How do you pass G+'s to a new domain?
-
If a company wants to change it's domain, will they lose all the g+ 1's they had with the original domain? Is there a way to "redirect" those pluses to the new site?
Thanks,
Ruben

In my limited experience, 301's will redirect +1's, as Arjen said.
For example, this page http://moz.com/blog/how-to-rank gained most of it's +1's before a 301 redirect, and those plus 1's are now associated with the page.

Changing domain name will cause you to loose G+ 1's. However 301 redirects can tranfer the G+ 1's from one page to another.
Google is really smart in following 301 redirects. I have personal experience with G+ 1's being forwarded from an old URL to the new one. We made a big change in the structure of our website. We moved all language specific pages to a specific sub folder per language. We 301 redirected all the old pages and this caused all G+ 1's to show up for the new pages.
PS: cannot guarantee if this works with 301 redirects from one domain to the other.
PS: 301 redirect do NOT work to transfer facebook likes from one page to another -
Hi Mark,
Yes, it's definitely helpful and I always appreciate any responses I get. I feel like the answer lies somewhere in the personal vs company G+ page (that's what I've been looking into) but I haven't figured it out just yet.
Thanks,
Ruben

Might be worth calling Google to see what they can do for you, I know i've had experiences where we have had things migrated over for other issues. Mine weren't specifically G+ related but I can see the concern to keep the social metric going with a redirect.
I guess the other thing would be 301 redirects, also is the G+ page a personal profile or company page? Could try for a company rename if its a page?
Hope my help is in some way useful for you.

How to delete a post on G+ business profile?
Any one knows how to delete a post on G+ business profile? There is something called ''mute'' , i don't know what that is but there is no 'delete' option.. Any ideas? Thank you, PS: I loved the new look and design on new Moz but it took me a while to find ''Ask a Question'' button. I wonder why it is that far away

Request: Feedback on new free tool that provides social analytics for recent blog posts
We have created a tool that provides "at a glance social metrics" for the URLs listed in an RSS feed. Its intended purposes are: Monitor the social success of your recent blog posts Spy on the social success of your competitors' recent blog posts Quickly analyze a blog for social sharing metrics to determine whether it is a good outreach prospect or guest post opportunity Check out the tool at http://www.rypmarketing.com/tools/rss-social-analyzer.php I've attached a report run on the YouMoz RSS feed. Would love to hear some feedback on the tool... Do you think the tool is useful? Nice, but not worthwhile? What could be done to improve it? What ways do you think it will be most useful? Thanks! Does promoting a new page on twitter/facebook help it get indexed faster?
I know this probably won't matter much to people who get crawled on a regular basis, but for those of us who don't, does promoting a new page on social media help it get indexed faster with google? My site rarely gets crawled, but I've recently been adding new content. When I add new content I started to promote it on facebook/twitter and I do get minimal traffic from it. I noticed that a couple of the pages seem to be indexing quicker than pages normally do for me, although I'm not sure if it's because I recently migrated to WP or what..? I know T/FB are no follow sites, but is there a chance that promoting a page may contribute to the pages getting indexed? Thanks for any insight you can shed on the matter. It's more for curiosities sake than anything else. Pete S.

Need people's opinion on if this is good advice for link building
What google wants is authority, relevancy, quality and engagement. If you have an authority in your niche and place relevant content on your website plus grammar free, unique and a lot of words, and social influence via Twitter, Facebook, Google +... You shouldn't be worried about the speed of building back links. I checked your website and it seems like an authority site. PR5, 18K backlinks plus $38K SE free traffic (according to SEMrush)... You just need a social influence to boost your authority. Create Twitter, Facebook, Google+ accounts for this website and also Facebook and Google+ pages. Then Create 30 web 2.0 accounts and on each one post three articles. Two of them are an account activation (this is what I call it), which can be just grabbed from ezinearticles and spun. Keep the links to the articles at the bottom of the pages. Once your web 2.0 sites are indexed by Google publish 800+ words quality relevant content with two links to your website. One to your root domain and one to the most relevant page your website (I mean relevant to the 800+ words article). Do this on each of those 30 web 2.0 sites. After this blast all of the 800+ articles with all kind of backlinks. Forum profiles, blog comments, article directories... Just use Senuke and other software. And don't forget to create a facebook fan page for each of the web 2.0 sites. In one month, you'll see a heck of a move in rankings. Where does the bookmarking part go? You need to bookmark every single URL you want Google to see. And if you want to outsource it, I highly recommend you to get a full time VA who would do this for you. Hope it helps. And your answer to your question about speed, if your site is older than 3 months don't care about the speed. Care about the quality.

How do you believe Google's +1 service is going to affect SEO? What can we do?
So Google just announced the +1 button, which is there answer to Facebook 'likes' button: http://searchengineland.com/meet-1-googles-answer-to-the-facebook-like-button-70569 http://techcrunch.com/2011/03/30/google-plus-one/ They should begin showing up now on Google US. If you aren't seeing them, you can turn them on here: http://www.google.com/experimental/ I want to know? What affect do you predict these are going to have? Is there anything we can do from an SEO point to begin leveraging +1 right from the outset?
