How to create a moz local listing for a service area?
-
I have a client who service a very wide area, from a major city to about 100 miles north of it, they only have one location but their business is never conducted inside the office. When creating a moz local CSV, any special suggestions on how to best configure it so it's listed for a wide area?
Thanks!

Good Morning!
Moz Local definitely works for home-based businesses (you'll be marking the business as home-based as described in our .CSV guidelines here: https://moz.com/local/help/documentation). The purpose of marking the business as home-based is so that the address can be hidden, but I do want to add the proviso here that not all of our partners will accept a hidden address. Because of this, we let home-based customers know that their address will appear on some of our partner sites. In many cases, this is no problem at all, but for a small percentage of customers who do not want their home address to appear anywhere on the web, Moz Local may not be the best match. Wanted to be sure you had this information to share with your client:)

Thanks everyone,
The client in question doesn't have a physical store but does have a "home base" so to speak but their customers never go there. My client comes to the customer for their parties and events. If using Moz local using their home base address will still benefit them then I'll certainly recommend it.
Thanks again for all the help. Really appreciate it.

Hi Corey,
For SABs like your client, a typical marketing strategy is going to involve:
-
Citation building for their physical location (whether manually or more conveniently through a product like Moz Local
-
Other efforts (like content development) for their service cities where they have no physical presence.
So, you'll want to do both. Moz Local will help your client get solid citations built for their physical location (which is really important, of course!) but you'll need to then employ other strategies to earn visibility for their non-physical-location cities.
Hope that makes sense!

I wouldn't. But the advice in the MiriamEllis's link is great advice!

Hey thanks for getting back to me.
So it's probably best to not spend money on Moz local in that situation?
-
Hi There,
Thanks for asking about this! Citation building is all about physical location, with the end goal being appearing well for the city in which a business is physically located. Whether you build citations manually or use a more convenient option like Moz Local, it is always going to be about physical location rather than service radius. Other marketing strategies must be employed by service area businesses hoping to gain visibility in geographic regions in which they have no physical presence. Citation building should strengthen your position where you are physically located, but for non-physical geographies, you will likely need to work on things like this:

Hope this helps!

Help!!! GMB Service-Area Business
Hello fello SEO’s! I’ve got some GMB questions that have been wracking my brain for the last couple weeks and need some ideas. Tl;dr - How should we properly set up service-area GMBs? Create GMBs for every county we serve? Additional context and questions below: I have an enterprise level client who operates in the flooring industry. One thing that separates them from the pack is they don’t have physical locations (service area business) despite serving mostly the entire continental US. Currently, I am working to cleanup the GMB profiles because they have been neglected. My idea/what I think is the norm, was to create GMB profiles for the major markets they served. Within those GMB’s we would target major counties served within that area aka the service areas. However, I was met with some push back on this. Someone mentioned that we should instead be creating individual GMB profiles FOR EACH county that was served. I cautioned against this mainly because of the amount of work it work it would take to create/maintain/drive reviews for/etc if we had a GMB set up for almost every county in the US. Now that we got that boring context out of the way, my question to you is this. 1. How should we properly set up service-area GMBs? Create GMBs for every county we serve? Or Create GMB’s for main markets only and list the counties served in the GMB profile backend? 2. For each GMB profile create, a matching city-page will also be created. What information should be listed on the city page? Obvs, NAP, map, reviews, etc. I’m talking about copy. Is one of our keywords in “laminate flooring installation Los Angeles” should that keyword be optimized in the Los Angeles City page? Or should the LA city page be a hub, and have multiple surrounding pages optimized around keywords. For example, just having a page dedicated to the keyword “laminate flooring installation Los Angeles” Helpful answers appreciated!

Moz Listing Paused
One of my Moz listings is paused because "Listing not found on Google or Facebook." My Google account is linked to Moz and the listing is showing in Google results and on the back end of Google My Business but it is not showing in the Import option. Thank you in advance.

Why are none of my directory listings showing any Bing or YP information
I have many Directory listings on Moz and none of them are showing any Bing information and almost no YP information. The listings are just showing this yellow exclamation point. This has been happening for the last few weeks. Why is this happening and how can I get them back?

Moz information (Rankings, Search Visibility, etc.) not working
Good afternoon! I had a quick concern / question that I wanted to ask the community. One of my campaigns hasn't moved at all since we put them into our account. Everything has stayed static: 0.00% Search Visibility, 0 Keywords Ranking, 0 Moved Up, 0 Moved Down, etc., They have been in Moz for roughly a month now. Does anyone know what might be happening? We are trying to get solid data for our client, but we can't seem to get Moz to index it, perhaps? Let me know what you think!

How to connect the right GMB listing?
I have a Moz Local listing that has found the correct FB page but it isn't connecting/syncing with a GMB listing. I have given it a week but still nothing on GMB. Will the Google+ page that I link to in Advanced > Social Media URLs be linked with the Moz listing? What is the best practice to tell the Moz Local listing what GMB listing to sync up with?

I have even deleted the page in question and tried to recreate it from scratch following the link from the SEO moz local that that says my facebook profile is incomplete but it' still not working. Has anyone experienced the same issue or am i doing something wrong?0 -
How to export Google Places List
I am going to use the new Moz Local. When going into my Google places to try to export the list of businesses and location info I can't seem to figure out how to export it. I click download but it won't download any of the properties. It downloads a spreadsheet and says -0- locations downloaded. Frustrated. Any advice?
