Twitter Tool Question
-
I've been searching for a tool that will allow me to send mass tweets to multiple @accounts?
For example, I use Topsy to see who's shared my content and want to send a follow up tweet to everyone who has, but find it time-consuming to do this manually.
What I have in mind is something where I can upload a spreadsheet of Twitter names, write one tweet and for this to be tweeted at everyone on the list.
I haven't found what I'm looking for so far. Does anyone know of such a tool?
-
Yeah I've seen that Chris, thanks. I think it pulls this in from the @connect tab on Twitter.

Hi Matt,
Hootsuite you can add a tab called "mentions" and "retweets" and you can then see anyone that's talking to you and reply from there its a bit more manually maybe but would let you communicate.
You can also track your mentions so over time you can keep an eye on it. My only regret I find with using hoot suite is it would be helpful for a bigger notice of a reply (sound or pop up etc.)
Hope that helps.

Chris, Jonathan, Christy, thanks for your replies. I'm really sorry for such a long delay acknowledging these, I've actually only just realised there were answers to my post.
@Chris, I already use Hootesuite and find it really useful, but for this particular task I don't think it's up to the job. This is the scenario: I created a piece of content that got over 100 tweets. I wanted to very quickly send a follow up tweet to these people, basically to add fuel to the fire and keep the conversation going. Hootesuite does not do this, as far as I am aware.
@Jonathan, I've not used Tweetadder. Sounds interested and could possibly be what I'm looking for. I'll check it out. Thanks for the advice.
@Christy, not simply a thank you tweet as such, but something to continue the discussion and hopefully get more shares for the content. You're right, mass tweets isn't the best way to go about things, but individual tweets was simply not possible on this occasion.
Thanks to all 3 of you for taking the time to reply.

Hi Matt, what did you end up going with?
-
Hi Matt, do you mean that you want to send the same thank you tweet to multiple people? If so, I highly discourage this. It will be highly obvious to your followers what you are doing, and possibly more insulting than appreciated. Automated DMs and replies can actually cost you followers. If someone takes the time to share your content, and you truly appreciate it, isn't it worth the time to send them a personalized tweet? (And it will definitely encourage them to share your content in the future, ahem.) That said, while you are most likely to maximize engagement if you respond organically -- as soon as possible after your content is shared -- I realize this isn't also practical. If this is the case, I would consider hammering out that list of personalized thank you tweets on a spreadsheet and scheduling them in advance (staggered, so you don't flood your feed with thank yous and overwhelm your followers.) Hootsuite makes it super simple to do this. Hope that helps! (Christy)

I too am not sure if it completely fits, but I use tweetadder.com
I am assuming you want to put in the "@name" at the beginning of each tweet. Tweetadder will let you import a list of tweets, and then it will tweet this out at a schedule (times \ intervals etc). Its also a one off fee.
I use Tweetadder to auto retweet, find followers (relevant), set scheduled tweets, manage followers etc. It is very good.

Not sure if it fits completely fits but have you looked into "hoot suite" ? it has a free trail type thing (so you can at least test). You can submit the same message to multiple accounts.

Twitter Analytics: Follower Count & Reporting Inconsistencies
Our number of followers on Twitter has suddenly dropped (yet not dropped) in a really weird way. Twitter Analytics shows follower counts in two places: Monthly increases in followers, and then also in the Audience Insights tab, where you can see three months of follower counts mapped in a chart. Month-to-month, the total number of followers continues to rise. What’s inconsistent, however, is the total number of aggregate followers shown in the cart. Twitter just dropped our to total count of followers by about 600. But it’s not like we just suddenly lost 600 followers last month (in fact we gained far more than that), but rather that Twitter seems to have adjusted the aggregate numbers across the board retroactively for all months. So while month-to-month continues to show gains, overall, we still went down. The only way we would have even noticed this, by the way, is because we have a record of the OLD total follower count that Twitter had previously displayed as recently as last month. So confusing. We’re trying to figure out what happened, and the only thing that seems to make sense is that Twitter may have done a huge spam account purge, and instead of making it look like we suddenly lost a lot of followers, they just updated the aggregate total # of followers across all time……? [For the record, we do not buy followers, but we don’t always do the best job at blocking spam followers when the do follow us either.] Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. 🙂

