Moz Toolbar Analyzer - Links
-
On the moz toolbar there is an Analyze tool. The third tab is for viewing Page Attributes. That page contains a section called On Page Links.
I can see the External Link count, but I need to drill down further to look at these external links.
I have viewed a page and don't see the external links this tool is seeing. I have searched the page, the source code, and used other tools on the page. The numbers don't match up.
Is there a tool which lists all the external links on a given page?
-
Hey Ryan!
While the toolbar should be showing you correct link counts, you're right - it doesn't show a list of those links. If you'd like to see that feature, definitely suggest it at our feature request forum: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests.
As for links going out from the site, if you think there's an issue with the tool can you email some examples to help@seomoz.org? It's more of a support question than an SEO question so definitely hit us up there with more information about the issue if you think it's inaccurate.
Hope that helps!

Thanks again Barry.
Google WMT is not of any help. As you suggested Fetch as Googlebot only shows header information, where I need a count of all links Google sees on the page.
What I am looking for is a tool which shows the number of links on a given web page, a breakdown of those links, and this information to be in synch with Google's crawler. Every tool I use seems to offer a different number of links.
-
Ah right, well, you'll probably have to put in a feature request for the toolbar to see that and again, you'll not actually be seeing through Google's eyes.
I've just tried to run a crawl test - http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test - to see if that breaks down links on each page or not, will let you know (or you can run your own anyway).
You can put the page into Fetch as Googlebot in WMT as well, but it'll just return the code it's seeing, so you'll have to count what shows and what doesn't.
Apart from that, not much I can think of.

Thank you Barry.
I apologize I wasn't clearer in my question. The SEOmoz Analyze tool says I have 100 internal links and 3 external links on a given page. I need an exact breakdown of THOSE links. I require the ability to drill down and see my page as the Analyze tool sees it.
Part of the problem is when I use other tools, they offer different numbers on the exact same page. For example, the lynx viewer shows a total of 61 links on the same page which SEOmoz Analyze tool shows 103.
What I really need is to know exactly how many links Google will see on the page so I can better understand and manage the page juice. If there is a tool that accurately performs that function, it would be helpful.

You can try a lynx viewer which in theory should return every link on the page (it shows all links at the bottom).
These viewers attempt to replicate what search engines see, but don't really look at much beyond the code (ie if you can't see them it probably can't).

Moz Domain Authority 27
Hi there, I have been reading up about Domain Authority being important to rank though I have a question about it. When trying a few google searches and using a tool to see the Moz Domain Authority i notice the following. I won't mention sites or keywords, happy to send them via private message if required. A site ranks 1st position for most keywords including the main keyword that related to their industry, a highly competitive keyword. Their Moz Domain Authority 27, Est. Visits: 265,000, Pinterest shares 72, Facebook shares 191 and unique domains that point to it are 55. Yet when I look at another site, optimising for the same keyword, Moz Domain Authority 50, Est. Visits: 60,000, Pinterest shares 35000, Facebook shares 20000 and unique domains that point to it are 521. I would have thought that the second site ranks 1st for the keyword and the first one mentioned which is in 1st position I would have expected to be on page two or three. as I scroll down the first page for the term, all sites except for one have higher DA, visits, shares and so on. If a high PA is required can someone help me to understand the above example? Whn a low PA site ranks much better for a primary keyword than all other sites that have a higher PA than it?

Is the MOZ Community Ranking broken?
I have been busy and away from MOZ for a while, but over the years I have been an active member of the community. I have over 2000 Moz points and usually if you haven't been on in the specified time period you become unranked, however this usually updates in 24 hours of logging back in. I have been active again since Sunday and I am still unranked yet I have gained several more points answering a couple of questions. My question is - have I missed something and the system has changed (not according to the top users table) or is the system broken?

New to Moz, need some probably basic answers about Keywords, Linking, Competitors and General SEO
Hi, So I have quite a lot of data colelcted about my site now, regarding keyword research, page crawling and competitor research ect. But I find myself second guessing myself about what I have done and what to do next. I have done basic research for as many relevant keywords I could think of to my site, including branded and non branded terms. If the main competitive keywords for my niche are very competitive, shall I start doing more research for long tail keywords and only try to rank for them? Does is matter how many keywords I am doing research for? Does is matter how many keywords I try to optimise for each webpage? Are the amount of branded keywords I am researching skewing my results? As they are all ranked #1, but nearly all of the non branded keywords are much further down the list... Once I have decided what keywords are worth trying to ranking for for each page, are the techniques to actually rank more highly for them - Title, H1 Tag, Description, Meta Data, Fresh Content and using the keywords on the page? Or are there more techniques I haven't heard of? Under Keyword Rankings - I noticded that some of my keywords are directing to specific pages, like "Cavity Waxes" is directing to the URL ending in .com/cavity-waxes - How do you assign the keywords im researching to specific URLs? - Or does Moz do it automatically? As most of my keywords seem to be unassigned to any URL, is that because they are not ranking highly enough? How do I best use the data collected through Moz? Good practices? Techniques? Tips and Tricks? What is the best practice for finding potential link partners and asking them for mutual linking? Techniques for finding partners that are likely to link with us, but still provides link juice. I must apologise for this long-winded set of questions, but these are troubling me! Any help would be greatly appreciated, Kind regards, Max Johnson

Who else has inaccurate reporting? SEO Moz BUG
I have been in contact with support to little avail no timelines for the correction kind of leaves me out in the cold. I have loved SEOmoz in the past but this recent bug is costing me time and money. Can someone please tell me how they are working around all these issues in rank reporting and a zero accuracy rate on page report cards? bugs are holding up my SEO efforts. SEOmoz has been in touch but has provided no timelines. My programs are suffering. I found inaccuracy in each report metric and now have very little faith that this is going to be corrected in a timely fashion. I rely greatly on the wonderful tools SEOmoz provides and now I am flying blind. Who else has been hit by the bug? And, what has support done for you to help?

Why do links appear then disappear month to month?
What I mean by this is, a link to my site shows up in the August mozscape crawl, then the next month it doesn't, but its still an active link on the website. Once a site is crawled, shouldn't it always be there from now on?

How do I get our full domain link profile?
With Open Site Explorer I have exported our domain link profile but I only get 65 domains returned when our marketing software reports that we have 315 . . . I know that some domains point to www.bluelink.ca which redirects to www.bluelinkerp.com. Is Open Site Explorer missing these links?
