Starting a brand new blog today - Is it still Wordpress?

I started a blog in 2006 on Blogspot, then everyone moved onto Tumblr and Wordpress, but in August (just) 2013, what should I be starting my brand new blog on? I dont want to have to migrate in a matter on months.

I would say wordpress because you can self host (either on domain or sub-domain) both helping your domain authority, Blogger as far as I know is a Google hosted off your domain only option.

Def recommend wordpress.
It seems as the industry standard, and taking into consideration made by Martijn, it appears that developers are consistently developing new add-ons and improvements.

Hiya,
A lot of people use Wordpress but my advice is to stay with the system you know if you know the ins and outs of. if your content is good it wont matter where you are people come for the content.

Cool question, I would still stay with WordPress nowadays as it's in my opinion the best CMS to use as it's really configurable these days with thousands of developers. On the side I see Medium getting bigger but that's for now not really a blogging platform for your business.

Best Practices for Recurring Blog Topics
Our site has annual articles (such as a payment calendar and an announcement of our annual conference). Is it better to keep all the old blog articles available and searchable, redirect them to the most current year's entry, or something else entirely? My instinct is to have a permanent redirect to the newest article.

Do I really need a "Blog"?
Hello Moz community, I have a question about creating content on a new website that we just launched. Do we really need an area called a "Blog"? It's a financial website and the network admins have some security concerns about placing a blogging application such as Wordpress on the server because of PCI regulations. Can an area such as one called "Resources" where you list articles or posts be just as effective as a "blog"?

Evergreen content: Dedicated section or blog posts?
As part of our content strategy we are creating an ongoing series of articles to help both our potential buyers and our users learn about our product and improve their knowledge of industry best practices in general. Internally, we've had some debate as to where we should host this content within our site. We've identified two approaches: Series of blog posts Dedicated knowledge section of the website If we go with the first approach, we would created a dedicated section that indexed all the blog posts. If we went with the second, we'd create blog posts for each of the articles announcing their addition. Is there any difference, SEO wise with the two approaches? What would you recommend? Optimising my ecommerce blog