Twitter cards - one account, various domains?
Hi guys, I have a number of events run by the same company, all with their own websites. For a number of reasons, these individual events don't have their own social channels. Instead, the company's main social channels are used to promote the events wherever possible. I want to implement twitter card markup into each of the sites and associate the markup with the company's main twitter account. Does anyone know whether it's possible to get twitter cards approved for one account across multiple domains? I'd hate to apply for one site using the account, only to find out I can't apply for others! So before I venture into the unknown, was hoping someone could shed some light on this. Cheers 🙂

G+ places/local - Company Categories and Pages question
I have two questions about google places/local and Personal/Company Pages Regarding Local and the categories section. Should you be using strictly the predefined categories they have? or should you be creating your own? Also say you're a car repair shop for instance. If you should be creating your own such as 'truck repair' should the city be in there as well 'Truck Repair New York/New York Truck Repair(keyword or location first?)' When it comes to company and personal g+ places, i understand doing the rel author and its bennefits but what is the correct way about tagging this? For instance in Wordpress, Studiopress has a section in the profile for the user g+ profile that will rel author it, and Yaost SEO says 'if you have a business page, insert it here and link your personal page as a contributor to the business page' Should we be filling in both sections? or does this cause a conflict? Adding these items is very easy to do, but would rather do it right the first time then circle back and have to correct everything. Any feedback/input is appreciated. Thanks,

Building links to a Twitter/social account
I've seen plenty of articles about using Twitter to build links, but how about building links to a Twitter account? Does registering on sites and directories like Topsy, Twellow and Klout help? We can link to Twitter accounts on our own websites and other social profiles, and use it as our link on blog comments etc, but is there anywhere else specific?

Various question re SEO and social media
Hi all: It is time for my semi-annual “I don’t have a clue” question. Actually it’s questions since there are three although they may overlap. I am confused about the intersection of social media and SEO. A couple of years ago it seemed like one of the better procedures for link building was writing articles and having them published on Isnare, Goarticles Ezine and the like. Now I am not sure if this is effective anymore. It seems like all of the emphasis is being put on social media sites. Not just Facebook, Twitter Pinterest, and blogs, but big ones (that I don’t have a prayer in the world of getting on) such as Mashable, Reddit etc. How are my efforts best served at this point? Should I still submit articles to article directories or should I concentrate on guest blogging (which isn’t so easy if you want a reputable blog) or try something that I can’t even think of? Second, my blog is a Wordpress Blog that is no big deal and probably isn’t read much. It can be accessed either at Wordpress or through my site. It is listed in my Google Merchant Account, but I can’t imagine anyone reads it. It’s about gifts and products that we sell and is not going to stimulate anyone’s mind. Two things here: First (and I don’t know if anyone will know the answer to this) my site is hosted by Yahoo. There is a tab at the top of my site that takes you to the blog, but Yahoo also has some way to integrate the blog with the website. Does anyone know if this will make any difference? Second, the last several times that I ran by backlinks on Open Site Explorer my Wordpress blog has not shown up. It always did previously right at the top. Any guesses as to why it no longer shows? Finally, in the last couple of months I have had a precipitous drop in orders and visitors to my site. The only thing that I have done is to lower my budget for Google Adwords, but it was never that high to begin with and shouldn’t account for the change. Given the holiday season traffic should be picking up but it is going in the other direction. Does anyone know what is happening here and what to do about it? Anyone with really good insights might get a gift certificate from us (is that permitted on SEOMOZ – if not then forget it). The website is www,uniquegiftsanddecor.com. Here’s a thought – buy stuff from us. (ignore if this is spammy). Many thanks. Don

Twitter retweets - best practices
So, a fairly prominent organization used our company in a case study on their website. They mentioned us in a tweet and linked to the case study on their site. I'd like to promote this to my own followers as well. Is it more appropriate to write a unique tweet mentioning the organization and linking to the case study, or should I just retweet their original tweet.

SEO with facebook and twitter
Hi all, It's become more apparent to us all going forward after the panda update that social signals are becoming more and more important in regards to SERPS. Our website is www.capitalalist.com and is gaining a decent amount of traffic from Twitter. www.capitalalist.com/twitter and we have managed to work out what works for us on twitter and what doesnt allowing us to interact with our followers more and more. The problem is facebook. Direct marketing doesn't work here. Our page is www.facebook.com/capitalalist but we are struggling to get any traffic or interaction with our friends. Any advice on how to market properly for facebook for seo purposes? Thanks in advance.
