Does having our products on Amazon or EBay help with our SEO ranking?
-
We have an ecommerce web site, which ranks ok , but we are trying to build up our SEO scores. We're looking at links and were wondering if having our products listed on either Amazon or Ebay (or both) will actually help with ranking of our site? We sometimes have products listed on ebay with a reference to the higher price that the item is selling for on our main site. Thank you.

Here is my experience...
Client runs a large ecommerce site and also creates a feed that is used for the Amazon listings.
When title on ecommerce site = title on amazon, only the amazon listing ranks (images and product descriptions are the same)
When title on ecommerce site is slightly different than title on amazon (e.g. "brand model t-shirt" vs "brand men's model t-shirt"), both of the pages rank in search.
So titles MUST be different in all channels, images/descriptions should be different, but not nearly as important. If you have a handful of products, I'd invest the time in creating several variations of the descriptions/images. If you have thousands, you are better off spending your resources elsewhere.

Thanks for the response. We do indeed already supply our products to both the sites, and we do get sufficient incremental sales. However, we have had some mixed / conflicting guidance as to wether we should use the same product names or images on all sites (our e-commerce, amazon, ebay and even the high street retailers where we list our products). We are considering investing in a different set of images and changing the product names for each channel, but we are unclear if this will benefit our SEO. What would the advise be on this, if any?
Thank you.

I'm sure Google gives special treatment to those websites so we can't be too sure. However, what you should be asking is if listing your products in Amazon and Ebay will lead to more sales/ROI. If yes, do it.
Be sure to use slightly different keywords/titles for your listings so they don't come up as duplicates so that all 3 show up in search results. At the very least, your product will gain more exposure, drive more traffic to your site and open up more opportunities for natural backlinks.

SEO Consulting Agency for Strategy and Link Removal
We need your guidance on SEO Agency we can consult for strategy planning for our websites. We received manual Partial penalty on both domain few months back and since then have seen tremendous fall in rankings for both of the domains. Have been trying to remove all spam links we found out of links we got from webmasters and disavow one's we were not able to get removed. But yet request for penalty removal not accepted. Would appreciate your concern on helping us out if we can take help of some agency for aggressively getting our spam links removed and plan for a better strategy to improve our rankings. Please suggest one of the best in this domain we could reach.

Backlinks from archived content? SEO penalty?
I'm curious, if I go to webmasters and suggest a change to an article in their archives (convincing them that the new link offers more value to their readers), how would Google look at that? It seems to me that if a two-year-old article all of a sudden gets a new link, it might look fishy, and might even bring penalties with it. Thoughts?

Ranking discrepancies
The head office of our organisation has just set up a new website and I see that it is ranking third below two of our retail stores. I performed a link analysis s and see we out rank our stores in terms of Links etc. Can someone explain to me why we are below these stores. Also our website was only launched a week a go. Could this have an effect?

Question to SEO experts about backlink tracking
Hi, could you recommend the best tool that you use to keep track of all the backlinks you have. I'd imaging there is a good software or website which lists all your backlinks with all relevant info for each link (PR of the linking site, authority level etc) thanks in advance for sharing.

Blackhat SEO firm had more success than whitehat me
I’ve been link building for a small online store. Before I took over their SEO, they hired a company who got them lots of spammy links over a 12 month contract. The spammy links didn't seem to improve or hurt rankings on their main keywords but general search traffic has almost doubled. Now I’m doing whitehat SEO for them and getting links through emailing bloggers and giving them reasons to link to us. Over 2 months (amongst over things) I’ve obtained links from around 35 websites, mostly PR 3 – 4 with a few up to PR 7. On my own website, a couple of links like this would produce a noticeable effect in the rankings, but I can’t seem to budge the ranks for this website. I’m concerned that they might just want to go back to their old SEO firm for more spam links. Am I doing the right thing? Am I getting links quick enough and how can I argue the case for whitehat if they’re getting more noticeable results from blackhat?
