What is the best keyword tool for 2013?
-
Since the change in Google's keyword tool I have found it frustrating to use in finding new keywords. Which keyword tool would you recommend? Many thanks.

I am a huge fan of Long Tail Pro. You can enter in a few seed keywords and it automatically grabs thousands of related keywords from the Google Keyword Planner (so you don't have to mess with it). Then you can sort and filter by search volume, organic title competition, CPC, etc. But perhaps the most valuable part of it is that is uses Moz's API to determine Keyword Difficulty so you can quickly determine which keywords get a decent number of searches and are not that competitive, aka the Holy Grail of SEO.
(I am not affiliated with LTP, just a big advocate of it since it's definitely the best keyword tool I've used in years and it doesn't seem to get a lot of attention in the "mainstream SEO" community. Maybe because the site looks kinda spammy and sales-y but I promise it is legit!)

Agreed - that is an excellent post, with many useful tools and info.
I would add - for the google suggest part of the post - an excellent tool is Uber Suggest. http://ubersuggest.org/

Great, thanks! I'll look into those now.

Here is an excellent blog post from Ruth on the different tools: http://moz.com/blog/keyword-volume-tools
I currently use Spy Fu and would recommend it.

Competing Pages for Ranking Keywords?
Hey there, My client has this existing page which ranks for rentals-related keywords that are product type specific - i.e. electric wheelchair rentals, mobility scooter rentals, etc. https://mobilityequipmentforless.com/pages/rentals I recently made a rentals page for each product type to try and really target those keywords that the rentals page is ranking for. Is this a problem? Is the potential nature of the pages competing for the keywords a real issue? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Mike

Keyword Density and ALL CAPS
Hello everyone, New member and first time asking a question! Having a disagreement about keyword stuffing on a home page. The client has 14 mentions of their brand all IN CAPS. So it's sentences like ... BRAND was established in 1968 and has become one of the biggest leaders in the donut industry. In fact, BRAND has created a strong BRAND community ... etc. [the lead paragraph is three sentences and four mentions of BRAND] A design agency that is also in the picture says that this is fine because the word appears naturally in the sentence. Can you either 1) tell me I'm wrong and explain why or 2) give me some ammo to give to my client to support my argument. Thanks! Lisa

How accurate is Googles Keyword Planner?
I did some keyword research for our company. Some of the terms we got 100,000 search volume for in 2011 now have only 90 monthly searches. I am doing exact match for both US and Global and neither are any where near those high of numbers. Now I can't say how the old report on this was done but we are all a little skeptical of these numbers. Is there any other tool out there for search volume on Google? The Moz tool while it lists Google as an option only does Bing. Thank you!

Keyword Strategy for an E-Commerce Site
I've seen this touched on in other posts but have read conflicting answers and am hoping to get some clarification. What should my keyword strategy be for an e-commerce site in an industry that has moderate to high competition for it's short-tail keyword phrases? Should I try to optimize my homepage for the highly competitive, short-tail keywords, while going after the long-tail, and less competitive (but less traffic, too) on my product pages? What's a good rule of thumb as far as the number of keyword phrases to target per product? Thank you
