DA of External Link Sites

Curious as to how you separate a "good" link from a "bad" one. I go through Open Site Explorer and see a variety of sites linking to our page. Some have good Domain/Page Authority and others do not. When looking for links, where do you determine whether a link from a specific page will help/hurt you in terms of their DA/PA? Translated another way: How much DA/PA does a site/page need to have before you decide it will pass good link juice to yours via a link?

DA/PA are Moz metrics, not used by any of the big search engines. Although there is a correlation between DA/PA and "good" links, it is not enough of a metric to go by. There are plenty of high DA/PA sites whose backlink would be considered "bad" because of the content (e.g. its a blog network, lots of spam, malware, etc).
I would try to get any link from any "real" website, no matter the DA/PA. There are plenty of good new sites who haven't had the time to build up a strong DA/PA but a backlink from them would still be beneficial to have. So if you are unsure about a site, visit it to see how legitimate it is.

Links from my Own Blog to my Own Website and Link Scheme
Hi There, I use my own blog to give advices and offer information related to my business service. Of course in terms of SEO my blog is useful not only to expand my brand presence but also to acquire long-tail traffic. I use to insert a maximum of one link with a relative matching anchor text in every article of my blog pointing to my own webpage. Said that, the questions are as follows: Am I involuntarily participating in a Link Scheme with my blog? And If so, how many links can I send to my own webpage ? Shall I limit the number of links to a minimum? Thanks a lot for your advices.

Decent SERP site sending 1000's of links to your website?
I've spent most of this summer trying to clean up my link profile, most links I've never requested myself, they just appear. Here's a question, www.allworldlinks.com appear to have a decent page authority but they are bombarding my site with hundreds of links, I now have over 12,000 from them. This is not good I guess?

Is there a software to help me check whether the sites that i give link to, also place my link on their site (reciprocal link)?
When i exchange links with others, i usually put their link on my site hoping that they'll do the same. Since it's impossible to check all sites whose link i have placed on my page to see if they have put a link back to me, i was wondering whether there is a kind of software to help me do that!

Open Site Explorer and comparing links of competitors , then export the differences?
Hi, I'm totally new to this community so please forgive me if this question is a bit dumb.

A client of mine is trying to get better rankings for a specific keyword and if we check out the competition we notice that our site has way better and more unique content. The tools here at SEOmoz indicates that the competitor sites have more authority, and so probably more backlinks. With the Open Site Explorer I can quickly see what sites are linking to competitor sites.
And since we're in the same country and trying to rank for the same keywords we also are after the same backlinks. Now there are a few that my client is missing compared to the competitors.
So I would love to get a document that tell us what backlinks we are missing instead of
downloading many reports and do all the checks manually. Is this possible? Thank you,
