Mod_pagespeed lazy load meta redirects, is it a problem?
-
Google's mod_pagespeed has a lazy image loading facility which is great, but it uses meta refresh to auto disable itself for people without javascript and the moz crawler says it is not good for seo, but we are not using them for that, example code
<noscript><meta HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" content="0;url='http://www.example.com/?ModPagespeed=noscript'" /><style><!--table,div,span,font,p{display:none} --></style><div style="display:block">Please click <a href="http://www.example.com/?ModPagespeed=noscript">here</a> if you are not redirected within a few seconds.</div></noscript>
Will this cause SEO problems? If not then is there anyway to filter the warnings out of moz, it finds this issue with every page
-
Yeah it would be frustrating if we got penalised for a meta tag a google module had added! If you can get crawl error filtering added to the wishlist for that that's be great
thanks for your time

I'm going to be honest and say I'm not exactly sure of the SEO implications (and I bet most engineers at Google wouldn't be either) but my best gut-check guess says the impact is minimal.
Because the page redirects back to itself - only with a modified parameter, an easy defense against loss of authority would be to make sure every page had a self-referential canoncial tag on it, so that both of these URLs...
- http://www.example.com/?ModPagespeed=noscript
- http://www.example.com/?ModPagespeed=on&ModPagespeedFilters=lazyload_images
... had the same canonical tag that pointed to http://www.example.com/ (no parameters)
This way, no matter how Google might dilute authority through redirects, all the authority is directed at the same URL. Not sure if this is all technically necessary, but I don't see how it could hurt.
As to your other question, unfortunately we don't have a way to turn off crawl warnings in Moz Analytics, but it's an often requested feature so it may be something we consider in the future.
Cheers!

Thanks for the response. We are currently experimenting with alternatives to mod_pagespeed for other reasons so I can't send a reliable example as we experimenting, but google have one of their own http://www.modpagespeed.com/lazyload_images.html?ModPagespeed=on&ModPagespeedFilters=lazyload_images
<noscript></span><span><meta HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" content="0;url='http://www.modpagespeed.com/lazyload_images.html?ModPagespeed=noscript'" /><style><!--table,div,span,font,p{display:none} --></style><div style="display:block">Please click <a href="http://www.modpagespeed.com/lazyload_images.html?ModPagespeed=noscript">here</a> if you are not redirected within a few seconds.</div></span><span class="webkit-html-tag"></noscript>

Could you give me an example of a page? I'm curious to see. Feel free to private message me if you wish.
General thoughts: Meta refreshes are an interesting topic. Typically they haven't been good for SEO (Google has even considered them spam in the past) but in recent years Google has made veiled comments that Meta refreshes are useful and even desirable in certain circumstances.
So all-in-all I wouldn't be too worried about from an SEO point of view.
Unfortunately, there's no way to remove it from the Moz report notifications. It's still best practice not to use Meta Refresh, hence we include it in the global report.

GSC problem: how to solve?
Hi all, Google Search Console gives me an error on these pages: info:https://www.varamedia.be/?utm_content=bufferbaaa4&utm_medium=social&utm_source=plus.google.com&utm_campaign=buffer info:https://www.varamedia.be/?utm_content=bufferece3f&utm_medium=social&utm_source=plus.google.com&utm_campaign=buffer I see there's an UTM tracking in the URL from Google+. We do have an account there but I don't see how this might give an error. Is this hurting our ranking score? How can we solve this?

What is the difference between "document" and "object" moved redirect errors?
What is the difference between "document" and "object" moved redirect errors? I'm used to see "object moved" as a redirect chain issue that needs to be fixed, but this week my report contained a "document moved" redirect chain issue. And it's on our homepage. Looks like it might be a HTTP versus an HTTPS issue.

Funnel Problem in Google Analytics - Please help
Hello, I did set up a several funnel steps in my analytics account to get the funnel visualization report. But it's look fishy, something's clearly wrong that it shows only 10 visitors at the first step but actually more than 5k visitors has visited first goal page and followed through the another all steps. Everyday we are receiving 5k to 10k goal conversions but it not showing in the entire funnel steps through first step to last step. Please see the attached screenshot URL for funnel setup (Admin) and funnel visualization report comparing last two months traffic. Total goal conversions received 3,605 in last two months but in funnel chart (report) it showing only 2% conversions in last step. Anybody can tell me what is the problem with that or analytics not tracking properly?si65Y

Problem setting up new view in Analytics
Hi, I'm having problems finding where to set up a new view in Analytics. I have seen https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1009714?hl=en but get lost at point 3 (In the View column, click the menu, then click Create new view.) In the menu there is no option that I can see. If I go into the one view that is set up, I also can't see anything 'View Settings' that would allow me to copy the view and then modify it. Am I missing something? Thanks

Godaddy 301 redirect
Hi, Happy Holidays to all! Although, this is not Thanksgiving, I am very thankful for becoming a member of this site. I ahve learned so much. Here is yet another question hping to have answered by the pundits of this SEOMOZ: I have a site built on site builder and hosted on Yahoo Hosting which does not allow 301 Redirects; I was fortunate enough to have someone help opn this site explain to me how to use Godaddy (they are my domain provide) to 301 through forwarding, work great! My http://domain.com now directs to www.domain.com , the only problem I am having now is, on :sitebuilder" the index page is classified as index.html, thus providing duplicate content again. Can you do two redirects through Godaddy? In othert words, my http://domain.com/ goes to www.domain.com/ eliminating duplicent content, but now I have another URL - http:..domain.com/index.html how do i get rid of that to prevent dup content. Any feed back would be great, Happy Holidays! Jimmy
