Should I Be Concerned about Too Many Links in Interview?
-
I was contacted recently from a small online magazine (DA 17) who wanted to interview me about my area of expertise. Although it's not a high authority site, I gladly accepted, conducted the interview, and he posted it on his site today.
Throughout the course of the final interview article, he linked to my website 5 times. Once in the intro, and 4 times in reference to different answers I gave. At this point, I'm wondering if it looks like a spammy guest post, even though it was legitimately conducted.
Should I ask him to remove some of the links so it doesn't look spammy? I feel kinda bad because he's not trying to do anything fishy.

There's no right answer to this, but here's my take.
The links seem perfectly fine, and natural, to me. They don't contain overly-optimized anchor text. In fact, most link to you with URL anchors, which are generally considered safe.
Even if the links had more precise anchor text, it's usually not a problem unless there is a pattern of unnatural links. If you haven't already, I highly suggest reading this post from Rand:
Dear Google, Links from YouMoz Don't Violate Your Quality Guidelines
Including the first comment, from Marie Haynes, where she pretty successfully defines an "unnatural" link:
- -Intent to manipulate the Google search results
- -Whether it is part of a large pattern of similar links
Regardless, hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

Hi Cojo,
The standard guideline/rule of thumb is 100 links per page. I believe Google also looks at the percentage of links to content. With the page provided having a ton of content and only 5 links, I do not see a problem at all.
In other words you are GOOD TO GO!
Also, just found this blog post by MOZ.

Building an Industry Resource List w Links to Competitors
Hi folks. I'm working on a B2B e-commerce site in a very commoditized space. It's very technical and longtail-- several thousand product pages and of those, over 1,000 landing pages per month, when visitors find products. Most items we sell are only bought once or twice per year. Many won't even be bought in a given year. So it's tough to invest a lot on a given page, but we chip away at it. We don't have many non-product pages. To date, we've grown with solid on-page SEO for products and good customer service. I'm adding a resource section to include helpful articles and definitions of technical terms. Also, since good sources of products can be so hard to find (we literally have customers like NASA googling for parts), I would like to build an industry guide of sorts. It would include manufacturers, master distributors, distributors and resellers (like our site). To be a good list, it only makes sense to include my competitors. It's likely very few people will actually ever see this page, but I figure more deep content with lots of highly relevant links is good for raising DA, especially because it could become a page others want to link to. I haven't found a comparable resource in the 4 years I've been working on this project. Any reason I should not do this? Any pitfalls I should be aware of? Thank you!

How do I fix a broken link to a product category page in wordpress?
We are building a new site currently at http://67.222.109.48/~cheapnan/ I started doing some SEO after the developer I hired failed to do it even though it was in the agreement. I did our old site so I should be able to do this but I am new to wordpress. Now when i go to the products tab at the top of the page the first 2 have broken links, I checked the rest and there are 3 total that I need to fix. I am unsure how to access the navigation so I can fix the links. Please tell me where to look.

At what point to stop comments on a blog? Do too many comments hurt the page?
I have a page that's ranking pretty well, and driving sales. That page is starting to get 10+ comments per day and is starting to get quite long. I was wondering if there is a point where I should disable the comments? My gut tells me that people interacting with the page, and Google seeing responses with the users SHOULD be a good thing not bad. But, then I think that a majority of the content of the page is no longer the article, but the comments. All the comments are good, non spammy and directly related to the topic. People just asking questions, etc. Good engagement, I should be happy right?

Adding too many new pages at once - will it be seen as spammy
I have a database of around 10,000 business I want to list on my directory. My problem has been that my people have been adding to the database for over a year, but due to my hosting limitations adding them, caused my site to crash. I have now got this sorted, would going from 1,000 urls listed to over 11,000 may Google think I am trying to spam them. Would it be worth while dripping them in over time, or just adding them all at once. Any advice appreciated, Thanks

How to encourage guest bloggers to link back
Hi, we have just started to allow guest bloggers on our site www.in2town.co.uk where we offer them two links within the articles, but what we would really like to do is to encourage them to link back to their articles. I am trying to find information on how we can encourage guest bloggers to link back and would love to hear your thoughts.

Does content have a shelf life for link building efforts?
Do you think that content (that doesn't have a date attached) has a shelf life? Especially content that is effectively timeless such as a quiz? I've noticed in my link building efforts that most links are achieved within the first couple of weeks, and that there seems to be a point of diminishing returns. Why do you think that may be?
