Blog Content if Google has stated it doesn't like your blog?
-
Hi guys,
In the new 'mobile usability' tab in Webmaster Tools, Google has stated that our blog isn't offering a good experience for users. Something we already knew and I want to change, but I can't get the budget approved to complete the work. I was just wondering if you think Google isn't going to hold my content very high as a result. I want to produce more content on our blog around our valuable keywords in hope to improve our rankings, but if Google isn't holding our site in high regard I'm thinking there may not be much point in it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Brian

So yes, Google is starting to factor in mobile user experience as one of it's many ranking factors. It is still a bit unknown how this works -- machine learning or human review? -- and exactly how much you're going to get dinged.
But if you can't get the budget, then that's a different issue. You need to be making a solid business case for spending the budget to get a mobile site. You need to dive into your analytics and figure out the user experience for someone coming in on mobile. Figure out how much money you're losing because of this experience. Figure out how much potential traffic you'll get. Figure out how best to tackle the project. (Depending on your site, you might not be able to make everything mobile right away. Example, Moz's site is terrible for mobile, which we're planning on fixing. However, the blog and Moz.com marketing/resource pages are the priority. Putting our software into a mobile experience is a different project.) Best of luck!

Hi Brian,
Google continues to push towards a 'mobile first' approach and I think you have a good reason to be slightly concerned. It makes sense to invest in this now because it's just going to become more and more important.
If you are producing high quality content I don't think Google will discredit it completely, however, not having a good mobile experience for users could potentially hurt your CTR and bounce rate on mobile. Google recently added (and I believe is still testing) a 'Mobile-friendly' tag in search results that lets the user know which results are or are not mobile-friendly.
All in all, I wouldn't completely stop producing content if you are seeing good results, but you really should push to invest in making your website mobile-friendly sooner than later.
Hope this helps you with your dilemma!

is your blog only available on mobile devices? if so, then there is probably not much point posting anything before fixing the usability, but if its normally accessible on desktops then it will get credit in desktop search results

Reposting content.
I have some good articles I wrote for article directories a couple of years ago. I took them down 6 months ago. I am hoping to repost them somewhere better if the content isn't listed on google and passes Copyscape. Would this be safe?

How do I split page content?
So I offer two services for which each has an FAQ page (let's call them S1 and S2). The problem is that I also have a longer FAQ page that covers both services (S1-2). I would like to eliminate the longer one and attach the relevant content to each of the shorter pages but i'm concerned that deleting pages with a lot of content might be a bad idea. I could redirect I suppose but I wouldn't know which page S1 or S2 to point redirect to. Any advice on this?

When Somebody Copies your content What should you do?
I wrote an article in 2011 A Brief History of Benjamin Moore Paint on my website ( I am a painting contractor). It is a content creators win; sited as an authoritative article on wikipedia. Benjamin Moore Paint company has copied my content on their own corporate website; a deep page. Is this hurting, helping, or neutral? bX1kFQg,639HqZE bX1kFQg,639HqZE#1

How to optimize content pages with ecommerce?
Some content pages act as buyers guides for certain products for example Used Paddle Boards for Sale - http://www.islesurfboards.com/used-paddle-boards-for-sale.aspx this is a content page that gets huge amount of traffic and is pure content with no products on the page, but we also have a ecommerce section of the site that is Used Paddle Boards for Sale -http://www.islesurfboards.com/buy-used-paddle-boards-for-sale.aspx however this page just has a small paragraph and all the ecommerce product related to this section on the page. The content only page above gets all the traffic and rank and then they click over to the actual ecomm section wiht the products from a link on that page. Should i merge these two together so its just one page and put the content on the ecom page? If i do all the content with push the ecommerce products down which is not good so what does anyone recommend as a best practice? Also will this mess up the content pages rank is i merge them assuming i redirect? or Keep them seperate like i have with a content page regarding "used paddle boards for sale" and an ecommerce page that sells acutal "used paddle boards for sale"

Google Blogger Vs. Sub Domain Blog - Authority building.
We are looking into offering blogs for our customers on their current sites that we have built & host for them. My developers have given me 2 options. 1. Sub domain with a hosted blog. 2. A Google Blogger blog with our customers sub-domain pointed to it. In my opinion I feel that a blog hosted on the sub domain is a better option as it is more authority then a Google Blogger blog. What does everyone think? Having a blog hosted on the subdomain would help with authority building vs. a Google Blogger site? Thanks for any help!

About Google Instant Preview
Hi all, Please, I have a doubt about how Google Instant Preview works. My website is www.emagister.com, it’s a Spanish website and our servers are here in Spain (for the Spanish version of course) Sometimes, in some URLs appears Google Instant Preview image with the preview of my website that advises users that they could visit USA or German version of my Website while they visit the Spanish version www.emagister.com. Even though they stayed in German or USA…. Sometimes in the Instant Preview image it shows that they could visit the version in German or American even though the user is in Spain. Then when I click on the link, the text does not show up. Emagister gets 12 version (each country we have). I attached screen-shoot. I don’t understand how it works, cause I’m in Spain, I visit my Spanish version and I see Istant Preview with this message…it happens just with a couple of URLs: Just two examples: http://www.emagister.com/cursos-nutricion-tematica-175_1.htm http://www.emagister.com/cursos-ensenanza-tematica-600_1.htm Thank in advance for your help, Best regards, Francesca Nuvola
