How to Get Reviews Displaying in SERP, Like Amazon
-
Notice how Amazon has the reviews for the Kindle showing up right in the Organic Results; http://www.google.com/search?q=kindle&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
Is this a rich snippit example? If you have an ecommerce store and lots of reviews, how do you go about getting the same thing? Is Google just going to let Amazon do this, and other huge brands or is it fair game for everyone?
-
Thanks, that's what I assumed. Has anyone besides Amazon been able to get this to show in the SERPS? Seems like preferential treatment by Google
-
The accepted way to do this is through Rich Snippets. They are trying to standardize all rich snippets through Schema (http://schema.org/).
-
Those reviews are not from Google marketplace (Google Merchant Center). It's done through Rich Snippets. There are a few standards right now, namely microformats, microdata, RDFa, and Good Relations. I've experimented with the RDFa tags to some success but haven't been able to achieve the reviews straight-up in all organic results.
Once you choose a format you can test your pages here.

We are working our butts off to do eveything else.

In theory t should be possible for anyone to go after, but it is a messy area I wish to stay well clear of.
-
This is really bad for the little guy who might have superior product and service and information but who doesn't have the resources to go after all of these bells and whistles.
-
It is done through having products in Google Marketplace - it's a whole different game of SEO there!

Google shows date in the SERPS for the homepage
Hi SEO's we've build a site and our now trying to rank it but it won't go up despite of regular new unique content and a higher DA than most competitors. All tools like MOZ en Yoast SEO show green lights so we're kinda out of ideas right now. Till we saw the date in the SERPS for the meta description. This gives us the idea that Google sees it as a post and not as a page which might explain the low ranking. However there are no technical causes we can think off for Google to show the date. Any ideas on this matter? Could it be that Yoast SEO is causing this even although we tell it not to show dates? Love to hear from you!

Getting too many links on Google search results, how do I fix?
I'm a total newbie so I apologize for what I am sure is a dumb question — I recently followed Moz suggestions for increasing visibility on my site for a specific keyword by including that keyword in more verbose page descriptions for multiple pages. This worked TOO well as now that keyword is bringing up too many results in Google for these different pages on my site . . . is there a way to compile them into one result with the subpages like for instance, the attached image for a search on Apple? Do I need to change something in my robots.txt file to direct these to my main page? Basically, I am a photographer and a search for my name now brings up each of my different photo gallery pages in multiple results, it's a little over the top. Thanks for any and all help! CNPJZgb

Review website - multiple pages of reviews of same item
Hi - I've been looking at review websites like tripadvisor - I looked at Tripadvisor's hotel reviews and the reviews may extend for several pages, yet they don't change title tags and so on, on each of the multiple pages? Surely it would be a good idea, from an SEO perspective, to change title tags (and perhaps other tags) for each of the multiple pages - even if the change was slight - e.g. "The White Swan Hotel - Reviews p 1" - "The White Swan Hotel - Reviews p 2" and so on? Am I missing something?

Effect SERP's internal 301 redirects?
I'm considering installing Wordpress for my website. So I have to change the static URL's from /webpage.html to /webpage/. Yet I don't want to lose in the SERP's. What should I expect?

Should we get a new domain that has our main keyword in it.
We have been running our site about 10 years under the domain www.islesurfboards.com and we are referred as "Isle Surfboards" when linked to in the anchor text. Our core product line and keyword focus has always been on "surfboards" and its related long tail keywords. However in the last several years we have began to sell "paddle boards" and now they have become our best selling product accouting for 80% of our business. We really want to rank well for "paddleboards" and related words but noticed we always seem to fall below people who have websites with "paddleboard" or "sup" in the domain and company name. will they always rank better unless we also inlcude it in ours? Should we move to a New Domain that focuses on the new target keyword "paddleboard" or a combo of both "surfboards" and "paddleboards"and would this make any difference or even hurt us since it would be a new domain. Then in addition rebrand our company name to include surfboards and/or paddleboards in the company name or some combo of both so the anchor text when people who refer to us relate to both paddle boards and surfboards?

Title displays differently depending on search query?
Hi, I have seen this a few times but maybe someone can shed some light as to why this happens? If I search for a generic keyword im targeting in the title tag it shows the actual title tag placed in the code. But if I search for the brand name, the title tag changes to show just the brand name, so completely different to the default title tag. Any ideas why it does this? And is this bad, is Google saying the content on the site is not relevant and therefore decides to change it? Cheers

Getting Google Authorship to Work
Hi I set up authorship about 10 days ago at the suggestion of this great forum but haven't seen anything happen yet. Could someone take a quick look and check I've done it right? You can see a typical post here: http://www.touristisrael.com/neve-tzedek-tel-aviv/354/ Thanks!

Advice on Getting this site ranking?
Hi there I'm looking to optimise this site for SEO -> Gets about 3,000 visits per day but all from branded searches. Gets virtually no 'keyword searches' It's just a landing page at the moment. Would you recommend I integrate a blog with it, so we can start targeting more long tail keywords (free football game etc) Any thoughts/advice appreciated 🙂 Thanks Howard
