Links - In need of ideas

Hi there!
I have tried my best to get quality back links to my http://www.petmedicalcenter.com site but I feel like I have hit a wall. I have searched my competition to see what links they are getting and have been successful with some. Some websites just don't respond. Are there any valuable resources I am missing? Or ideas?
My biggest concern is ranking well for the search term "vet las vegas" and "las vegas veterinarians". So far I have managed to get to the second page on Google.

"Vet Las Vegas" seems like a perfect keyword for you. I would not suggest targeting "Las Vegas veterinarians". No one will type that phrase into google when performing a search. Google will relate other phrases to that phrase of course, but why take the indirect route when you can directly target more relevant key phrases. I would try even minor tweaks like "vets Las Vegas", "Las Vegas vet", or even "pet dr Las Vegas" before I thought of "Las Vegas veterinarians".

Your site title has the keyword "Vet Las Vegas". The keyword is not used on your home page even once. You use "Pet Medical Center of Las Vegas" six times. You rank #1 for the term. It appears you have plenty of opportunities to work in better phrases.
How about change ""Keep In Touch: Be the first to learn about news, tips, and special offers from Pet Medical Center of Las Vegas." Possibly change "Keep In Touch" to "Are you looking for a Las Vegas Vet?".
Also "Providing Excellence In Veterinary Care For Dogs and Cats Since 1993." could be changed to "Providing Excellence in Las Vegas Vet care for Dogs and Cats since 1993".
You asked about links. You only have 4 links from 2 domains. The world is open to you. Local directories, hotels that allow pets, police departments, pet groomers, etc. Anyone and everyone who both has a web site and may direct people to your office should be a target.
A sign in your lobby or exam rooms would be great. When I take my cat to the vet, I wind up reading the labels on specialized pet food because there is nothing else to do. How about asking your satisfied customers for a link? A simple sign asking others to link to your site can help.

Getting a sitewide links from one domain as oppsed to few links from certain pages, a good, bad or horrible idea?
Hello, I have a website that is performing really well in Google for country specific Real Estate Website. I have had this site for just about 2 years and I have 4600+ indexed pages, and about 50 of my main keywords appear in top 10 results on Google. I have now started a second site with a brand new domain, its only about 2 months old. This one is a Travel website and again its country specific (same country that real estate website is performing well in) and since its still building up the content and has barely a couple of backlinks, I am thinking of adding a linkback to it from my Real Estate Site. Is it a good idea to add a site wide link back from header section of the real estate website to my travel website? Both sites has same country and most of the keywords in both relate to this country. Or will I be better off adding a few text links from few pages with best Page Authority? Or - do you suggest that I do not link the two at all? Both sites are hosted on different servers, with different IP's and one is on windows server created in asp.net while another is a magento site. Any advidce / insight will be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

I'm doing some SEO for small niche service sites...and aside from niche directories and some light article marketing and local search directories (yelp, etc) there really isn't a budget for content generation. I really only have a budget for profile/submission links. What are some sites where you can quite easily fill out a personal profile with an anchor text variable link that may not be THAT juicy but will stick (i.e. not a spam/fake profile type of link, but something like Linkedin). I'll start with giving away 1 www.istockphoto.com Any others that aren't obvious?

Broken back links
I have noticed that some of the back links built for us by our SEO agency we have no longer work. Is there is a common view on the percentage of back links generally do not work say after a year or so. If there is an acceptable number, want to give to my SEO agency as a KPI?

I think that we as webmasters have to ask ourselves what do we want to achieve with link building. To get quick traffic or build slow authority links, high rankings, lead generation, sales & other things here I may be missing etcccc Other Objective Networking & Relationship Building Alliances : What I discovered today is that building links for 1st page rankings are great and will provide me with steady traffic, but not all of it is targeted traffic, but what else can I do to bring targeted traffic and at the same time try to build alliances with other related non competing business owners online. The idea... is to apply old school networking / relationship building alliances to get targeted traffic to my site that can actually benefit from my services. How Do We Achieve This I become a editor for approving resource links for me site, only the best will be placed on my site as a resource. Build a valuable tightly themed categorized resource section with related non competing resources that can help my sites visitors find what they are looking for, send visitors to non competing resources that may purchase their services which helps me build a relationship with them, and may can with rankings as well, provided I am selective with my qualification process. What link would be better?
Okay, I found a niche blog that has a google PR6. They have a ton of dollow blogroll links, as well as a ton of internal links on homepage. Would I be better off getting the blogroll link? Getting a link in an existing post with a lower PR? Getting an advertiorial written with a link in it? I just don't know. It has a domain authority of 33 currently. It's not a cheap link for blogroll. The in-post, or advertorial isn't too bad, but not cheap either. Thanks in advance.
