What's the point of my blog?

My website, www.toplinecomms.com has a reasonably good blog that gets quite good interaction and sharing. I introduced the blog at the start of 2013 because the general sentiment from all the SEO books and articles I had read was that a good blog could be invaluable to a search marketing campaign.
The posts on the blog are keyword optimised and they get great shares and social engagement.
However, I have noticed that the blog is stealing my services' pages' thunder! There are some keywords that I am keen for our services pages to rank for, but the blog is beating them to it!
So my question is: How should I be using my blog to get my services pages to rank higher?

I took a peek at a couple of your blog posts and didn't see anything that was linking back to the services that those posts may be ranking for. Would be a good idea that when you are making a post that relates to one of your services to link back to that service page.

Lots of my informative content outranks product pages.
I place "house ads" on the informative content pages that deliver traffic to the store. Also links in my informative content pages go to product pages in the store.
I find that my informative content pages compete in search much more effectively than product pages. They don't convert as well but they get a lot more traffic, so I am still a winner.
House ads can have a very high CTR because they are perfectly matched to the article content. And the conversion rate of people directed to your store with house ads can also be fantastic compared to the conversion rate of other traffic.

One of the reason why businesses should have blog is to rank on the keywords that they want to target. It's a great news that your blog articles are ranking on the keywords that you want to target and now what you need to do - that's actually what you should be doing when you create the blog - have a link or an image that would take users to relevant services pages.

If your blog content is being stolen - report a DMCA complaint on that blog. ! However do not do keyword stuffing !

Can i use hard innerlinks on my blog to my landingspages ?
Hello, Ihave a website and also on the same domain a blog with a lot of posts. Is it possible in each blogpost put 2 innerlinks 1. innerlink to other blogpost with keyword or combination 2. hard link like "Design Sauna" and link to the landingspage of the webshop ? When You Add a Robots.txt file to a website to block certain URLs, do they disappear from Google's index?
I have seen several websites recently that have have far too many webpages indexed by Google, because for each blog post they publish, Google might index the following: www.mywebsite.com/blog/title-of-post www.mywebsite.com/blog/tag/tag1 www.mywebsite.com/blog/tag/tag2 www.mywebsite.com/blog/category/categoryA etc My question is: if you add a robots.txt file that tells Google NOT to index pages in the "tag" and "category" folder, does that mean that the previously indexed pages will eventually disappear from Google's index? Or does it just mean that newly created pages won't get added to the index? Or does it mean nothing at all? thanks for any insight!

Adding Tags in the blog is good or bad?
Hi Friends, In my blog I used to write unique content in between 300 to 450 words and add the related tags up to 15. When I research about adding tags in the blog I come across this video from “Matt Cutts” says Is it worth spending time on creating tags and categories? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A96yDPqa2rs Key Points from Matt Cutts Video are given below: No Need Tags - In general, Google figure out what your post is about, so don't worry too much about it. So my question is do I need to remove all tags from my blog or can I reduce the tag count to 5 alone? Currently I am using 15 tags to each post, is there any dis-advantage by adding tags like this? Let me know your suggestions? Thanks

Blog URL
I know that this question has been asked in the past, and that website.com/blog is better for seo purposes than blog.website.com. We want to setup a custom blog on our site, using Wordpress. Our designers/host are telling us that buy using website.com/blog can causes issues b/c Wordpress is open source, and our site could be hacked? Is there anything we should do about this? Any suggestions? Any Advice appreciated!!! Thanks!

Is Googlebot seeing text in my 'Read More' bar and could they even be penalising me for it?
Hi guys. Our web developers have put a read more bar that contains the on page SEO text for our webpage. By default, the read more bar is not expanded and you cannot see the text within. If you click 'Read More', the box expands and the text is shown on the page. I was wondering if googlebot is seeing this text at all - it's really important that it does because it contains all the on-page SEO text. I also wondered if this type of approach is still considered 'white hat'? If it's not, could google be penalising us for it? Thanks,

Should I use this Facebook comment content on my related blog post?
I have a blog post that ranks pretty high for the term "justin bieber tickets". We are running a ticket giveaway and have received tons of responses on Facebook and G+. The responses are often poorly written in they sense that they are from younger fans, but it is a bunch of related content that I thought could be a "good "addition of unique content to the post. Is this a good idea in general? Is it still a good idea if the comments are poorly written and contain lots of slang an exclamation points? Is it bad form to put people's Facebook comments live on the web, even though it is a public page. Using content for cliche' terms, or content found on other sites
howdy, I have a basic question about using content found on other websites for your own use. I have started a pick up lines website for guys to search for pickup lines to use on girls. Anyways, my website has many, if anything a lot, of the same exact pick up lines as all my competitors are using. If I use the same pick up lines found on their site could i be penalized for this as far as SEO? thanks and hope to hear back
