what is the best tool for finding what people are using as search phrases for my product? i used to use the google adwords keyword suggestion tool but that tool is gone now. Is the google keyword planner now the best tool to use?

One tool I've begun to use more frequently is Search Queries in Webmaster Tools. It doesn't tell me what keywords I'm not using already that others are, but it does give me insight into how people are already finding their way to our sites. I look at the percent changes which show me trends in what people are searching for and use that information to add new content and more in depth information.

Hi Ron. If the keywords and phrases for your niche are REALLY LOW volume (like some of mine are), then I suggest using Google Adwords by running a few short PPC campaigns.
A two week run with your keywords set as a Broad match will gather enough data to activate an interesting Adwords report. This report is found on the "Keywords" screen of an individual campaign. Click the "Details" button then select "Search Terms / All" on the dropdown. This will list exactly what phrase people typed in the search box, how many times it was searched (Impressions), how many Clicks those phrases got, etc.
Just peeked at one of my campaigns and for the last 30 days it only had 2400 impressions. That's pretty low volume and those small volumes do not show up well in any free tool that I know of. Though they used to in the old Adwords Keyword Tool. I miss it...

Which page is currently ranking the best for a particular keyword?
Hi Guys! I have approx. 50 keywords that I'm tracking for a website that has about 80 pages. I am wondering is there any way that I can find out which page on the site is currently ranking best for each of the keywords on my list? Ideally I would like to export the entire list with the keyword in the first column and the page that ranks best on the website for each given keyword, in the second column. Apologies if the wording of this post is confusing - I am not quite sure how to make it clearer. The aim of my task is to determine which keywords should be allocated to each page on the site so I need to work out which keywords are working already for certain pages so that I don't take those efforts away from the well-optimised pages. How do I find out what low-volume keywords are best to target?
Since many of our products and services are purpose-built for a niche community, I find that many of the keywords I am researching are all low-volume. Data on the Keyword Difficulty Tool show '0' under Bing Search Volume (exact match). I know what my competitors are targeting based on their title tags and web content, but I'm not sure if they did their keyword research homework, so I don't want to assume. Is there any other way to determine which keywords I should be targeting?

Help selecting KWs based on their difficult to rank for and KW tool question
I've done all of my keyword research, and now I'm selecting the KW's. In a previous question, seomoz had answered to pick a mix of easy, medium, and difficult words to rank for. How do I know which are easy, medium, difficult? The KW Difficulty Tool is not very specific. Is the level of difficulty related to where the phrase pops up for my company in search results? Are hard words ones that you do not already rank in the top 50 search results? When selecting KWs should I choose words that rank already in the top 50 that I'd like to try to move up? Or look for NEW phrases/words not in the top 50 results? Also, when entering KW phrases int the KW Difficulty Tool, Rank Tracker, and in Campaigns - do I need to use quotation marks if it is a phrase? I noticed that the KW difficulty tool has different results if you use quotation marks. Lastly, The person who did SEO before me has a list of KWs he optimized for, would it be valuable for me to include his words in my On-Page optimization efforts?
