Rel Publisher Tag is showing in SERPS, with Rel Author Picture
-
Hi,
This is occurring on a few of my pages on a website I manage.
Our homepage, which only has the correct rel publisher code to our brand Google+ page, just started this weekend showing with Rel Author rich snippet.
Also, a test with Google's rich snippet testing tool shows the correct Brand Page and Logo, not authorship. Only is SERPS does it show incorrectly
Has anyone had this happen, and how did you overcome?

Sorry, didn't notice the date of the original post (apparently got assigned clean-up on this one). Thanks for the update. It's really frustrating trying to sort out what works and doesn't work, especially for something that seems like it should be pretty straightforward. If we can't sort it out, what's your everyday webmaster supposed to do?
-
Thanks!
Yeah it was a pretty big brand issue - Although, I cannot say with full ceartainty this below fixed it (since I do not want to put it back to test and have it possibly re-appear)
I changed the "Contributor" section link to our blog instead of root domain in G+ author account.
A few days later, even after removing publisher on homepage our Google + still showed up on the right side (G+ connect) for our brand terms and the correct author showed up for articles in blog.
But the internal pages (not on blog) with Publisher, stopped showing Author picture without removing publisher tag.
Maybe this will help someone else!

Truthfully, we're having a terrible time with authorship here on Moz. Google is showing avatars of commenters and all sorts of weird stuff, and this is without even putting rel-publisher into the mix.
Wish I had some answers, but from what I'm seeing with new Google features, this landscape is evolving so quickly that they haven't really figured out how best to promote and display publisher info. Trying to tweak the signals to remove authorship could backfire, so I'd honestly probably let it ride for a couple of months unless it's a major issue for the brand. I don't know of any way to tell Google to remove a rich snippet.

I'm currently in the same situation you are, haven't been able to fix it as of late. I've noticed it with a bunch of competitors as well.

As stated above, Rel Author is not anywhere, or rel Author association signals anywhere on the page, I know they "are testing things" right now (aren't they always) But wondering specifically anyone else was seeing this Rel Author/Rel Publisher transposition
-
they are testing things right now but what you see with authorship is pretty normal. If you homepage shows both rel author and rel publisher, it will show the author most of the time. They dont show the logo/publisher picture in the serps normally but they have started testing it recently.

How to regain Facebook Page Authority - For page badly affected with spam users
Case- company Facebook page has more than 10K users and almost 50% are spam. When this happens, edge rank of the page is badly affected (because spam users are not interested in your shared content so they hide you/remove you from feed and of course never engage). Not to mention Facebook released an update end of 2014 where page will have less visibility anyway compared to user updates. Overall the Page updates get very less exposure / impressions Now only solution is to remove this huge no of spam users one by one or by an API. Question - Does removing the spam users regain the authority of the page ? Does that solve the overall issue ? What are the other solution to fix the situation ? Thanks.

Why isn't my Facebook page showing up in search results?
When I search directly for imageworks creative facebook page on Google, I get many results - some of which are not mine and some of which are listings from other citation sites like Manta. I did a site: search and I do see that the page is indexed by Google, but it's pretty important that we get a better ranking than we currently have! This is the Facebook url: https://www.facebook.com/ImageWorksCreative As part of our rebranding, we did have the URL changed from /imageworksstudio, but that was well over a month ago. I feel as though Google should have caught up by now. Any thoughts on how we can get our FB profile onto the front page?

Pintrest links not showing on Open Site Explorer
Hi, sorry for the 'simple' question, but I have one client who has a Pintrest link which shows up on the Open site Explorer (Page Authority 60, Domain Authority 100) and a second client who also uses Pintrest but their link doesn't show up on Open Site Explorer. I didn't set either of the clients' Pintrest pages up myself, but I can't see why the 2nd client's page isn't showing up in Open site explorer:- http://pinterest.com/unilifestudents/photoshoot-park-house/

Google+ Doesn't Show my Post Title
When I create a new blog post and link to it on Google+, the thumbnail & description are correct, but the HTML title it pulls in is just the company name. I have the proper HTML title tag and OpenGraph tagging on the page too, but lately (last 3 posts) it just shows company name: Here's an example. It used to work on the first handful of posts, but the last 3 or 4, it just show the "Company Name" next to the thumbnail image & above the description. <title>Some blog post title - Company Name</name></p> <p>...</p> <p>...</p> <p><span><meta </span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-name">property</span><span>='</span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-value">og:title</span><span>' </span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-name">content</span><span>='</span><span class="webkit-html-attribute-value">Some blog post title - Company Name</span><span>'/></span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p></title>

Leverage other peoples author rank for your site?
Hi quick question, lets say you find writers in your niche and get them to do a guest post for your site and they have also built up alot of author rank (active google+ account, tones of social media followers). From my understanding you cannot leverage their author rank for your site since their google+ profile needs to be connected to your site? Unless it connected, you will not get any author rank benefit? Cheers, Mark

Google + Profile in Serps
Hello, Ive noticed some of my competitors show up with both verified and non-verified Google+ Icon, and recent activity showing to the right usually where PPC shows. Is it possible for smaller sized businesses to accomplish something like this? Im assuming this is not paid? Thank You

Looking through Google analytics today and noticed that there is a section under top content that shows number of Facebook likes & shares, tweets, diggs, delicious book marks, etc. Anyone else seeing this? [staff note: see answers, this came from a Chrome extension]
