How to measure form abandonment

Buon Pormeriggio from Yorkshires answer to Silicon Valley Wetherby UK
Ok on this page http://www.onesys.co.uk/ half way down guests are invited to download pdfs but via jquery application window as illustrated here -
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/form-abondonment_zps604b6c13.jpgWhat i'd like to do is measure abandonment rates as in how many users cant be arsed to fill out the application form. Whilst I have done funnels before theyve been wired into actual pages using Goal funnels in analytics but this scenario of a kind of splash jQuery page appearing has got me stumped, ive no idead how to measure frequeny of click aways (if you see what i mean).
Any ideas welcomeThanks,

Great answer Lynn! Glad I read it because I was going to recommend the same thing.
Just wanted to confirm that you were right about GA Events, you are allow to set them up as Goals but you can't set up funnels on them.
Cheers.

Another option - you could install the free version of ClickTale and get some form analytics information or purchase it to get full details.
Or you could install the code just on a specific form page and use the visitor recording functionality, to see recordings of exactly how users are interacting with your forms, how much information they are filling out, etc.

Kalimera from sunny silicone Athens!
One or the other of virtual page views and/or event tracking in google analytics will do the job.
The form is in its own separate page, just loaded into a jquery window so you could just track page views of the form as normal by putting analytics code in it. If the page returned is the same then you should be able to set up the goal tracking/funnel as normal.
If you want to get more data (like which pdf they are trying to download) then you can trigger a virtual page view inside the analytics code of the form page instead of the default page view and include a reference to the pdf in it. You could also try event tracking on the button clicks, but I dont think you can set up funnels with events (only final goals). There are ways around that, but probably easier to go the virtual page route if you want easy funnel visualisation.
Check a bit of further reading:
Page views vs Events Virtual page views (can be triggered by buttons or by page load).
Using events as goalsHope it helps!

How to NOT keyword stuff in long form content
My homepage has an authoritative guide with long form content. As a result, my main keyword is mentioned 40+ times. It's not forced, but natural, and the frequency of it is a function of the length of the article. Is that okay? Any suggestions or advise?

Duplicate content: Form labels and field content
I have a site that has 500 pages, each with unique content, the only content that could be deemed the same is the 'Make Contact' form, which has the same labels and placeholder text on each page. Is this likely to cause any duplicate content penalties?

Form Only Pages Considered No Content/Duplicate Pages
We have a lot of WordPress sites with pages that contain only a form. The header, sidebar and footer content is the same as what's one other pages throughout the site. Each form page has a unique page title, meta description, form title and questions but the form title, description and questions add up to probably less than 100 words. Are these form pages negatively affecting the rankings of our landing pages or being viewed as duplicate or no content pages?
