Google Xml Sitemaps

Which plugin is good to use to create and submit my sitemap:
sitemap from yoast or google xml sitemap plugin?
Which one is better? I already saw this video but I get an error when I submited it to webmaster tools and I don't know why:http://www.quicksprout.com/university/how-to-set-up-and-optimize-a-sitemap/_''Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.''_Thank you ! -
Hi Sebastian,If you're willing to share the URL, we may be able to troubleshoot. No worries if you can't or want to keep it private, but otherwise it may be hard to diagnose without actually looking at the site/URLs.
Cheers

Thank You Cyrus,
So If I have already YOAST SEO plugin, I don't need the Plugin Google Xml Sitemaps anymore, I am right? I had 2 sitemaps :)) with mysite.com/sitemap.xml and also with sitemap_index.xml
Also, I deleted both of them, recreated the sitemap with sitemap_indexl.xml submitted to webmaster tools but right now I am getting again an error:
| We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit. | 1 | URL restricted by robots.txt | - | Dec 8, 2013 |
URL RESTRICTED by robots.txt....oh yeah baby....but how? I don't have any robots.txt file uplodaded via ftp or something like that.
please help me:(
thank you !
Best regards,

If you're using Wordpress, Yoast is the way to go. It sounds like you're submitting an HTML file to Webmaster tools instead of an XML or other supported format.
The address of a Yoast-generated sitemap is almost always http://example.com/sitemap_index.xml
For example, here's where it is on my personal site: http://cyrusshepard.com/sitemap_index.xml
Additionally, this article may help you troubleshoot: http://yoast.com/xml-sitemap-in-the-wordpress-seo-plugin/
Best of luck with your SEO!

Just asking, because maybe we see something, you missed

on all of my websites I get that error :)) I just launched 20 niche websites on wordpress my friend, I am working to build them for making passive income from adsense and the next year to sale them on flippa for $1000+
I don't think the problem is with the url, I think is something with my yoast or google xml sitemap plugin....I don't know how to solve that error...
-
Could you show us the URL with the sitemap?
-
thanks for feedback guys but why I am getting this message when I try to submit my sitemap to webmaster tools and how to solve that?
see the photo below:
thank you !

Hear hear, I agree with Istvan. As Yoast's plugin gives you complete power over you SEO configurations for your WP site I would prefer using that over other plugins.
-
Hi Sebastian,
I personally prefer Yoast over Google XML sitemap plugin, because for me Yoast's Wordpress SEO plugin does the job for both SEO and sitemap generation. I prefer to reduce the number of plugins I use on wordpress.
This is a personal choice, maybe you will hear other opinions also.
Cheers,
Istvan

Duplicate Page Titles in Crawl Errors (although Google is rewriting in serps ??)
Hi Im working on a client/project and crawl report is showing thousands of dupe page titles In the case of the blog/news section its aprox 50 since aprox 50 posts and they all have the same meta-title: "Brand News | Brand" as opposed to: "Title Unique to Page/Topic/KW Relating to Content | Brand" Since these are the main content pages we want to rank (in addition to the main site category pages) then i have instructed dev must prioritise populating these pages meta-titles with the actual post/article titles, as per the latter version of the above example. (I should mention that i have requested they fix all dupe titles but main content pages are the priority). Whilst this will reduce the number of dupe titles in crawl error/warning report which is a good thing, is it actually likely to increase the ranking of these news/content pages given that Google does seem to be rewriting the titles correctly in the serps based on the page content ? Many Thanks in advance for your input

Google images hits distorting my results. What to do.
Hit from google images seem to be distroting my results. I sell airport taxis so want rid of any hots that came through google images as there no buying intent Aanlytics shows (when i click in) Traffic Sources > Search Engine Optimisation > Quires 250 clicks All of which came from quires related to generic taxi terms which I do (unfortunately) rank for in search. I imagine these generated because I have a taxi cab image in page one of google images. So when people search for a picture of a taxi they click mine. However in SEO MOZ the traffic data tab shows: google = 219 clicks images.google = 3 clicks This should be the other way round shouldn't it?

Site: command and intitle: command in Google changed?
Hi Mozzers, I'm seeing some changes in Google when using certain commands I've used for ages. I'm trying to spot cananical issues by using this search site:www.mysite.com intitle:"keyword" This used to list all pages in the index on a certain site with the keyword in the title. Now I'm getting weird results and sometimes results from other sites - not the one specified in the site: command. Anyone else seeing this? Thanks B

Discrepancy between SeoMoz vs Google Webmaster tools
SeoMoz reports over 70 4xx client server errors on my site, but Google Web Master Tools does not report any broken links. There are not any broken links on any of the pages that it is reporting. Could there be another reason for the 4xx errors besides broken links?

Woah, my A-grade optimized pages that were on the first page have all vanished outside the top 50 in Google... is this Panda?
Yep as mentioned, I had some pages hit the top ten pretty quickly after ensuring they were A-grade for pretty uncompetitive keywords however, today, all bar 2 have just vanished from the top 50! All were ranking in Google.co.uk and I know we were predicting the Panda update to hit soon but WOW! My client is understandably a little upset, what on earch do I tell him and what should I do about it? Cheers! jT
