Organic key word ranking
-
I just noticed we are ranking above our leading competitor for the key words “Joint Care”. Comparing the stats I see the PA for our page is 14, whereas their’s is 18 . (also their DA is 42 whereas ours is 35). So I’m not 100% sure as to why we are ahead of them, is this due to us having 10 links whereas they only have 4 links to the respective pages?

How you are checking the rank will influence the result. Checking from your own computers that often "visit" your own site can make your own pages show up better in the rankings.
Did you try using a rank checking service, or an anonymous Google search tool like startpage.com ?

Hi there! Adding to what Moosa Hemani said, Google sometimes honeymoons new pages and sites (not sure how old your site is). I can also tell you from experience that page rank and page authority do not always tell the tale in who outranks who. If this were the case, all of the massive websites would completely dominate. Years ago, I had a website called www.iphone5newsblog.com that sates the #1 result for "iPhone 5" for more than a year, and the blog had a page rank of zero. As Googles moves away from links and toward better understanding page content, now more than ever, search engines can discern both authority and relevancy from content alone.

Ok, the answer might bore you but this is what the truth is all about so here I go!
Search Engine use around 200+ different signals to rank a website and this links, DA, PA are just the indicators of few.
There are several other reasons why you are ranking above them like:
- Your content is more relevant against that query
- You might have got better quality content then your competitor
- The links that are pointing to your website are less but quality always outranks quantity so maybe you have got better quality links then your competitor
- My be the bounce rate of your competitors website was more than the bounce rate of your website
Long story short, there are tons of possibilities why your website is ranking above your competitors and one of them or may be all can be right or wrong!
Hope this helps!

Meta tag keywords with the same words in them.
I'm updating some older pages and was wondering about potential penalties from having keywords that start with the same phrase. It's a geographic area so there is the "full name" and the abbreviated name. I'd like to have keywords for both. For example: virginia beach, va beach, virginia beach attraction, virginia beach things to do, va beach attraction, va beach things to do, virginia beach dolphins tour, va beach dolphins tour Is that spammy? I understand they don't have the same weight as they used to but I'd like to optimize for them anyway since I'm redoing some things. Thanks in advance.

Async JavaScript page load times affect on ranking.
Our company plan to use in our product page a live chat support app. But I concern about the page load time. The script is loading asynchronous and in the inner tests increase the average page load time with around one sec. Previously the load time was between 2.5-3.3 sec after the chat support increased to 3.8-5 sec, but sometimes there was extreme +10 sec worse results. My question is how much can this impact to our search engine rankings?

Does RSS Feed help to rank better in Google?
Hello, I heard RSS Feed helps in ranking. However, I am not sure if I should enable RSS Feed or not. Whenever I publish an article on my site , I see that many other websites have leeched my Feed and get's the same article I written published with a nofollow backlink to my website article. The worst part is that my article doesn't appear in Google search, but the website which copied my article gets ranked in Google. Although the article gets index on google (checked by using site:website.com). Although some articles show up after 24 hours by ranking higher from the sites which copied my article. Any idea what should I do? Thank you

Rankings drop since switch to https
Switched hosting companies, and then switched to https for the entire marketing site as a result of needing the security for the signups. Rankings in several (most areas) have tanked since then. Site hasn't changed otherwise, is responsive, fast, and spidered well. See: http://pisoftware.com I FEEL like the redirection is being handled properly, but I can't be sure. Moz reporting duplicate content on the homepage between http and https - but I honestly don't know why. Any help - ANY - is appreciated. Hair being pulled out, and I don't think I'll look good completely bald. 🙂 Kelly

Using a subdomain to improve rankings
I have a pretty simple landing page that at present targets several keywords. Is a good strategy to add a blog to the site on a subdomain with pages targeting individual keywords? Will this help the main domain rank? Also is the best strategy to focus on building links to the home page or individual pages on the subdomain? As long as each page on the subdomain links back to the home page it should pass link juice back to the home page shouldn't it? Thanks in advance!

Splash page - is it possible to rank well?
Hi there, I have a website with splash page - http://veda4.com/ . It's trully cool looking, the owner of our company wants the home page to be this way. But is it ok from SEO viewpoint? Can it rank well for keywords. All my SEO strategy were not using splash pages and I am not sure what should I change so it work with splash page also. I myself won't choose splash page but my boss trully liked it.

Does keyword usage in the footer have an effect on how high a page ranks?
My client has a lot of text about their company in their footer. Is the text in the footer associated with the on page keyword usage and density for all pages or none of the pages?
