What is the best SEO solution for pagination?
-
Dear all,
What is the best SEO solution for pagination?
for example, what code do I need to put on these individual pages?
/page-1
/page-2
/page-3 (final page)
Thanks!

Hello BenVer,
It really all depends on your situation. I think most SEOs these days are going for either rel next/prev or a view all canonical page (see links below). However, I still see a lot of sites doing well with a rel canonical tag on paginated pages that points to the main/first page. Rather than saying this one is "best" I feel more comfortable proving you with some resources so you can look into the best solution for YOUR needs...

Is it necessary to have unique H1's for pages in a pagination series (i.e. blog)?
A content issue that we're experiencing includes duplicate H1 issues within pages in a pagination series (i.e. blog). Does each separate page within the pagination need a unique H1 tag, or, since each page has unique content (different blog snippets on each page), is it safe to disregard this? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

What is your experience with markups (schema.org) in terms of SEO and best practice learnings?
Hi, I am looking to implement schema markups into a variety of websites and currently wondering about best practices. I am working on energy providers, building material, e-retailers, social association among others. While I understand every single one of these is an individual case, I could do with some advices from you, guys. Which markups would you consider key for search engines? I would have naturally chosen markups to highlight the business name, location and products but there is so much more to schema.org! Thanks,

SEO for mobile sites?
Let's say I have an ecommerce site and it has a separate theme via device detection. So I may even have different content on the pages. So for example, on desktop, on mysite.com/flowers I have a video about flowers. But on mobile, I have 10 000 words of text. Will this page rank better for people searching via mobile? Will google give different search rankings, based on desktop vs. mobile? Or how is Google calculating this? Are there any good mobile SEO tips or a knowhow base?

Seo results are down. Is my "all in one seo pack" to blame?
My website www.noobtraveler.com has shown a dip of 40% since Penguin's last update in November. I also transferred hosting at time, but I was wondering if I'm over optimizing with the all in one seo pack. I would appreciate it if someone could do a quick sweep and share their thoughts. Thanks!

Permalinks best structure
Hello all, 1. I have a website under WordPress and I would like to know whici is the best permalink structure? I have seen in many post that /%postname%/ would be the best in terms of SEO although performance is not very good (But in WP latest version the speed issue has been solved?). 2. Additionally I would like to know if in terms of SEO it is better to publich the content as a page or as a post. The page publishing allows to have the path: www.example.com/page/subpage/etc... root that I understand is good for SEO? 3. How does affect for SEO a page i.e. www.example.com/page1 with links to different posts that have the permalink structure i.e: /%postname%/ I mean, if I click on the page www.example.com/page1 and then in the link to the POST inside that page and I am redirected to www.example.com/post How does affect the SEO? Thank you very much for the help, Best regards, Antonio

Negative SEO?
I have a large content site that's 8-9 yrs old, a PR4, DA of 66, and has many thousands of backlinks. It has ranked well for it's primary keywords for quite some time. This morning I noticed rankings dropped significantly. My #2 keyword went from 1 to 150. I started trying to figure out what was up and when I signed into GWT I had the notice from Google on 2/25 that they noticed un-natural linking tactics. Hmm....weird...I dont use un-natural linking methods. So I pulled open a couple back link analyzing tools and when looking at Majestic SEO I noticed that about mid February I had a spike of about 2500-3000 links coming from roughly 350 unique domains. Hmm..weird..We hadn't been doing any major content marketing or link building during that time or for probably a month to month and half before that. Upon analyzing some of those links it appears that a vast majority of them are from some type of blog network. Not sure which but you know the kind I'm talking about. ALN or something similar. What appears to have happened is someone pointed a bunch of spammy links at my site and this has caused Google to penalize me. I know this isn't suppose to be possible but just recently on a forum I visit I noticed a thread where someone was able to successfully do this to his competitor who has held the number one spot for over a year. He used the same technique of a couple hundred blog network links with varied anchor text and his competitor dropped about a hundred spots. So curious if anyone else has seen this or has any advice on my next step. I have filed a re-inclusion request and outlined what I think happened. I am also attempting to figure out which blog network it is so that I can request they remove those links but if I can't I'm not sure what I should do next.

SEO updates and rank changes
We have been updating page titles and meta descriptions for a client (not changing ANY links and the content we are replacing is "fluff," no major keywords or any relevant information) yet in the past few weeks, rankings have plummeted. I used the SEOMoz grader to check and make sure we have the keywords in there, in the right places for the updated page source info, and we're getting A's yet for those same keywords, the website is nowhere to be found. For example for the phrase "organic t shirts," we get an A for this page: http://greenpromotionalitems.com/organic-t-shirts.htm but when searching organic t shirts, no Green Promotional Items... Ideas?
