Timing of actions

Hi
Just got a question looking at the general timing of events and wanting to know what is the norm.
I've seen on here recently talk of eBay losing ranking in the last few days, and here in the UK news, we have had info today of security issues at the company stemming from being hacked late Feb - early March.
Are those two events linked? If so, what is the mechanism by which google would affect the ranking of an established company like this, for an issue like that?
And more generally, what are the typical timings of cause and effect with regards to google responding with demoting rank for more general issues?

I don't believe the two events are related. It's more related to Panda 4.0 and their use of thin content and doorway pages.
According to an excellent article on wordstream by Larry Kim: "When you search for specific products and see an organic search result, chances are, it's leading you to a doorway page – an internal search results page on eBay with very little content..."

Google stopped showing time frame for the cached results of the websites; Why? Any alternatives?
Hi Moz community If we Google "site:website.com"; it'll list the cached pages from the website. And we used to check them on required date range like how and which pages got indexed. But date range is not working now and the results are missing the pages which got indexed at the selected date range. Any idea why Google does this? Google Webmaster Tools show the error in Manual Action while there is no any error in Structured Data Testing Tool.
It is showing error as below Spammy structured markup Markup on some pages on this site appears to use techniques such as marking up content that is invisible to users, marking up irrelevant or misleading content, and/or other manipulative behavior that violates Google's Spammy Structured Markup guidelines. While I see in Structured Data Testing Tool, it doesn't show any error.

How can I submit a reconsideration request while not having any manual action?
Hello, My URL is: www.BannerBuzz.com and it has been penalized by google algorithm and my all ranking are getting down so i have found some links and disavowed them in google webmaster tool and now I want to submit a reconsideration request with google but I am not able to do the same. When I Click on "Request reconsideration of your site." it takes me to Check any manual action against my website. After Checking the manual action it says "No manual web spam actions found." and After that No Option to Submit My Request! Can we submit a request while not having any manual action against the site? Thanks

Time lag between algorithm changes and results?
Hi everyone, We had pretty good organic traffic growth for the past 3 years. Some people in our organization think that we were probably affected positively by the algorithm changes (Panda, Penguin,...). When I plot the dates on a chart I think Panda had no effect, but we had big gains starting five months after Penguin 1. Do you think the effect could have come that much later ? Thanks

Back to result after manual action revoked
Hello, Two weeks ago we got message from Google which said about our reconsideration request has been sucesfuly processed after few months of fight. So, manual action has been revoked but our problem is more complex. Here are flow: 1. 1-01-2012 we got filtered (manual filter - buy link) Here are 100k vistors per day... 2. 7-05-2012 we have problem with budget, hosting, etc.. Before that (after get filter) we get 20k vistors per day.. 3. 12-07-2012 we back Our statistics at this moment: 10-12k vistors per day, so we make 301 from country domain to global *.com 4.12.07-2012 - 1-09-2012 We try make a good reconsideration request without any positive result... Our statistics after 301 redirect are 5k vistors per day, not more. Every day is : 5 000 (+/- 5 %) 5.14-12-2012 Our reconsideration request has been procesed positive, manual action has been revoked but... after two weks from this message we have the same statistics (still are the same traffic source precentages). So whats going on? When will be back to SERP? Thanks! It's very important for us, before we got filter our statistics are permanent good. At this moment we don't see result for "keyword domainame" in TOP 10, only positions > 50 sometimes are normal (1-2 % of queries). Our competition have good statistics all time, their pages are above our results for phrases like: "keyword domainame"

Can I check the rank of a keyword over time ?
Is there any tools available that allows users to track ranking of a keyword in SERP over time ? I know the question can be a bit confusing so here is an example that I hope makes it a bit easier to understand EXAMPLE : I am doing keyword research for say "iphones games" and I find out the current sites that rank for the term but If I want to see who ranked for the term 6 months ago or 1 year ago, is it possible ? Also can I get data of the SERP ranking history for "example.com" for the term "iphones games" ? eg : in jan 2011 rank 10 feb 2011 rank 7 ... sep 2011 rank 5
