What is the best link risk software
-
Hi there. I want to buy/subscribe to the best link risk software I can find.
We are in the UK. Link Risk has been recommended to me. I specifically want a package that will allow me to check content hosts before we commit.
Can anyone help with comments suggestions please?
Thanks

Hi Karen
If you drop us an email - hello @ linkrisk.com i will arrange for a trial account so you can give LinkRisk a try
Maria - You are 100% correct - No tool will get you to the finish line - If we can get people 75-80% there then a manual review to eliminate false positives then you are on the right track - You would not believe what we see disavowed!
Alex - I would love to see a list of the 22 link sources - We have hunted far and wide and we did not get to 22
Happy to be proven wrong though - Also happy to answer any questions any of you may have
Thanks
Gareth (it is Paul's name on the account!)

Thanks everyone, great advice. I know LinkRisk is £149 per month. I will look at LinkDetox.
We always do a manual review but a couple lately have caught us by surprise, I don't want to take any risks.
Have a great holiday weekend

I'd recommend http://www.linkdetox.com/ from Link Research Tools. It pulls in backlink data from 20+ sources to which you can add your own data, and it categorises links based on a risk rating.
I'm in the UK too - they're based in Austria (I think) and the support is always pretty quick to respond (usually within a couple of hours).
I haven't used Link Risk so can't compare, but a colleague tells me it doesn't pick up as much data (and is more expensive).
Edit - to add to Marie's comment, I agree that links should always be reviewed manually whatever tool is used!

I'm not a huge fan of any of the tools out there right now. I think that any of them can be useful combined with a thorough manual review. But, I see far too many people who just run an automated report and upload the results to their disavow. I've seen so many false positives and negatives that it's quite scary! But then I might be biased considering that I do manual reviews.

Hiya,
Don't know about the best but some resources are:
https://www.majesticseo.com/reports/neighbourhood-checker
First two are free and combine with a good look at back links through e.g majestic SEO or Ahrefs you can get an idea.
Hope that helps.

Best SEO practice to redirect affiliate link
Hello, I got an affiliate program on my website, that redirects the affiliate link to the main site like: site.com/ads/aff_code/ -> site.com/ (The redirect is done using a 301 status code.) On the redirect process the site stores a cookie to track the affiliate sale. Will Google and others SE follow this permanent redirect, transferring the relevance of this affiliate link to my main site? In other words, if an affiliate does something wrong (like spams), does the bad reputation will be transferred to my main site? Is there a better way to do that from a SEO standpoint? Thanks,

Root Domain Link for Affiliate's Link
It seems my affiliate link: http://www.hrmsplugins.com?partners=21 is not being considered as a "root domain" backlink when this link is used on their website. Is there a reason for this?

Outbound links
We are working with a large, global customer that has asked us to link to their website from about 5,000 pages of our website. The links would either point to one page on their website, or they would point to specific pages throughout their website. Is this a bad thing from an SEO perspective, as in - would either of us be penalized from search engines for doing this?

Do links from the second page of an article pass link juice?
I have been writing for some sites with a high overall page rank and the articles are being viewed as quality by search engines as well. However, they usually put a link to my site at the very end of the article and then break the article down into two pages to increase ad revenue. It seems that I'm not getting much credit for that link even if the page has a high SEOmoz/PR score. I want to know if I am getting the benefit from these links. If not, how do I make sure I get the most bang, even if my link is on a second page of the article? Here is an example of what I mean: http://www.forbes.com/sites/theyec/2012/08/22/kanban-for-customers-how-to-increase-transparency-in-your-business/

Why does my site only have 4 internal followed links/internal links?
When using Open Site Explorer my site is winning in many categories but lacking in others as compared to competitors. I intend to improve on this but am a little confused by the extremely low number of "internal followed links" and "internal links" at just 4. My competitors have much more than that. Does this mean links to the root domain? Total internal links? I have many internal links so I'm having a hard time figuring this one out. What four internal links are getting noticed? I just went through and changed all the links that went to index.html to link to the root domain at www.njlimocarservice.com as I just found a Q&A that indicates this was better. So as of Wed at 5:45 PM all my links to the homepage went to index.html and not the root which is no longer the case. Not sure if this matters. At the same time I also just put a 301 from index.html to redirect to www.njlimocarservice.com. Any help appreciated! h9QuF.png

Building Links
Hi everyone, I am new to SEO and in the process of building links the clean way. Any suggestions on how exactly I can find websites that are linking out to quality websites already? I went thru most of my competitors link building strategy - and 90% of their links are done either thru link exchange or paid links. So looking at my competitors strategy does not really help. So I need to find websites/blogs/forums that are ready to link to me if I can show them some useful content. How do I find these websites first? Please help! Cheers! Arjun

Link building and directory links to a new site
I have three new sites all hosted on the same server in the same public html folder and each site is in a different folder inside the public html folder. These sites are a listing of live music venues in different cities in Texas. Should I link these sites together to increase page rank to each other and also put key search phrases in the anchor text and place these links in the text in the center of each page of each site to make the links more effective? Also, because the sites are about a year old they don't have many inlinks yet. If i submit them to about 50 directories will Google not like this because there are way more directory links than natural links? I've been told that it is trouble to have more than about 50% directory links compared to natural links. Thanks in advance for your answers! Take care,
