Optimizing WordPress Pages With List of Posts

A friend of mine has published a new site called www.localsguidesa.com. It is an informational/review site about a resort town. Most of my experience has been dealing with single html pages.
In the case of this site, the main "money keyword" pages are mainly an introduction of text followed by a list and snipped of blog posts such as this page http://localsguidesa.com/what-to-see-do/attractions which would target St Augustine Attractions. Would she be better off making the main pages with more content and less blog posts?
How would ranking be affected with all the preview blog posts on the page?
The strategy is for the blog posts to rank on the longer tail keywords...such as "Top 10 Attractions in St Augustine ", but what suggestions would you have for a main navigation page such as http://localsguidesa.com/what-to-see-do/attractions

The attractions page that you linked to has plenty of unique content, but if you're targeting the keyword "st augustine attractions", you'll want to do everything in your power to make that page more attractive and useful than anything else ranking for the target keyword.
Listing blog posts down below as title + short description is great from a user standpoint and a search engine standpoint. Keep it up, and try to find ways to add more internal links to the text throughout the page rather than relying on dumping all the links at the bottom.

The example page you provided has a good amount of content before the blog snippets. I think from an SEO standpoint this format would be fine. Just optimize the unique text at the top and choose related blog posts for the snippets. I wouldn't have more than 3 or 4 blog post snippets at the bottom just because I think it will start to look messy for users.

This is quite a tricky situation.
The best way to optimise your website from an SEO perspective would be to focus on your main keywords. Once you attract the people looking for the broader topic of St. Augustine, they will then look specifically at a certain location such as Tours, Food or activities through your website. I would imagine this would give you a low bounce rate comparatively.

In the case you have discussed above, it seems like having more blog post might attract the end user but from the search engine rankings point of view this didn’t seems to help much!
I would personally advice you to add more content on the page and focus your link building strategy to get a link to your main page instead of blog pages. Keep the blogs for long tail keywords and for main money making keywords focus on the page that contain content with list of blog posts on the page.

In the case of a tourism site, I would recommend having more content on the main pages than blog posts.
Since you are likely to have a fixed set of attractions, you would want to focus on perfecting the content for each of them and providing clear call to actions to attraction pages on your main pages. Blog posts on latest events or news can take up a certain section on your home page, but your main content should still be photos or links to attractions, transport, food, etc that drives visitors to information they require for a trip to St Augustine.
Perhaps a good way to get some inspiration is to take a look at some of the tourism sites for the top cities such as London, Singapore, Sydney, etc.

Best Practices for Title Tags for Product Listing Page
My industry is commercial real estate in New York City. Our site has 300 real estate listings. The format we have been using for Title Tags are below. This probably disastrous from an SEO perspective. Using number is a total waste space. A few questions:

Do I eventually 301 a page on our site that "expires," to a page that's related, but never expires, just to utilize the inbound link juice?
Our company gets inbound links from news websites that write stories about upcoming sporting events. The links we get are pointing to our event / ticket inventory pages on our commerce site. Once the event has passed, that event page is basically a dead page that shows no ticket inventory, and has no content. Also, each “event” page on our site has a unique url, since it’s an event that will eventually expire, as the game gets played, or the event has passed. Example of a url that a news site would link to: mysite.com/tickets/soldier-field/t7493325/nfc-divisional-home-game-chicago bears-vs-tbd-tickets.aspx Would there be any negative ramifications if I set up a 301 from the dead event page to another page on our site, one that is still somewhat related to the product in question, a landing page with content related to the team that just played, or venue they play in all season. Example, I would 301 to: mysite.com/venue/soldier-field tickets.aspx (This would be a live page that never expires.) I don’t know if that’s manipulating things a bit too much.

Why does our business directions page rank above business profile page
Hi All, We are having an issue at the moment where our business direction page is ranking above the main business profile page. Our website is zodio.com, similar to Yelp but for South East Asia. An example of each page is below: Business Profile Page - http://www.zodio.com/business/detail/126037914/chowking Business Directions - http://www.zodio.com/business/direction/126037914 On many of our long tail searches for particular businesses, the business directions rank above the business details. Does anyone have any idea of why this would happen? I have researched Yelp and they do not have this issue. I've seen and heard alot about city-specific landing pages for businesses with multiple locations, but what about city-specific landing pages for cities nearby that you aren't actually located in? Is it ok to create landing pages for nearby cities?
I asked here https://www.google.com/moderator/#7/e=adbf4 but figured out ask the Moz Community also! Is it actually best practice to create landing pages for nearby cities if you don't have an actual address there? Even if your target customers are there? For example, If I am in Miami, but have a lot of customers who come from nearby cities like Fort Lauderdale is it okay to create those LP's? I've heard this described as best practice, but I'm beginning to question whether Google sees it that way.

I have removed over 2000+ pages but Google still says i have 3000+ pages indexed
Good Afternoon, I run a office equipment website called top4office.co.uk. My predecessor decided that he would make an exact copy of the content on our existing site top4office.com and place it on the top4office.co.uk domain which included over 2k of thin pages. Since coming in i have hired a copywriter who has rewritten all the important content and I have removed over 2k pages of thin pages. I have set up 301's and blocked the thin pages using robots.txt and then used Google's removal tool to remove the pages from the index which was successfully done. But, although they were removed and can now longer be found in Google, when i use site:top4office.co.uk i still have over 3k of indexed pages (Originally i had 3700). Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and more importantly how i can fix it? Our ranking on this site is woeful in comparison to what it was in 2011. I have a deadline and was wondering how quickly, in your opinion, do you think all these changes will impact my SERPs rankings? Look forward to your responses!

If I optimize my other pages like this, will I be good?

Google Filter? Drop from top first page to bottom second page?
My site has dropped from the first page top spots to the bottom second page, about 2 month ago. From time to time it reappears in the first page, is this some kind of google filter? How do I solve this issue?
