Where to find good SEO job applicants?

We're located in South Dakota, and I'm having a hard time getting qualified job applicants for an advanced SEO position. The ad has been placed on local job sites as well as careerbuilder.com and indeed.com. What other places do you recommend?

Some great information on here. What I have realized, the applicant must have agency experience. It makes on boarding and client relations going forward so much more efficient.

My personal recommendation is place your job at Inbound.org! The people you will find from there are already 1 step better then the one you will find at indeed and other similar websites and this is because Inbound.org is a platform for those who know the right path of digital marketing.
Linkedin could be another idea of why not look in to Moz community, shortlist the people who you think are best for you and through them an offer general... some of them might accept it.

Like Dana said, go with LinkedIn. A lot of professionals get out there to search for jobs. Besides that I would try to use your network within SEO, these people might know somebody.

Know that you're going to have to screen a lot of yahoos, but Craigslist is always a possibility. You could post a job on the North Pole and you would still get a couple of responses, especially if telecommuting is an option.

I would try posting on LinkedIn and possibly also on Inbound.org. As an advanced SEO, those are the two places I look at first when browsing for new opportunities. Hope that helps!

Does a blog on a subdomain pass on SEO credit to the main domain?
When setting up a Hubspot blog you are asked to create a subdomain such as blog.website.com in order to have the blog hosted there. Two questions: 1. Does a blog on a subdomain pass on SEO credit to the main domain?

My understanding is that a subdomain is treated like a unique site but I'm not finding current articles to confirm this is still true. 2. If it does not pass on credit to the main domain and the subdomain is only building "SEO love" for itself but your posts are getting found and driving conversions... from a marketing perspective does this non-transfer of SEO credit really matter? Meaning if blog.website.com is linked to the navigation on website.com, your site has quality content, has relevant calls to action, and you are lead nurturing like a good marketer... does the passing of SEO credit matter if your posts are what's getting found and filling the top of the funnel? Direct is taking over my SEO traffic in Mobile iOS and Android Devices
WIth all the buzz of mobile has anyone taken a look to dig into the SEO traffic by device (desktop vs mobile). Well I did and surprising my desktop trend was not even close to mobile traffic. Surprising to know that due to the security updates in iSO and Android organic traffic (traffic with out tracking codes) is getting bucket into Direct. (Yes we all know Direct traffic is dirty dirty label traffic that analytics platforms can identify.)http://www.rimmkaufman.com/blog/estimating-google-organic-search-visits-hidden-by-ios-6/17122012/http://www.definemg.com/recover-your-android-4-and-ios-search-traffic/ Feels like SEO is receiving no love... didn't we have enough with Google encryption, we didn't get the keyword but at least got the referral! How do you learn SEO effectively, with so much information out there
I’m reasonably new to the SEO market, but I find it hard to keep up with all the information that comes out daily. I not always sure what to believe or who for that matter present company accepted (SEOmoz). But I’m sure I am not the only one who finds this difficult, does anyone know of accredited courses in SEO / Internet marketing, in the UK or distant learning that could give me a very good grounding. Or if anyone just has some good ideas on how to take all this information in, I would very much appreciate their views. Regards Kevin

Build a site, do SEO work on it and sell it?
Does anybody do this? With success? I keep finding industries right here in my local area (concrete work, home security, painting) that have 4-5 local companies that are competing and NONE of them are doing even the most BASIC items to seo their site or capitalize on ANYTHING online. I could pick 7-8 of these industries and have somebody who works for me spend a couple hours a week on each building links and writing a half way interesting blog post, etc. and once they rank higher than most of the competition sell em for 2-3 grand I bet, especially since I can prove how much traffic they are getting. Local SEO Agency Suggestions
I've looked under the "recommended companies" tab of seomoz, but all of the SEO Agencies listed seem to be geared towards big businesses. Most of their contact pages have starting budgets that are way out of my league. I do my own web-development and on-site SEO, but due to the demands of my job, I do not have the time needed to focus on link-building, and any other kind of content marketing (other than occasional guest blogging). Can anyone recommend an individual or agency that can start with a $500 - $600 monthly budget and move up from there? My search terms are local to my city, and not all that competitive, just looking for someone who can help. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
