Woo-commerce inventory management?
-
Does anyone have ideas on how to manage inventory of an e-commerce furniture dropship store made from woo-commerce?
I work with 10 drop shippers who all upload an excel sheet once of month with inventory and discontinued product information.
Right no inventory is not being tracked. I simply tell the customer the item is out of stock which is NOT GOOD in the long term.
I believe I have 2 options:
1. Program some automation
2. Indicated estimated shipping time of 1-6 weeks since an out of stock item takes about 4 weeks to be put back in stock. Remember I am selling furniture. -
Did you find what you needed Kiwi Man?
I can't vouch for any specific plug-in, but these two might be worth looking into:WooCommerce Drop Ship Manager Pro: Costs $200 and specifically mentions inventory updates via spreadsheet.
Spark Shipping offers "Dropship eCommerce Automation" services and they work with WooCommerce stores, among others: "Spark Shipping will process feeds from your suppliers and automatically update your inventory. Automated Inventory Management keeps your inventory in sync with all of your vendors."
One thing you need to be sure of is that you aren't publishing the manufacturer/vendor supplied product descriptions on your site. You should be overwriting the ones that come in via the feed and using your own custom product descriptions instead.

Hi
Maybe young should look into some of the woocommerce inventory plugins. I did a quick search and came up with several.
Good luck

Managing Removed Content
I am a Real Estate Developer. Once a home goes off market (is sold), I had been using a 404 for that page. The problem: When the home goes up on market again, google will not re-index the new page (same URL) I have also tried to manage it a different way. Instead of removing the page, I left it as-is. At some later point time, the house goes back up on the market. The page is refreshed with new content. However, google decides to use cached version. Please note in either case, the property appears on the main page for a period of indexing. I have been doing this for 10 years, the problem is increasing with time.

Best CMS for e-commerce
Our website is powered through Magento CMS although I am losing my patience with it. We are completely restricted as to what we can do. The development costs are high and ongoing. We are a fast moving company but we feel that Magento is not the right solution for the companies future. We can not style pages to drive conversions without putting styling requests to our developers which takes months to complete and the end results are not always as we would prefer, we would prefer to style the pages ourselves using blocks etc. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Address On Every page for e-Commerce site?
For a primarily e-commerce site, should you have your address on every page (in the footer, for example)? Or is it enough to just have it on the contact page? Thanks, Ruben

Google tag manager on blocked beta site - will it phone home to Google and cause site to get indexed?
We want to develop a beta site, in a directory with the robots.txt blocking bots. We want to include the Google Tag Manager tags and event layer tracking code on this beta site. My question is that by including the Google Tag Manager code, that phones home to Google, will it cause Google to index this beta site when we don't want it indexed?

E-commerce customer registration fields during account sign up
I work for an online print company and recently we were considering adding a field titled "industry" so that we could figure out what industry our customers are coming from. Has anyone seen anything either in favor or against adding this field during the customers account registration process. We understand that less is best however feel that it is important to better serve our customers. Any information on this subject would be very useful.

Google Tag Manager
I recently discovered the Google Tag Manager and I am in the process of updating many of my websites with this feature. I am using Tag Manager to mange Google Analytics, Google Remarketing, Alive Chat, Woopra, etc. I have one question about how Tag Manager actually works. As best I can tell, the Tag Manager code snippet that I insert into my web pages is the same for all my websites and does not include a unique ID. If that is the case, then Tag Manager must search all the URLs in the TM database to find a match. What is to stop someone else from adding some rules for my URLs to their containers? I expect Google has a method to ensure proper matching, but I'm not clear on how that is enforced. Best,
