The Better Title to Use?
-
Hello Mozers-
I am targeting the keywords "liposuction scottsdale", "liposuction phoenix", "liposuction mesa", "liposuction arizona". Out of the following two Titles below, one would you consider the better one? And Why? I am leaning towards the second example. If you have any more ideas that would be great.
1). Tummy Tuck Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, Arizona
2).Tummy Tuck Scottsdale | Tummy Tuck Phoenix, Mesa, Arizona.
Thanks!!

I understand completely Steven.
We are often in a position where we are trying to offer advice based upon a limited slice of information. We do the best we can with what we know, and we will arrive at different conclusions. Perhaps Jason will enlighten us further on his situation.

I agree with you Ryan, however it's odd that he states that he is targeting liposuction, yet the 2 examples are for Tummy Tuck.
In my answer I am assuming he wanted a title with the keyword Tummy Tuck and not Liposuction since those are the 2 he was inquiring about.
Since it is a local business I also just looked up: 'liposuction scottsdale' as a comparison and it is estimated at 1000 searches compared to 720 for 'tummy tuck'.
Without further information I am assuming he is already targeting liposuction scottsdale.

I vote for option #3, none of the above.
Take a step back and determine which keyword you want to target, liposuction or "tummy tuck". According to Google AdWords "tummy tuck" gets 368k global searches per month where "liposuction" receives 1.2 million. Based on this data I would focus on liposuction as your keyword focus in the title.
Next, I would recommend finding a way to generate enough content to create a unique page for each area you wish to target. Even if you have one office that services those areas, you can offer custom directions and other content specific to each area. You also want to build links to each of these local pages from the area you are servicing.
Page 1 title: Liposuction Scottsdale
Page 2 title: Liposuction Phoenix
Continue with a page for each local area. The fewer the words in the title, the more weight each term has with respect to ranking. Balance that with the desire to provide a link that users will click on. You may wish to add your business name after the title which would be perfectly fine.
Page 1 title: Liposuction Phoenix | Acme Medical
Page 2 title: Liposuction Scottsdale | Dr. John Smith

You're lucky Google hasn't cottoned on to keyword spam yet................

Hey another SEO in Phoenix! Sweet...
Per Steven's info I would go with the following title:
Tummy Tuck Scottsdale, AZ - Liposuction by Dr. DOCTORNAME
I would also recommend having a different landing page for each GEO target. And you should get some local business links.
-
I would actually venture over to using:
tummy tuck scottsdale az
Since it is what is showing in the Google suggest when typing that in.
Additionally going throught Googles Keyword Tool we can see that
Tummy Tuck Scottsdale gets 720 searches a month
Tummy Tuck Phoenix gets 590 searches a month
Tummy Tuck Mesa gets -- searches a month, due to lack of search volume.
You would do better if you have individual pages for each individual area. Having the additional towns in a single title will not help and it brings down your keyword density in the title.

IMG TITLE no longer used in Wordpress?
Err, when did this happen? Although you can still enter a Title in the WP image library, when inserting into a post the Title tag is not implemented. Alt text is there OK but not Title. There was a plugin around that restored this basic seo functionality but it's no longer available. I mean - honestly!

Title Attribute Length + Use
Hi, Is there an optimum character limit for attribute titles like there is for meta titles? On my ecommerce site I am adding about 280 characters product category page headers to succinctly describe what the page is such as in the example below; MENS BRIEFS + TANGAS We stock a range of mens briefs from leading designer brands that offer popular cuts and fabrics such as mens cotton briefs. You will also discover styles that are a little more risqué for those looking for something more daring in sexy mens briefs and tangas. I have added the following [title attribute] to this header text (MENS BRIEFS + TANGAS)so it displays the following title attribute text when you hover over it. My intention behind this is so that it enables me to provide visitors with access (via assistive reading software or hovering their cursor over the header text) to a bit more information, which they my find useful [title attribute text] - Mens briefs and tangas. These are possibly the most common and long established style of mens underwear, yet they still come in a variety of cuts and styles. The common feature amongst all men’s briefs is that they have a full rear panel that partly or entirely covers the bottom. They will have cut away legs, a pouch at the front and are supported with an elasticated waistband. Briefs and tangas can vary in the amount coverage in the side panels around the hips and top of the legs and the rear. The more revealing and skimpier tanga style usually consists of only a pouch at the front that is supported with an elasticated waistband and a minimalist rear, with no side panels that exposes the hips.[title attribute text] Is this too much? Can search engines penalise me for it? Am I using/misusing title attributes? Thanks

Site Wide Title Tag Discussion
Do you think it's good to have an instance of your primary keyword occur on most of your site's title tags throughout your site? Or do you think having the keyword occur in most title tags throughout the site will dilute the ranking ability for the home page? I haven't read much about this in "best practices" for title tags. hmmmm...

How to best use our blog posts for SEO?
My company recently created a WordPress hosted blog. It is hosted completely separate from our company site. The primary domain for the blog is blog.mydomainname.com, but we immediately created a folder within our company website for www.mydomainname.com/blog that has a reverse proxy to the blog itself. I'm curious though if we should consider taking the content from the blog posts and re-creating that within our company website as well? The blog posts are very good SEO rich content, and we always struggle to find new content to put on our company website as it is already. Would like to get some folks thoughts on this. Thanks!

Pop up livechat - annoying or better conversions?
Do you guys find that visitors find pop up livechat software annoying, or do you find that it leads to significantly more conversions? What I mean by pop up is software that appears without the user clicking the 'chat now' button.
