By linking adwords to ga is it possible to get it done within one profile only?
-
Hi mozzers,
i have a ga account with 40 profiles and none of them are connected to adwords. I would like to connect adwords to just the combined profile and not the other 39 profiles? Is this possible? if it is how would you do it?
thanks!

Completely tangential to your question, but since you're using both Adwords and Google Analytics together, this opens up the possibility of using Google Analytics Remarketing to you. With one very small change to your GA script, you can use set up remarketing lists based on Google Analytics data (including your custom variables and goals). It's very powerful.

Hi,
Yes you can, if you connect Google Adwords to your Google Analytics account you'll get the opportunity within every profile to choose which Google Adwords profile you would like to connect. It looks like this: http://take.ms/AOYQSl and makes sure that you have full control over your data in GA.

Can't identify the real source of a goal because subdomains in GA
Hello, I have one domain for my website (www.domain.com) where I receive all the new traffic and a subdomain (billing.domain.com) for the billing system. Im tracking both in Analytics. I have a goal (new order) configured in the subdomain -billing system-. But when I want to track the source / medium of the goals (new orders) in billing.domain.com, always appears my main website (www.domain.com) as the referral. Now I added in Analytics: Admin > Property > Referral Exclusion List, the www.domain.com and domain.com. Do you think that now I can track the real referrer of the goals? Or should I do a more complex tracking setup with Tag Manager ( https://support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/6106951 ) to pass the session cookies from a subdomain to another one, just to identify the real source / medium of the visitor? Thank you 🙂

What type of links/redirect is Yahoo! using?
So I'm trying to figure out exactly what type redirect or hyperlinking Yahoo! is using on their article pages. For example:

https://shopping.yahoo.com/blogs/fashionate/spring-clean-your-beauty-routine--10-tips-on-looking-fresh-this-season-000058218.html Hover over an external link, it shows you the ending URL. Right or left click it, it gives you a 302 redirect. When you actually left click it, it adds and "id" attribute, I assume for tracking. However, when you left click the the hyperlink, it no longer shows as a 302. I have limited working knowledge of web development techniques, so anyone with advance knowledge or have actually done this, it'd be helpful to understand this more.0 -
Google Webmaster Tools - When will the links go away!?
About 9 months back we thought having an extremely reputable company build our client some local citations would be a good idea. You definitely know this citation company, but I'll leave names out. Regardless, it's our mistake to cut corners. Google Webmaster Tools quickly picked up these new citations and added them to the links section. One of these citation spawned a complete mess of about 60K+ links on their network of sites through ridiculous subdomains of every state in the country and so many other domain variations. We immediately went into remove mode and had the site's webmaster take down the bad links from their site. This process took about a month for outreach. The bad links (60K+) have not been on the spam site for well over 6 months but GWT still shows them in the "links to your site" section. Majestic, Bing, and OSE only displayed the bad links for a brief time. Why is webmaster tools still showing these links after 6+ months? We typically see GWT update about every 2 weeks, a month tops. Any ideas? Could a changed robots.txt on the bad site prevent Google from updating the links displayed in GWT? We have submitted to disavow, but Google replied with "no manual penalty". We even blasted the bad site with Fiverr links, in hopes that Google would re-crawl them. No luck with anything we do. We have patiently waited for way too long. The rankings for this site got crushed on Google after these citations. How do we fix this? Should we worry about this? Any advice would really help. Thanks so much in advance.

Hit by a penalty... but which one?!
Hi all, One of our sites has seen a huge drop in traffic beginning in January 2012 and continuing to this day. However, even after spending a great deal of time going through analytics I'm none of the wiser to what penalty has caused the drop in traffic (please see attached - grey line is minus one year). The problem is that our traffic is particularly seasonal, hence the difficulty in highlighting what algorithm update(s) has hit us. I'm tearing my hair out with this one, so any advice would be most appreciated! Cheers yxkTnTn
