provide a backup database" request. Any forum software is database dependent, and you will want to back it up regularly with a simple script. I am also not clear on "advanced navigation options".
I was in the market for forum software in January. I used phpBB previously and was very unsatisfied, but then again it was a free forum solution. I investigated IPB, vBulletin and a couple other solutions thoroughly and took the risk of going with XenForo as it was a new company. I couldn't be happier, and purchased another license this week with plans to buy more in the future.

In case you're asking about how to build a Q&A site you will likely find this link useful:
http://engineeredweb.com/blog/09/11/building-stack-overflow-clone-drupal-part-1
I also built http://www.adoptionexperts.org in drupal in about 3 days. Its a fairly simple thing to get set up, hard to seed with good content.

If you are looking for an open source solution, I recommend phpBB (http://www.phpbb.com/). We have used it for a few years for our forum and I'm happy with it.

Social Media & SEO
Hi Does anyone have any good articles or case studies on how SEO/Social compliment each other? I know the benefits, I just need something tangible to show management, which justifies me spending more time on it. I currently do a lot of onsite SEO, but I know we're missing the content marketing/social media aspect and it's something I want to push. Any help would be great 🙂 Becky

Is it possible to get demographic data for a certain section of the website and only that area and not the whole site? Tools? Analytics? Suggestion.
I have a /blog/ section of the site that we would like to have separate demographic data for. But I am unable to figure out the way to create it in a custom report. Is there steps I need to include?

Is hootsuite damaging my online reputation?
Hi guys. I'm new to all this so bare with me. I've been using hootsuite to send out tweets. Originally the person doing it before me was sending them out every 5 or 10 minutes and repeating quite a bit. I've since reduced it to a tweet every 15 minutes and when there's something new on the site I tend to tweet it out about 3 times a day for the next three days at different times of day to try and make sure nobody sees the same thing too often. Obviously these numbers are significantly less for facebook and even fewer for linkedin. Am I still repeating myself too often? I'm trying very hard to find a balance between what people see as spamming and making sure that all our followers get a chance to see each new post. Any feedback would be really appreciated.

Looking for a specific article by Rand or others
Hi Everyone, I am looking for an article (can't remember the name of it) that has these concepts. I believe Rand wrote one not too long ago but I cannot remember the name. Inbound links from Social Media Sites do not help your SEO. There is correlation but that is it. Traffic generated from Social Media sites may be an indicator to Google and a SEO ranking factor. It is the traffic not the link that Google is consider as a ranking factor. Google plus - so there have been many articles saying that Google + helps your rankings. I believe I saw one by Rand saying this is not true. There is correlation but not causation. I am trying to explain to my students how social media really benefits SEO and make them think beyond "the link". Any other articles suggested are also appreciated Thanks Carla

Social Signals, do they help? Looking for a solid Yes or No.
Hi, I've read so much lately about social signals and got basically 3 completely different responses. 1. Yes they are going to over take normal link building in 2013 so get on it. 2. Yeah they do help with rankings but not massively, don't focus to much on it. 3. Na they don't help, you need to gain 1000's of signals and even then it will be a short SERP increase and then back down you go. So... What im looking for now is a straight up Yes or No, should you be on social signals now? Should time spent on gaining social signals be increased? If your doing 10% of your time on social should this percent now shift to a larger percentage? Cheers

Redesigning our agency site. A blank slate, any suggestions...?
I'm an SEO at a Web Design Agency and we are just about to start work on a new site. We have a complete blank slate to work with and the designers / developers will honor any requests I make. I'm not asking you guys to do my job for me, I've been doing a lot of research and I have a large feature set ready. However I am interested in what you guys would go for in this situation. What cool new SEO features can we use? Any examples of websites that you like? The creatives are very keen on HTML5, parallex scrolling and very minimalist design. I need to make sure we can achieve these things whilst also have a super optimised site. Any suggestions / examples? Thanks

Best strategy for optimizing Facebook annotations in Bing & Yahoo
My website has a page on Facebook with around 32K connections, these are not showing up in Bing's serp annotations because Bing is not associating my page with the website. Unsure why because I have closed loop links and used their Page Like Box to generate those 32K connections. I have Facebook insights and Bing webmaster tools authorized for the domain Does anyone know how I can ensure Bing makes that connection? If that's not possible, would it be more advantageous to drive likes to my sitewide domain or specific pages? My testing on Bing suggests the domain level like is most likely to trigger annotations, even for deeper pages with no specific likes. http://ministry-to-children.com/ http://www.facebook.com/MinistryToChildren
