My g+ picture stopped showing up on my rankings. What do I do?
-
How do I get my g+ picture to start showing up again? It just stopped showing up, and I'm not sure how to get it to come back.
Thanks,
Ruben

"AgentRank is coming by end of 2014/beginning of 2015. Google is testing this and was forced to reduce the amount of authorship they show in the SERPs. High Quality, Shared Content will be the only posts that have authorship show up going forward."
That's my conspiracy theory... carry on.

It is possible you used a plugin. I checked the structure data markup tool and it looks like its working. http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kempruge.com%2Fa-floridians-guide-to-a-car-accident-in-pennsylvania%2F
One thing I noticed is that in the Google+ profile you did not add there that you are a contributor to the blog. You might want to add that in.
Other than that, it is entirely possible that your profile has been one of the authorship's removed.

Mind sharing the URL of any of your articles to see if the markup is there?

Thanks Federico. I vaguely recall hearing about the reduction, but since we weren't hit with it until now, I guess I thought I was fine. Apparently, not, but I will get back at it. I appreciate the link to as well!
Best,
Ruben

No, I'm not positive about the markup. The thing is, I don't ever recall adding any markup to get the picture to show. I believe I just linked it with a WP plugin or something. I know that sounds incredibly vague, but it's always just "been there."
How do I go about checking that?
In terms of great content, I'd say relative to my competitors that still have there picture showing, yes. In terms of the overall web, no. But, one of our competitors doesn't even have a blog, and I can't find anything he's written. He does have about 100 more people in his g+ circles than I do, but that's the only thing I could find.
Thanks,
Ruben

I totally agree with Federico about creating great content. That would be exactly what I would have suggested as well.
There is the possibility that something got messed up on the back end too if you believe you are already making great content. Are you positive that the markup is still on the site?
-
Unfortunately you can't. Google announced a reduction on authorship snippets in search results a while ago, most likely to stop the abuse of authorship. Instead, they now only display the snippet once the author gains certain "level", or better said "trusted authors".
There's no fix you can do, however, you can regain your authorship by creating great content, publishing articles and interacting socially.
You can read more about the reduction on the authorship snippets here: http://www.seroundtable.com/google-authorship-dropping-17840.html
Hope that helps!

Falling rankings - can't figure out why
I am still fairly green on in depth SEO, however I have a good grasp on making a site SEO friendly, as my skills are more down to website construction than technical SEO, however, I am working on a site at the moment which just continues to lose rankings and is slipping further and further. Keywords are dropping week on week in rankings Search visibility is also dropping week on week On site sales have fallen massively in the last quarter We have made huge improvements on the following; Moved the site to a faster stand alone cloud vps server - taken page rank scores from 54 to 87%. Added caching (WP Rocket) & CDN support. Improved URL structure (Woocommerce) removed /product and or /product-category from URLS to give more accurate & relevant structures. Added canonical URLs to all product categories (We use Yoast Premium) Amended on page structures to include correct H tags. Improved Facebook activity with a huge increase in engagements These are just some of the improvements we have made, yet we're still seeing huge drops in traffic and rankings. One insight I have noted which may be a big pointer, is we have 56 backlinks.... which I know is not good and we are about to address this. I suspect this is the reason for the poor performance, but should I be looking at anything else? Is there anything else we should be looking at? As I said, I'm no SEO specialist, but I don't think there's been any Penguin penalty, but my expertise is not sufficient enough to dig deeper. Can anyone offer any constructive advice at this stage? I'm thinking things to look at that could be hurting us that isn't immediately obvious? The site is www.glassesonspec.co.uk Thanks in advance Bob

Stopping slow steady decline
I work for an ecommerce company and I have been tasked with trying to understand our lack of organic traffic. For the past two years our organic traffic is in free fall. We have 80% drop in organic visits since summer 2011. I can't put my finger on what is causing it. Here are a few hypothesis I've tried. Penalty - I don't think it is a penalty because we still have some first page results. Penguin- I know in the past (10 years), we haven't used gray hat (paying for blogging) strategies. But I don't see a steep decline that would lead me to think its a penguin update. Panda - For the past two years we have been re-writing content for our 10,000 products and creating videos. But even though our content is better than every, we haven't had any uptick in organic traffic. Does anyone have any suggestions on where / how to investigate these issues further? I've attached our organic traffic graph. October 2011 we launched a new site, saw a large dip in traffic. It slightly rebounded, and then has slowly suffocated ever since. organic-graph.jpg

Sudden SERP stop for main keyword.
Hey guys, I have a website with about 30 Google indexed pages. Most of my pages are perfoming well for my keywords. My homepage recently started doing extremely well. Number 4 overall for a highly competitive keyword/niche. Then after a week it dropped completely off the map. It still shows for secondary and tertiary keywords. But my primary keyword does not rank anywhere. I checked as deep as 50 pages. It's been 3 weeks now. Any ideas of what might have happened? Is there really a sandbox? Could I maybe have been Panda slapped? Or do you think it is more likely just a technical/SEO issue. It just seems odd that it jumped so high and then disappeared??
