Which tools are better? SEOMoz Tools or Bruce Clay's Tools.

I've ALWAYS wanted to hear some discussion on this, please give me your honest opinion so I can make the correct decision.

Ive used both Bruce Clay and SeoMoz toolsets. The one thing I really liked about Bruce Clays tools is that I can punch in a url and get a full analysis report within minutes. Seomoz takes a week. That's a major drawback in my opinion.Seomoz has a great q and a forum so thats a major plus.

In my case, the parameters are disregarded due to the same page being listed 15 times, one for each sort order. An example of the parameters involved are ?order=asc, type=authorname.
In the above case, once Google has evaluated the main page, there is no reason for them to look any further. The other pages offer the identical content sorted differently, so I instruct Google to disregard those pages.
If you wish to tell Google to disable parameter pages take the following steps: Log into Google WMT, select your domain then Site Configuration > Settings > Parameter Handling tab. Choose your parameter from the list (in your case ?from is not on the list so you would ad it) then change the Action to ignore.
Without seeing your pages I am not sure if the above is the best approach for you, but if you want to use the process, here is the information. The process for Bing is very similar to Google.

Thank you for your reply Journeyman! Right now I have an article directory on one of my sites. SEOMoz Crawl errors are reporting the following:
www.sitename.com/articles/?from=0
www.sitename.com/articles/?from=10
www.sitename.com/articles/?from=100
www.sitename.com/articles/?from=105
etc.... www.sitename.com/articles/?from=225
The crawl errors are for duplicate page title and duplicate page content. You said, "In Google WMT and Bing I have provided instructions to disregard the parameter pages and only index the main page."
Do I need to be doing the same thing you're doing with the parameters in WMT? If so, do you have a link to Google that will show me how and explain things a little bit further about parameters?

Specifically in regards to crawl errors...I try to use seo tools from a multitude of different sources to see if the errors (if any) they are returning are comparable. If I see the same errors across multiple tools then I usually try to drill down and fix the problem at that point.

I used some of Bruce Clays a while ago, wasn't as many tools as you get here... he might have more now. I found that I preferred the SEOmoz tools anyway. I still think you get some great and valuable info from Bruce Clay Inc but over-all I'd say here was best for tools and data. Just my opinion.

How often are the tools the deciding factor in what you do?

My feeling are the same as Richard.
I only use the SEOmoz tools but would like to learn about other tools which overcome some limitations of the SEOmoz tools.
For example, I don't like the moz crawl reports. They lack the ability to offer customizations. I have category pages which offer the ability to use order parameters. In Google WMT and Bing I have provided instructions to disregard the parameter pages and only index the main page. I need a crawl tool that can either pull these settings, or allow me to set them in the tool.
A good crawl report is one that provides actionable data. To see the same 3000 error records every week is annoying, and it makes it more difficult to drill down to the few pages which actually require attention. It would be nice to share the crawl report with a client without having to say "just disregard those 3000 error messages as they are not important".

I am giving a thumbs up to this post as I am also interested in the findings. I have only use, and plan to use SEOmoz as their tools are very good, and are getting better.
The biggest issue I have with SEOmoz is the lack of incorporating old tools into the new campaigns. I am sure that is being worked on.

Spammy inbound links: Don't Fix It If It's Not Broken?
Hi Moz community, Our website is nearing the end of a big redesign to be mobile-responsive. We decided to delay any major changes to text content so that if we do suffer a rankings drop upon launch, we'll have some ability to isolate the cause. In the meantime I'm analyzing our current SEO strengths and weaknesses. There is a huge discrepancy between our rankings and our inbound link profile. Specifically, we do great on most of our targeted keywords and in fact had a decent surge in recent months. But Link Profiler turned up hundreds of pages of inbound links from spammy domains, many of which don't even display a webpage when I click there. (shown in uploaded image) "Don't fix it if it's not broken" is conflicting with my natural repulsion to these sorts of referrals. Assuming we don't suffer a rankings drop from the redesign, how much of a priority should this be? There are too many and most are too spammy to contact the webmasters, so we'll need to do it through a Disavow. I couldn't even open the one at the top of the list because our business web proxy identified it as adult content. It seems like a common conception is that if Google hasn't penalized us for it yet, they will eventually. Are we talking about the algorithm just stumbling upon these links and hurting us or would this be something we would find in Manual Actions? (or both?) How long after the launch should we wait before attacking these bad links? Is there a certain spam score that you'd say is a threshold for "Yes, definitely get rid of it"? And when we do, should we Disavow domains one domain at a time to monitor any potential drops or all at once? (this seems kind of obvious but if the spam score and domain authority alone is enough of a signal that it won't hurt us, we'd rather get it done asap) How important is this compared to creating fresh new content on all the product pages? Each one will have new images as well as product reviews, but the product descriptions will be the same ones we've had up for years. What Are Roger's Super Powers?
I ended up with a box of SEOMOZ swag. (Thanks! As to how this came to pass...I shall draw a veil, as they used to say in Victorian novels.) My upstairs neighbour Max, age 5, enjoys a rich fantasy life and is very much into superheroes and costumes. Naturally, he ended up with a lot of the Roger stickers. Alas, I was unable to answer all of Max's questions. When he asked: "What does Roger do?" I replied: "Roger makes your computer work." Pretty good, I thought. But then Max asked: "What does the antenae do?" I was kind of stumped. Then it got worse. Max asked what Roger's superpowers are and if he could beat Spiderman. I tried to change the subject. Max wasn't impressed. What are the answers? Enquiring five year old minds want to know!

Crawl test from tools
Hi, I notice that the crawl test which is from the Research Tools doesn't really get a new crawl even though there is 2 crawl per day. It will only provide the data which was acquire from the crawl diagnostics in my pro account. There is no point for me to get the data which I get from my crawl diagnostic isn't it? Even seomoz provided with more than 2 crawl per day also useless in this case. This whole thing doesn't make sense as the crawl diagnostics will only perform a full crawl test once every week. but even the crawl test also not helping any thing out for me.

Why don't Google+ URL's work in OSE?
Is there any reason why Google+ URLs does not work in OSE? Is it just that it is a secure URL or is there something bigger there? Why? Be cool to determine every website the person has been published on; especially if it is rel="author" verified. Jeff

Finding the source of duplicate content URL's
We have a website that displays a number of products. The product has variations (sizes) and unfortunately every size has its own URL (for now anyway). Needless to say, this causes duplicate content issues. (And of course, we are looking to change the URL's for our site as soon as possible) However, even though these duplicate URL's exist, you should not be able to land on them by navigating through the site. In theory, the site should always display the link to the smallest size. It seems that there is a flaw in our system somewhere, as these links are now found in our campaign here on SEOmoz. My question: is there any way to find the crawl path that lead to the URL's that shouldn't have been found, so we can locate the problem?

Does Open Site Explorer violate Google's Terms of service?
According to Google's Webmaster Guidelines: "Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service." Does that mean Open Site Explorer is a violation of those Terms of Service, or is it authorized?
