Adwords Remarketing Advice - Low Traffic Pages
-
Moz,
I am just looking for a little advice if anyone has any experience with Google Adwords and remarketing in particular,
I am currently looking through the Adwords help pages to gain a better understanding of how Adwords remarketing works, from what i gather this can be a really useful resource to use in certain industries and i have a lot of ideas and scenarios where i think this could work really well,
I am just trying to get a good understanding of the how remarketing lists are built up,
Using Rule based targeting for visitors that have visited a specific page that gains roughly 1200 unique visits every 60 days, so i have set the membership duration to 60 days,
So if i use the visit of this page as a rule for my list, then in a little less than 60 days time then my custom ads should start appearing to these previous visitors ?
My Question
Am a right in thinking the remarketing list is like a funnel, once 1000 visitors are added to this list/funnel then my ads will start showing, but then as those visitors in the funnel have reached the 61st Day they will be removed, and replaced with the new visitors being added to the list for that day ? Aslong as my list remains above 1000 visitors it will continue to show, but if i were to drop below 1000 visits within that 60 days my ads would not be visible ? so i would need to potentially extend the membership period if this happens ?
Apologies as i really struggled to explain this question as best as i can
Hope someone can drop me a quick comment and straighten this out to ensure that i am on the right track and i am understanding this correctly
Thanks a lot

You have this right, more or less. For display remarketing, they only require 100 people to be cookied to start serving ads, according to this. People will cycle in and out of the list based on when they were cookied, like you outlined in your question. So the list will increase for 60 days, and then likely will steady out if your traffic is relatively steady as new visitors arrive and non-recent visitors are removed from the list.
If you get Adwords remarketing up and running and it's working well, try it out on more pages or flows on your site. If you want to try it out based on events on your site, you try Google Analytics Remarketing without adding more code to your site (note that this type of remarketing is not supported for search remarketing). When it's time to branch out, there are a few more larger platforms you can try out remarketing on:
- Remarketing outside of GDN (we use and like Adroll for this)

About how much time should I budget for an adwords audit?
Hi, I'm considering devoting either my time to or jobbing out an adwords audit. The account has about a dozen campaigns and in total about 60 ad groups, 15 landing pages. About 6000 clicks and about 450 lead gen conversions. Conversions are phone and thank you page. The account involves search, display and retargeting. Client is looking for actionable insights about both the account and the landing pages, prioritized, in order to lower cost per lead. Here are my questions: How many hours of work? How extensive of a deliverable is the result? What might this cost if I hired a knowledgeable individual (not a big firm)? Thanks!

Creating leads with minimal traffic
I'm working for a client who is in a very tight niche. They offer a service which can come as part of a new build or installation to an existing building. The problem is the the traffic volumes are very targeted and very low, but a single sale can be very lucrative. Another problem is that it is very difficult to determine who the converting visitor will be as depending on the potential project it could be an owner, PM, architect, designer and on... There are no clear cut decision makers, it's always on a case by case basis. Because of this the client is baulking at any attempts to gather contact details because they are arguing it may not be the decision maker and in their industry they know it will cheese people off parting with contact details and it "may not be the right person anyway". I am looking at encouraging exploring ideas based around a traditional newsletter, whitepaper, survey etc. Has anyone else had experience in this kind of scenario where search volumes (organic, PPC) are low enough that the timeframes for testing any value become uncomfortably stretched and even then difficult to determine any general trends?

PPC Bid Strategies for Adwords PLA Campaign
I am managing a Google Adwords Product Listing Ads (PLA) campaign. The campaign is granular and specific in that each product is targeted via its corresponding ad groups. The structure of the campaign is : Campaign->500 Ad Groups (each ad group targeting a unique product selected by "product_id". I would like to get some ideas and feedback on bidding strategies. The granular structure of the campaign allows me to set a different Default Max CPC and a Max CPC for each unique product. I am unable to find within Adwords a column that shows what the competition is bidding. Is there a methodical procedure to extract this bidding information? I have recently enabled "Search Impression Share" and "Search Impression Lost (IS Rank)", but there is not enough data yet for those stats. What do the PPC experts have to say?

Huge Increase in Search Traffic - Expected Drop in Conversions?
We've recently implemented a successful strategy whereby we've increased non-branded organic search traffic by over 50%. We started with our niche products and secured those rankings and then expanded the program to include local results. Rev is up, trans# is up, but conversion rate dropped. Here is the question...is there an acceptable ratio between the percentage growth in visits and the percentage decrease in conversions?

What company/person do you recommend for improving conversion rates on landing pages?
Hello! I'm looking for specific recommendations of companies with whom you have been "Tickled pink at fantastic conversion improvement results!" I'm the customer for this service. 🙂 I seek a page-level review of a specific area of my site. I'm looking for output of specific recommendations for improving conversion rates. I want to avoid paying for a "generic best practices report" with one or two ideas for my site sprinkled in. I realize that I will be called to complete proper input into the process. I am ready to do my share with the level of detail required. So, if you have an enthusiastic recommendation, please share. Details are appreciated. Most important, please tell me why this company made you very happy. I sincerely look forward to SEOMozzer input. Thank you kindly, Loren

Reviewing my Adwords Strategy
Before I started working on Organic SEO, I did Adwords. Being that I am entirely self-taught with adwords, I am concerned that about what I might not know. From time to time I have looked for outside advice, but I never got very far. It seemed that I would be talking to a salesman, someone who knew less than me, or someone who was horrified that I had 7,500 tracked words. So I am presenting my methods here for comment. Each keyword I have used is placed into an exact match campaign, phrase match campaign, and broad match campaign. Exact match gets the highest bid, broad match the lowest. Every week, I cull new keywords from phrase and broad results. I also create negative keywords each week based on searches that are obviously not looking for my products. Over time, I get very few searches triggered from broad matches. Keywords are kept in ad groups that generally have less than 6 keywords. Acceptable conversion costs are decided based on product category. I have made an assumption that first position adwords results are too expensive (idiots overpay for them). I automatically reduce my bid 10% on any ad that has an average position of greater than 1.5. I automatically reduce my bid 10% on any ad that has a conversion cost greater than my target. I delete keyword that have a CTR below 1%. I generally require 300 clicks to make a determination. All ads have been endlessly split tested to the point I don’t split test them much now. I judged ads for both click through rate and conversion rate. End result: After 4 years of doing this, conversion costs are below target costs. Not sure what else I could do to improve it, but looking for ideas. Management of the system is pretty easy now, as well. Anything I am missing?
