Find all the back links to all the posts/pages within the blog subdirectory only.
-
Hi, I am new to Moz. I using the open site explorer to find backlinks for a website's blog. The website itself is huge. I want to find all the backlinks to all the posts/pages within the blog subdirectory only. Not the regular website. I ran a few reports, but it is giving me links to that page, not all the sub pages.Fi

Hi Darren
In order to view backlinks to a specific sub-folder or directory you will need to use the advanced report feature to filter the results. Here is a screenshot of the settings: http://www.screencast.com/t/qeit2kc2
You also want to makes sure to end your URL with a trailing slash, however you will only find links to pages in that immediate sub-folder.
So if your URL is domain.com/blog/
The your results will show links that are finding pages within /blog/ and not /blog/other/
If you need to go deeper then you would run the same report with /blog/other/ as the search URL.
Let me know if this helps!

Hi Chris, thanks for your reply. When I use open site explorer it shows only links to the URL or links to the entire domain. How can I see links only within a certain directory?
-
Go to opensiteexplorer to explore your page or website linkprofile. Its quite simple to use.Add the the directory URL in search bar and press enter.
Export report and sort data like you need.

Keyword Count Incorrect In On Page Grader
Hi, I have found that on one site I am working on seems to have issues when i run it through the on page grader. The problem is that it is saying I am showing the main keyword 24 times in the body, but actually it is 12 times. Could there be a problem on the website that is showing something I cant see, or is this a known issue. Thanks

How to find a list of pages with missing H1 tags
An external SEO/PPC agency did an audit of our site a little while back and said that over 10% of our pages were missing an H1 tag. I am trying to find a way to gather a full list of these in order for our web company to fix. I downloaded the Crawl Test report thinking it would include info on tags in there but it doesn't seem to. Is there a different tool I can use that will get me this information?

Moz crawler finding my homepage multiple times
Hi and thank you in advance for your help! I have a Moz Pro campaign running (I am a complete Moz novice by the way) for one of my websites (balloonsutah.com). After crawling my site, the Moz crawler informed me that I have 3 pages with duplicate content. While I am not sure why exactly this is happening, the crawler indexed my homepage 3 times under different url's. -balloonsutah.com
Moz Bar | | Keenan-Price
-balloonsutah.com/
-balloonsutah.com/index.html I checked my FTP server and I cannot figure out for the life of me why the crawler is finding anything other than the index.html file. I suppose I need to do something regarding a rel="Canonical" but I am not terribly familiar with that either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Clarify "broad keyword usage in page title"
Hello Page grader has two different grades for page title that I want clarification on. There is "Broad Keyword Usage in Page Title" and "Exact Keyword Usage in Page Title". Googling around about and searching here I have found that "broad" seems to mean the keywords should be used throughout the page, rather than just in the title and header. Which makes sense as this is a kind of check to ensure the page IS about the keywords and not something unrelated. But what is meant by "broad" usage in the page title? This refers specifically to the page title and not the whole document. My best guess got me to this, given the keyword "Visit London Today"; "Come and visit London today" - exact match only "London - visit today" - broad match only "Visit London the city of dreams | visit London today" - matches both That could be complete nonsense, but basically is broad usage the use of keywords scattered in the page title? Thanks.

Optimise your Pages in Moz Crawl - where do the keywords come from?
I am just going through my first Crawl stats from the MOZ analytics Under the pages to optimise section I have pages that I have optimised for my best keyword with an A grade that are showing as an F grade and suggesting a different keyword? Where is this keyword coming from? I am assuming that my page has been analysed and a better keyword has been recommended? Can anyone advise? Thanks Roger
