What is the best directory submission management software?
-
My website domain authority is 25, and my home page authority is 20. I have a lot of directory submission and link building to do. I have a spreadsheet of more than 700 directories to submit tio What is the best directory submission and link building software to help me manage this?
-
Thanks. That's really helpful. You should write an article on it!
-
You want to control your own content. Publish it to your site, and get it into search results.
Then spread the word. Let others know about your great article every way you can. If it is truly a great article, you will see it on reddit and other social tools.
Ezine articles have had their value significantly reduced since the Panda update. You certainly can share your content with other publishers, but have a clear goal in mind. You want to reach people who otherwise would never find your site. So you go ahead and share your article with other sites that have an established network of readers. This will get your site exposure and a link.
At that point, it's up to the quality of your site to retain visitors.

Sounds good to me, Do you think this should still be published as an ezine article, or just a blog post on one's own site?
-
Submitting articles to ezines is better then directory submissions, but you are still looking for the magic bullet and are not quite there yet.
Write one article about your most interesting topic. Make it the best article you have ever written. Pick a narrow niche within your topic that others would be interested in reading.
For this article, make it a work of charity. Don't think "how will I sell product X" or "how will I get people to my site" but put the reader first. Make sure the headline and the first couple sentences truly hooks readers in, or else they might not ever make it to the end of your article.
You can take a look at reddit.com and similar sites which organically promote existing articles. See which articles generate interest and which ones do not.
The key is, the article should be something readers WANT to link to and tell their friends about. This article is your link building strategy. It will offer you FREE, FAST links. You have no control over the quality of sites that will link to you, but some of them might be quite good.
-
WOW! That's just the kind of advice I've been looking for. So do you think I'm better off submitting articles to ezines and looking to something like WordTracker link building?
Thanks

My reply is not a direct response to your question, but you may find the information helpful.
You are wasting your time with directory submission. It is only slightly better then looking at your meta keywords tag and optimizing it.
A search engine's job is to offer quality results to it's users. How does your site listing in 700 directories make your web pages a better search result then another site who is not listed? It doesn't, and search engines know that. They have greatly minimized the value of directory listings, and you can anticipate that effect to increase until the vast wasteland of directory sites disappear.
If you acquire a few quality links based on providing great content and meeting the needs of your users, you will increase your domain authority and separate yourself from other sites.

Best Anchor Text Practices Post Penguin Panda
my question is what are the best practices Post Penguin and Panda for anchor texts? I have heard info about using brand names, and not having duplicate anchor texts. But i'm confused; if its best to have brand names then likely it will end up being duplicate. Also is having no anchor bad? I have also heard that it is best just to use the website URL. It would be great if someone could clear this up for me thanks.

Are directories still an option for linkbuilding
I know that after the recent slate of Google updates, many free directories got taken down. We've typically used the list of directories placed on SEOmoz (www.seomoz.org/directories). Before adding a site to a directory, we always check to see if it is indexed by Google. Is this still a safe option or should directories be avoided?

What to look for in paid directories
I was looking through some of the directories in the seomoz directory list and a lot of them are paid directories. What should i be looking for to decide if these directories are worth paying for a link? obviously if the page my link is listed on is in fact indexed by google. What about the following questions: 1. what about page rank of the page that it's on? Does that matter? i've heard that one page rank 5 link carries the weight of hundreds of page rank zero links. Is this true? 2. What does it mean if the page rank is unranked? Is it worth paying for a link if the page is old and is unranked? 3. i read in an SEO forum that there are many other things i should look at in a directory besides page rank. Obviously traffic is one but what about other not so obvious things? 4. How many directory links at one time is too many? how many is too many over a long period of time? THanks in advance for your help Mozzers! Ron10

Best Link Building technique using SEOMoz tools & Open Site Explorer
Hi, We've been with SEOMoz for a year or two now, but have have kept an eye out for productive link building tools to help the team. To be honest we're struggling with Open Site Explorer because, although it enables us to discover competitors links it doesn't provide much link management functionality. A simple example would be the ability for Open Site Explorer to show links to domains which my clients already have in a different colour, so that we don't waste time exploring dead ends. I'd be very interested to hear tips how other people use the SEOMoz tools to manage their link building as I suspect we may be missing a trick or two... Thanks in advance!

Blog Directories
Will links from blog directories to our subfolder-located blog within our website help the ranking of our overall site? In other words, will it just help the rankings of the main blog page (where the directory links are pointing to), or will it pass the link juice to the rest of the site? Thanks!

Asking other websites to link your website when the want to be in your directory
Hello, We have 3 web directories, and I wonder if it is legal for search engines to ask people who want to be in the directory to link to a particular website in order to be in our directory. I mean, it is free adding the url in the directory but if they lwant to be in the directory they have to ink to a website we have decided.

Is this correct, or is punishable? Thanks!0
